2 of the main reasons "illegals" make the trip to the US -

in both cases the US has made their lives unliveable South of the border -

1. Drug War.
I was looking at condo's in the Playa area of Tijuana. Anybody else want to move to TJ ? /sarc

2. Corn price.

American corn is too cheap for Mexican farmers to compete with. Related to NAFTA.

The US could stop this river of people from needing to leave their homes - EASY.
* stop the Drug War, let people buy or grow what the Cartels are selling.
* stop selling Ameri-corn in Mexico.

Completely agree. These are the same witless louts whose go-to will be you're a faggot, a socialist or a shill of the "lame stream media".

These are the folks who cheer for the clown who got politically famous pandering to racists with his false birther claims as he now whines about fake news.

it's posts like this that make these discussions get binned. why do we need all the name calling, is it so hard to just make your points logically and calmly? disagree by all means, even curse the others ideas, but don't curse or insult the person.

You can always tell the mental defectives in a thread when they use the word "libtard" as part of their retort or verbal attack at another poster. Only a complete mental midget would use such an idiotic term.
Anybody that supports an idea as totally idiotic & virtually impossible as "the wall" is simply not cool enough to have the spliff passed to them or be given a cold brew. :tiphat:

again, you tell peeps not to name call, when you are doing it in the same post yourself. by doing this you pull other people down to the same level, as they now feel insulted personally rather then just being disagreed with. in the end the wall is easy to argue for or against, i could fill pages with both sides of the debate, so i won't bother, lol.

there is point to be made for forcing companies to pay decent wages without relying on cheap foreign labor. yes prices will go up, but having some of those 90 million unemployed back at work will make up for a lot. trouble is every wall has a bottom and a top, probably there will be ends too. anyway people will defeat the wall. they will build the best tunnels you ever saw under that wall.

also from what i read the vast majority of undocumented foreigners actually enter the US on a valid visa then they disappear and stay.

This thread makes it obvious the influence that the "Donald" has on the public, it appears easier to insult and ridicule than discuss and be civil. The days of integrity and character, have been replaced with vile and hatred. Any non-American reading this thread is laughing, and laughing hard they are...laughing at how we treat each other, laughing while we piss on each others leg.

Clinton lost, Trump won...am I thrilled about that ?, no..not so much. Was Hilary the answer to our problems ?, no..not so much either. Every election someone wins, someone loses...get fukin over it. At the end of the day we're Americans, we should support our President, we love our country...and come together as a nation of 1. We should strive for a better world, a better life, peace and freedom for all.

Politics is dirty, mankind is failing, the world needs help, we all need each other...quit bickering like little twats and "do" something, don't just bitch...fucking do something about it !!!

PS: Just a little FYI, there is another election in 4 years...I'd advise you vote.

We live globally now, more than we ever have in our entire history, thanks to things like social media and even more importantly the internet so why can't we act with global responsibility, rather than focus on selfish interests?

I am not a global citizen. I am a US citizen and make no apologies for putting my country first. Fuck global responsibility. We spend enough of the taxes all US deplorables pay on shit to protect others like NATO and the UN. Not to mention all the foreign aid that should go to our poor and homeless, and to our vets.

Mind your own store first.[/QUOTE]

Breitbart thanks for your thoughts. Though they are
hideously ignorant.

what does it help you to be so insulting. as i have said, i see both sides of this argument. if some thing i said was wrong, why not be specific? which part is ignorant? like i said lets discuss rather then argue.

Your post carries the stench of knuckle dragging witlessness. It's the type of ignorant rant that merits nothing more than a cringe.

just because Gypsy is allowing this discussion for now, doesn't mean we have a tou free zone. if this is your attempt at not insulting the members, then i have to wonder if you are even able to discuss an issue such as this without sinking to insults.

You fail the test of cogency. Your observations are mistaken. Posing as if youre a thoughtful, insightful person is laughable.

The thing I am wondering about the wall is this..:

It is meant to keep out the illegals, but who does all the hard work that an american does not want to?
Crappy cleaning, harvesting fruits, etc.

This post is not meant as a "let them all in" kind of post, but more to give a bit of thought.
Because in my oppinion, most of the work issues that has come in most of the "good" countries is because everyone want the cheapes product..

When you are in the supermarket, you can choose between the avocado for 1$ (which gives good local, well paying jobs) or the one for 0.5$ which is from either illegal immigrants or from somewhere down south were wages are cheap..

95% will choose the cheaper ones, even though they are complaining about lost jobs..

That is funny I think.. ;)

back on topic of THE WALL:

like i said i think there are pros and cons, in a way it would be good to force US companies to use US labor, even if it means tempting those out of the labor force folks with higher wages and having to up prices on products. in the end the US has a giant market and as long as they doesn't allow cheap foreign goods that directly compete with US made products, it can work and the economy can benefit. on the other hand what happens to US exports, will they still be competitive in the world if companies are forced to use more expensive indigenous labor?

the biggest question is, how will the wall help when we know that most undocumented people, entered the US legally and just stayed after their visa ran out.

it's not inconceivable, but seems very unlikely to happen
world trade has driven the world economies a long time
and those that are not in it suffer terribly
add to this the relentless advances of technology that enable more production and fewer workers
thinking about it long and hard tends to generate headaches, bad ones
time fire up the vaporizer, it's how i cope these days

It´s gonna be interesting 4 years. I think it wouldn´t come so bad as a lot of people think BUT some bad things are guaranted for sure.

I think as last post before closing this thread, this lyrics,:

*
This Land Is Your Land
Words and Music by Woody Guthrie

This land is your land This land is my land
From California to the New York island;
From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and Me.
As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.
I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.
When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
This land was made for you and me.
As I went walking I saw a sign there
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."
But on the other side it didn't say nothing,
That side was made for you and me.
In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?
Nobody living can ever stop me,
As I go walking that freedom highway;
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me.
*

Peace, over and out

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Not sure why my post was deleted ????

But the wall doesn't need to be built, it's already there...it's in people's minds.

Surprised this thread has been allowed to continue so long. I thought political threads weren't allowed here and for pretty good reason. Only took 1 page of comments before it devolved into name callings.

Tons of mod activity in this thread too, politics is just too divisive no one can talk cordially and it gets too heated.
