After a while when a thread gets too big it's not good for the web site...

I think rick should be the one to start it up...

Maybe start it with the all the cheese variations you are testing out?

Rick do you know if Silas ever revived the brightside?

At the time I was makin so much money and sending out so many cuts it would be like asking me if I remember a certain 100 pounds I spent at a bar one afternoon

Id need to talk more about it,,,, it's hard to recall from just a name I can't remember ever dealing with,, but give my brain a jog an you might make a real connection

I understand bro. Silas was on the boards during the 90’s and early 2000’s. He was here at the mag and the farm. His brother ti think was a mod over at 420 at this time username grobag and used to hang with cheese farmer/ofthehill. Silas bred with the cheese cut to create a strain called lost skunk. He also bred it with yeti og and chem 91. He is one of the older heads. I’m sure some folks on here must have heard of him.

So he must have bred the rks mazari out of it , What afghan did he use to make sweeter/fruitier for holland.

Just interested to see if cheeze anissed profile was around in skunk 1 pre holland i think 84 he went or is cheeze a new school dutch re bred sweeter version. I can only say i didnt smoke any old school skunk just sweeter skunk from holland.

So afghan 1 and mazar both have the rks and afghan 1 is the closest people have got to rks profile , i wonder if mazar rks still around in some form. Theres no rks in 89 cheeze and alot of afghan so you could say that cheeze is the newer skunk that sam bred for holland. Just good to nail profiles down. With taking away the rks from skunk 1 then i am interested to hear if sam stayed with a fruity mazar or a different afghan with aniseed. When did the aniseed show up in skunk 1 is what i am asking , Can it be found in 70s skunk or whas it found in dutch skunk 1 or if cheeze is pure skunk 1 then is it the 1st aniseed/liquorice pheno found in skunk 1 as never heard of it in sk1

As far as I know ther wer quite a few phenos similar to cheese avalable up until the early 90's..the cheese seems to be wat I can only describe as a darker version of these..the archetype at the time was a more golder green version, very tallish sativa looking plants with slim outstretched light coloured leaves..wen starting to flower had quite alot of long white hairs...you could get it to foxtale like cheese..and the buds used to finish quite big, light greens and golds with luminous greens, smell and taste wise..straight away youd know that ther sisters of cheese only it was a bit more spicyier and stunk just as much..able to penetrate walls..it lent more towards the haze type spectrum in the taste that kind of spicyness..only the buzz from it was more uplifting than cheese..more of that sativa happyer type...dont know if this info helps some. Ther again the seeds available up until the eary 90's may have been made earlier and could be from some of the first reproductions done of skunk#1 wen sam got to holland..so I dont know about that part

I'm impressed (and a little disappointed) that this thread is still going! Last time I was proper online, it seemed like there were half dozen peeps with potential cheese sharing them around. Still looking though hey! I going to ask a few peeps on other boards see if we can get cuts from other sources to try and verify :)

I believe people started with sk1 named as cheese in 89,,anyone who knew to buy sk1 in 89 will have then had cheese phenotypes,,, when the production grower gets involved once the market has been generated will choose a high yealding easy growth, high resistance cut,, so we probably have access to the exodus production plant (jahs exodus, windows),, but Brightsides Brightside will have been a personal choice pheno from Brightsides mentor at the mannor,,, this just south sounds exactly like how the stardog has been delt with recently,,, the normal Albanians have one stardog cut and people like us have a bunch of others to choose from

Franco reversed big buddas seedline to make gh cheese initially ,, that's why Brightside took it on himself to give what he saw as the originals exodus and that's why gh called there new line the exodus cheese,,,

But yes I agree the production cut is jahs and Windows imo,,Brightsides was an alternative cut,, but yeh it boils down to these 2,,window and jahs cut has a much better taste on the pallet for me and it has its got more cheese flavour too,,, imho where the Brightside cut doesn't actually smell cheese,,, jahs actually has hints of cheese flavour in there,,,

I find brig Brightsides to be straight black hash,, jahs is actually cheesey
