Asil - Thanks!

Morg - thanks for stopping by! - i bet you're itching to get growing again? i would love to see someone use this mod. scrog method with a bigger light :joint:

Snap - i'm kind of interested to see how it smells. slightly worried it's going to be that terpene that, to me, seems to smell of human sh1t. one of my GG2's smelled like that and so did a friend's cheisel. not keen on it.

neon - yeah the foxtails look awesome, having said that i will try and run the blueberry over winter to see if it turns out the same. perhaps it will have a different structure in cooler weather?? - i chatted to FOE20 on the dj short board and he seems to thing it shouldnt do that. i dont feel i could reduce the nutes much more but perhaps the temps. it smells amazing though and should turn out to be a great yield.

thanks snap - lol - the GG2 was very strong though.

pollinated a bud on the power plant with some black forrest pollen from a male in the greenhouse (the tiny clone i used to sex the plant). will use some GG2 pollen on it too but i had very little success with the gg pollen last round even though the MLI worked just fine (both stored in the freezer in foil wraps in the same jar)- just practicing pollenation really and making some seeds.

spent a while training the plants in the cab. the cheese stretched a lot more than i expected and the BF is still stretching too. powerplant is quuite frosty already at 3 weeks or so - ill get some pics soon

Yeah, that'll be interesting to see, and I agree on the yield... virtually leaf free too!

Sweet nugs man :D

thanks neon - im going to weigh the BB later and post the yield.

got some pics and an update for ya

first quarter is Power Plant at 26 days- this pheno is quite quick around 8 weeks i think
the pollenation attempt with BF pollen was successful i think - definitely some withered hairs 24 hours later. i attempted to pollenate a bud with Geurilla Gold pollen too - i hoep it works because this is a cross i really want to make. power plant is slow to start flowering outdoors but then finishes quickly so the combination with ultra early gg could be a good one

nug - very frost already

next is the cheese at 17 days. this has stretched much more than expected but i think it will be ok now. somethiing about the way i grow makes plants stretch a lot - probably the repot into huge pot on the flip. i have another cheese in there too thats about a week behind this one

last the Black Forrest -23 days - this has topped out now i think (thank goodness) and i should just about get away with trying a proper sativa in my little cab - long way to go still though. i'll make some f2's of this as i have the little male still. pollination is very easy when you dont have to mess about freezing the pollen :)

if this was left as a normal plant it would have at least tripled in height

I love your grow VG, it's inspiring. Have you tried that 10 week NL yet?

Also inspired here... great grow. I love seeing people get the very most out every watt, especially in small spaces. That's really plenty to take care of most people's personal needs.

Warpainted - thanks - yes i had a good go on the 10 week NL last night - very smooth, almost golden buds. very mellow relaxing high but fairly clear headed still. i slept well :joint:

milehighmedical - yeah i think you get something a little extra when you drive your equipment to the limits/capacity - this applies to almost everything imo. it gets you really in tune with the finer details.

--

the blueberry weighed 77grams dry - just weighing it made the whole upstairs of my house stink of berries/weed. so thats (edit) 1.23 grams/watt- like i said this pheno is a decent yielding one.

I'm a bit confused... you cleared about 300g+ from your four girls. How does that come out to 2.32 g/w?

I'm thinking of mimicking your setup, but I was going to do it with a 600w and four 1.5x1.5 mod scrogs in a 3x3. But you're already hitting my target yield range. Now I'm wondering if you think the 250w is capable of producing more per watt than a bigger light? I always see with 150-250's pulling great yields. I mean... you're getting more than I'm expecting from my 600!

What're your insights on upgrading your style to run with double the watt capacity? Do you think you could make it worth it with the same veg times? Or is the 250 economical beyond any other lights?

SH1T! that was a typo - how embarrassing! - i meant 1.23 g/watt for the Bb - i'll change that!.
overall between the 4 strains it's 1.2 g/watt which is pretty much the same average yield as last round. (haze 3 and MLI were 1g/watt, NL 1.6g/watt and Bb 1.23)

i think 4 1.5 square in a 3 by 3 would be awesome. you should be able to pull the same yields (g/w) as me. the reasn people pull more under smaller lights is probably that they use methods like scrog more often. make sure you have a good reflector - the light needs to be high enough above the plants to spread properly. another reason why people pull more g/watt from smaller lights is that many people have very high watt's/square foot and this doesnt convert to yeild in g/watt. i imagine many people would try and squeeze a 400 into my cab but it's not necessary.

it would be cool to see someone do this under a 600 and at 3x3 you will have 66 watts per sq ft which is similar but slightly more than me .

Hey man, beautiful grows. Seriously, VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

Please post some dry (or harvest) shots of that BB grow you just finished. I'd love to see them. That plant was spectacular and you did a great job. Inspirational!

Thanks! Do they look more or less appealing would you say?

You're grows on here really have amazed me, such diversity in terms of strains . . . . awesome work Verdant!

i hung them upside down to dry - they look lovely but quite unusual. the smell though is SO strong. not just of berry but quite a complex floral/skunky/hashy smell too.

MMMMmmmmmm . . . .

Wish I was there for that. Were they more difficult to grow/meet the requirements of than the NL strain you grew? Or does Organics seem to suit them all much the same?

organics is pretty forgiving and can almost suit them all the same- the Bb is unusual though. i have been told they shouldnt foxtail as much as that - its in the genetics but can be stopped by growing with less N and less heat. the plant seemed very happy but i'm going to run it this winter and see what happens in cooler temps.

i use a standard soil mix and sometimes tweek it a bit depending on strain - it's posted in the thread somewhere. this time with the Bb it had half the N guano than usual and was happy but the NL suffered a little N def in the same mix and i had to topdress with more N guano.
the BF is in my standard mix with 20% coco added just to dilute it a bit and make it more fluffy as sativas dont like heavy soil.

sorry - bit of a convaluted answer but i would say have a standard mix which you can use for most strains and then adjust slightly if certain ones have different requirements.

hope that makes some vague sense ;)
