Funny and great thread.....much of this looks like the stuff I found under Mom's couch in 1978! Disco buds...I have smoked some of this stuff when I was a kid (yes some kids got high in the 4th grade in the late 70's because their parents thought it was okay) I remember the taste of Columbian,Thai stick, and Panama Red.....that's all I remember. They grew seeds from it in the back yard, shitty looking buds, seedy, and dropped seed that popped up by itself.....wouldn't mind re-living the taste of those larfy buds though.

daves4usc great man, i`ll be really grateful if you and someone else will share this interesting info especially about sativas:bow:. now its a history:joint:

I just read all 12 pages. This thread is fucking amazing. Thank you Four Seasons and all the old heads who contributed. I come away from this thread with three thoughts.

First, as a young head myself I always thought from the propaganda out there that technology and the weed itself was shit back in the day. It kind of blows my mind to see early DWCs and Vaporizers being advertised back in the 70s in the ads.

Second, I would absolutely be fascinated to see what some of those Thai and Columbian genetics would look like if they were put through hydroponics today.

Third, I got a big laugh at the Hydropot ads. The company's logo looked familiar to me but I didn't understand why... until I looked over at a growlight in my room and saw it's the exact same logo as the large infamous Hydrofarm company today. Only difference is they changed from "Pot" to "Farm".

I hope there's more contributions to this thread in the future.

Thanks Indi, you are a gent,I thought they looked like pretty decent plants....I wouldn't say no! ;]
I found them as I have been researching cannabis in Brasil and this area in particular as I am going to Bahia and Pernambuco in august/sept.Visiting some friends in Salvador and one of them(a Backyard Sativa grower who has some MangaRosa seeds for me)is gonna take me into the Sertoa for a couple of weeks to stay with a few families so should be able to get a few diff pips while I'm there...along with any Wild finds or bagseed collecting I can do elsewhere......Fingers crossed!
The only Brasilian? strain I have grown out and worked from local bagseed was sent from this area in late 90's and that was an especially nice limey but spicey, cerebral, thin but crinkly-leaved Sativa(Unknown strain) that is in my Caipirihuana cut.I would love some more like that cultivar. JBo

Pleased to be of assistance fella! You lucky sod, that sounds like one hell of a good trip to me, fingers crossed you find some great Brazilian genes. Apart from Leda Uno and Bahia Blackhead from KC Brains I've never grown anything from Brazil. Very interested to see some pics when you get back, and take care and be safe, I hear that Brazil can be a dangerous place.

Black Widow aka White Widow from MNS is another strain with Brazilian genetics (Manga Rosa).

Ta Indi I am looking forward to it Immensely, its making me feel better about having to postpone my African trip for last few years...And don't worry I'm always careful...I won't go anywhere I haven't been invited and start picking seeds LOL(I learnt that lesson in the Transkei, good job I can run fast!).BTW I really liked Leda Uno..kept a select girl for a while but wasn't sure how Brasilian it was really seemed quite Indica.
Ta Elmanito they are cool pics arent they,I think it looks a decent chunky Sativa....I do remember reading something by Shanti about the Widows genetics.
I will deffo tell you guys about anything I collect and get them OP'ed and shared with the community before I clean them up for my own ends.

Leda Uno and Bahia Blackhead have some wonderful phenos but they take some finding, I've had Ledas that yielded 2g! It was an extremely tasty, resinous and potent 2g, but FFS, 4 spliffs worth off a plant!

Good luck on the seed hunting, you find em and I'll grow em! lol
