Ur Favorite Beer?

Being a beer snob (as well as pot snob), it's hard for me to name a 'favorite' beer... but I must say.. Hopslam is probably the best Imperial IPA I've ever had (and I've had a lot). The thing that separates Hopslam from the rest of the over the top IPA's out there, is balance.. it's not only intensely bitter, but it's so balanced in the flavor/aroma category as well. 10% abv makes this a beer you want to have sitting in the comfort of your own living room with no plans on going anywhere.. I would recommend pairing this beer with a nice bud of White Widow or OG Kush.. I hope all you IPA heads out there get a chance to try this beer..

I only drink American IPA's and Strong american pale ales (pretty similar categories) and choosing one would be hard so I will name three that I LOVE!

In no particular order

A) Odell's IPA
B) Yak and Yeti Himilayan IPA
C) Backcountry Telemark IPA

I wouldnt drink a beer from the gas station unless i was paid enough for it to be worth it.

Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout.
Dogfish head 60 minute IPA
Sam Smith Famous Taddy Porter
Sam Smith Nut Brown Ale
and the best macro-ish beer of all time, good ole' Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

I agree with Maynard about the Hopslam its a nice all around beer....I dont drink often but when I do buy beer it has to be a barleywine style brew or someting similar.....weak beers need not apply lol. It only takes 2 and some herbs to feel Irie :)

Heres a few that i enjoy
Sierra Nevada - Bigfoot (seasonal) buy it by the case when i see it
Stone - Double bastard or Old Guardian...along with some of their ipa's too
Victory - Old Horizontal (seasonal)

JK theres alot of good beers out there that I like. I am more of a whiskey guy than a beer guy though so I probably wouldnt like alot of the stuff you guys do (I dont like the beer really hoppy or really strong in flavor.)

West Coast IPA's are about all I go for anymore. That's where the flava is ;-) Life is too short too drink crappy beer.

Notables:
Ranger IPA - New Belgium
Racer 5 - Bear Republic
Blind Pig - Russian River (better than Pliney the Elder IMO!)
Ruination, Arrogant Bastard - Stone Brewing
Hop Ottin' IPA - Anderson Valley
Sculpin IPA - Ballast Point
Festina Peche - Dogfish Head (not an IPA)

Ranger is probably the easiest to find and is shockingly good. Stands up to or surpasses the Racer 5, which to me is THE standard for the West Coast IPA style beer. There are a lot of amazing IPAs out there. If you haven't discovered these fantastically tasty brews yet, you're in for a real treat. Snappy on the palate followed by complex flavors of piney, floral, or citrus usually. A lot of them have that hoppy-piney bud scent - just wonderful.

... tried some paulaner salvator double bock a while back. I rarely drink alcohol but I really enjoyed this. It has a pleasant flavor and....

...3 bottles and a doobie, and I was "blissfully buzzed"

Seems that mosty posters in this thread are USA/Canada based..?

I live in England and love the thousands of different ales available in the thousands of unique and different pubs around. When I say ale I mean...not carbonated and served at roomish temperature (cellar temp...10degs or so). So many unique beers...the added warmth brings out the flavours...malty and hoppy heaven.

In terms of lagers (bubbly stuff), I really like Duval, Perroni, Heineken, Brewski (NZ Pilsner)

Never quite enjoyed bubbly and cold ales though...seems a shame to cool it down and miss those flavours.

:)
