Oh Please!

Oh Please!

please dont see english " beer" as european beer it's mostly crap , it's brown think they call it ale , the same as the food over there OMFG

Two words:

FUCK OFF!

You are so incredibly short sighted. All this talk of IPA this and IPA that...do you know the history of India Pale Ales?

Carbonation and cooling of ales helps mask crap brewing...I.e. You can't taste the mistakes. Seriously...open up to the world of ENGLISH BITTERS!

Don't say things are shit just because you can't handle the taste/experience.

By the way...I just fucking love what North America has done to the worlds cuisine: 'would you like to supersize that caffeine lard heart attack in a bun?'

Tribute, spitfire, black sheep, brakspear, 6x, IPA (the real deal), Abbot Ale.....

And on....

And on...

And on...

And on....

Bitter is where it's at...and 'bitter' is what you bubble boys are!

;)

The French Laundry
Gary Danko
Bouchon
Mustards
Alinea (Only one of the five I have not dined at. Partly because it can easily cost two people 1200-1400 for dinner.)

Just five places off the top of my head, that rate higher than ANY place in the UK, except for maybe The Fat Duck.

I am sorry, isn't the UK known for Fish and Chips.... That's some healthy eatin there!

there all restaurants :comfort:,,
u gotta go a pub for real ales and i reckon we got u seriously whipped on that ,,you cant compete with english pubs ,,sadly they are closing at a fast rate due the smoking ban and low supermarket prices.i live right in the heart of ale country and can goto 30 different pubs within a mile radius and drink upto 30-50 different ales on tap , its great

america was built on english ale ,bass ale(from burton now owned by coors) was sold in the states in goldrush days ..

i agree fish and chips aint too healthy ,in moderation though its ok ,so i'm told ,,
the uk dont eat much fish and chips these days ,,
our no1 takeaway now is indian curries ,,theres no way u can call them crap ,yum yum ,with some ipa hehe ,,we even have curry pubs ,cause theres nothing better than to get pissed and eat curry :tiphat::tiphat:

hey and a nice day to you too

sorry if i hurt your feelings but i am used to REAL belgian beer and to be honest i haven't tasted ONE good english beer , same as the food in England

Well i had good food there but that was indian food :D

We just have a higher standard here in Belgium as far as beer is concerned and it has nothing to do with chauvinism(btw i am not belgian but live there , so i can also say italian beer for example is crap i got nothing against england)

Give Sam Smith's beers a shot.

Famous Taddy porter, Oatmeal Stout, and Nut Brown Ale are all world class beers IMO

EVerybody else is wrong and I am right..... :dance013:

JK everyones different. I know which kind of beer I LOVE and I stick to that pretty hardcore. If a bar doesnt have what i consider a good american IPA or "strong" american pale ale then i will just get a whiskey drink. and i agree with whoever said the colder the beer is the more it will mask imperfections.....

I like Belgian Beer too! Only reason I go to Belgo's in London is to peruse there beer menu.

But to say all English beer is crap is a bit rich!

Let's say I'm just getting into trying different types of microbrews and what not. Let's also say that I have access to a liquor store that stocks over 800 different varieties from all over the world (pretty good selection as far as I know). Anybody want to throw some personal favorites or recommendations out there?
