You might wanna move the lights closer because they look a little stretched to me. But take my advice with a grain of salt, I've never done an indoor grow and you seem to know what you're doing, could just be a genetic trait or something. Just in a lot of other grows people see pics like that and make a "move the lights closer" comment, but I could be completely wrong.

Make sure to let the ground get dry before watering.. at least a few inches down. Looks like overwatering is/was the problem.
Also in the future, dry to dilute the ffof a bit maybe with some regular topsoil as it might be a bit too hot.

Also noticed your plants mostly seem to have 3 leaves which happened with mine when it got really stressed and died a bunch.

yea i did casue it some stress by topping it Dr, but there is 6 new side shoots starting to come out so we will see in a few days what kind of leafs i will have but yea it did indure some stress but there really starting to grow.. and for my next batch of seeds i am going to mix in some more perlite into the soil to help with drain/overwatering issues but ty for the input

the real question is, if you really need to water it? did you just assume by the top layer of the soil?
to answer your question, you can use leaves, bark etc.

nope i can poke the soil at least a 1/4" or more of dry soil on all the plants and like i said i watered yesterday.. temps havent been to outragus mid 80's but enough vent to help keep the plants lvl about 78. any other advice would be helpful.

i looked at above images and i think pots are big enough for now. (how big they are btw?)
transplant i think it's not needed...
well, i think you don't need watering for 2 days now. let us now if it's otherwise.

First off - soil ain't for "pokin" ya have roots in there - well did have.

next - if it ain't thirsty - don't water.
Period.

lift the pot - if it's light in weight - it's getting dry - if ,,, - now this is where heat stress can **** ya too - - if temps are good, - a plant will droop when dry - a little droop is not bad - a lotta droop is harmful - to be the best grower on the block - all ya gotta do is water them when they are thirsty and not until. Heat stress will make them droop and look dry too - a little too much water then and you will be battleing health issues for a while. Before you water - pick the pot up - is it heavy? - don't water. if it's light and the plant isn't drooping - the plant isn't thirsty - if you are pretty sure the plant won't droop by the next time thu the garden - don't water. Ideally - you want to water just prior to the plants STARTING to droop

Cannabis likes to get some air to the root system - the only way it can in soil is wait till the water is gone

80's are pretty hot, - high 70's can be rough.

little plants in big pots are always a hell of a problem for me. I start in 8-oz cups - about 3/4 full

-It usually gets easier.

honest.

see that search button at the top of the page?

there's a lotta good stuff in there.

well i poke on th outer edge with a long toopick to see where the depth of water is. and i have transplanted them from a 10oz cup to these pots.

if you lift the pot and test the weight you know how mych water is in it also and you don't have to bulldose and maime roots - which ain't goina help ya out - so stop it.

nevermind - it's your plant - poke away.
