Reagan never made a statement that wasn't approved by Nancy..
The easiest solution is to take over
USA all the way to the Panama canal
A wall down there would be a hell of a lot cheaper
Use all the money we spend killing brown people overseas to root out the cartels and crooked cops mayors and politicians..
McCain and his ilk get to keep killing ...Cheney gets to keep making money...Dumbshit Donny can open soo many more golf courses...

Damn right! I agree totally that's a great solution makes sense to me. That way we can do right by our Mexican brothers

That's exactly what we need more of. Some logic and love. Not hippy love, but the love you have for your homeboys. We need to take care of the neighborhood not just our pad. It's North America! Canada, Mexico and the U.S.! It's the way it was ALWAYS meant to be. There's a reason our southern boarder is like no other boarder on earth! There's a reason our cities all start with San, Santa or Los! There's a reason the names were never changed! I trip on how many people I know that don't have any idea what the fk any street or city name actually means. La Cañada just means La Cañada! They don't know Sepulveda isn't just a random grouping of letters! The strangest thing is that they never wanted to know! They were never curious and never cared. Maybe it's different for me because this American grew up surfing and listening to Sabbath with all the pale blue eyed homies that use to kick it with all us short brown eyed homies. But it didn't matter who I kicked it with, Mom's made beans almost every night!

Edit: not only did we eat a lot of beans, but EVERYONE from my neighborhood was welcome to come get some. My Dad could whistle louder than shit! He had a certain whistle that could be heard for fkn miles! All the birds would fly out of trees simultaneously spit seconds before the sound reached your ear! Haha It meant get the fuck home! If you heard it around 6pm, that meant dinner. We would all hear it from down the street and there was always at least 1 muthafucker that was hungry walking home with me. Some times they would go first cause I didn't wanna go home! Every color kid!

Does the US currently produce enough pot to satisfy all of us if the Mexican stuff can't make it over the border?

..... and what about alla that other 'stuff', will folks suffer when they can't get it?

Will the price of drugs go up due to scarcity?:tiphat:
They're (Mexicans/Cartels) growing LARGE in the USA! Sure, there's enough. Numerous stories growing in the SW......imagine they are everywhere, hiding in plain sight in the mountainous regions.

Recall a few years ago, they had 10K plants on Bandelier National Monument back woods area. Wildfire came through....they just donned yellow firefighter shirts to protect their grow. A helicopter discovered the multi-plots when they were surveying wildfire damage.

S. of Pueblo, officers in helicopter shot down when they discovered plots in Spanish Peaks area. There's more but those two, recall vividly.

The reason people cross this border is because it is the biggest economic difference of any two countries in the world. Until that is delt with a wall is ridiculous.

Speaking as an american but also someone who owns real estate in Mexico and spends quite a bit of time there and loves Mexico and the people and culture there. There is nothing the US can do that will fix Mexico's economic problems short of invading and taking over and making it part of the US. ( i know that sounds crazy but could be a solution) Mexico is the way it is because the people with the money and power there want it that way. Sounds cynical but thats the way it is.

I also believe that if you don't control your borders, you don't really have a country. I think a wall could work but it's probably not necessary. There are less expensive things you can do to control who legally works in the US, including huge fines and even jail for companies / executives who hire illegals. No benefits , drivers licenses, etc for illegals. Strict and swift deportation once caught. End automatic birthright citizenship. Stop allowing legal immigrants to bring in their huge extended families.Parents and children only. Not brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. All that will fix a huge portion of it.

Why are our coffers oh so healthy when these supposed fiscally conservatives have a wall type idea or a war to fight to help their billionaire class buddies cash flow. But we speak of education or infastructure improvements (before trump brought that into gop politics)and then we are broke and can barely afford what we have let alone improve it?

We as common americans share more in common with the average mexican that that class wants you to beleive..... they want a wall to deepen our beleif we are far different than they.... its better for the billionaire class for us to beleive that...

Congrats america for taking us a staep back in progress with this clown autocrat wanna be.

What we do not have in common is we do not control who comes into our country to work. Also own land, get social services, vote? Trump will make us more like our neighbors, Mexican or otherwise who enforce borders and citizenship.

The 'clown autocrat' referring to Trump but better suited to Obama. bye bye

The Asian immigrants seem to have no problem getting educated here. Can not fix a lack of desire to go to school. I was guilty of that, hated school.:dance013:

Speaking from a practical standpoint it is a progressive position to provide an extensive social safety net. This would be much more feasible by having stricter limits on immigration because it can be safely assumed that 95% of immigrants would fall into eligibility. Holding the simultaneous positions of the free flow of people and robust social programs is a recipe for bankruptcy.

Let us not confuse racism and xenophobia with common sense.... I love Mexico, I admire and enjoy Mexican people, but it is simply unsustainable to let endless immigrants (of any country) across our borders.

It is fact that these immigrants do a lot of tough labor jobs that Americans "won't do". But it is also fact that immigrant labor has driven down the wages to a point where they are undesirable for citizens given the facts of life. A generation ago, a brick layer could support his family and have benefits provided through his company. Now because of all the cheap labor out west those same brick layers are making $12 an hour. One can make a better living by collecting disability, which gets easier to qualify for every year..... In the last 8 years the percentage of Americans collecting disability has doubled. Not political, just facts.

So before we get into the philosophical and esoteric sides of policy, we should look at this as if it were our own house. The first rule of surviving is making sure your bills are paid. Would you continue having children or providing a room for adults if you're having trouble paying your mortgage? I think not. So why would a country thats $20 trillion in debt not crack down on how many people we support?

Kind of funny but most Americans don't actually support or agree with the actions of its government.

Aaaah now i get it lol I have always understood this sentence quite differently ... in my language one can understand the sentence also as share and rule lol

Quote from the followink link: "Against the Alans and the Cumans (Kipchaks), the Mongols used divide and conquer tactics by first telling the Cumans to stop allying with the Alans and after the Cumans followed their suggestion the Mongols then attacked the Cumans after defeating the Alans. Alans were recruited into the Mongol forces with one unit called 'Right Alan Guard' which was combined with 'recently surrendered' soldiers, Mongols, and Chinese soldiers stationed in the area of the former Kingdom of Qocho and in Besh Balikh the Mongols established a Chinese military colony led by Chinese general Qi Kongzhi (Ch'i Kung-chih)."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongol_invasions_and_conquests

And a quote from the following link: "The Caucasian tribes, the Alans (Ossetians), the Circassians, and the Lezgians, together with the Polovsti, formed an alliance and put up a fierce resistance to the Mongol invaders on the southern Russian steppe in 1221. The first battle between the Mongols and Caucasian alliance proved indecisive, but Jebe and Subotai had no intentions of withdrawing from the engagement. Instead the Mongol generals resorted to using the strategy of divide and conquer. Jebe and Subotai persuaded their nomadic brethren, the Polovsti, to remain neutral by reminding them of their common Turkic-Mongol fellowship and also by promising to share with them the spoils of victory over the Caucasian tribes. With the success of the subtle diplomacy, the generals returned to battle the Caucasian tribes with greater ferocity and overwhelmingly crushed the stubborn resistance."

Lots of truth in that post, and the bold part is just common sense.

I am married to a Hong Kong citizen. Tried getting residency status there. . . very, very difficult, still don't have it.

I don't blame them one bit, they need to protect their country.

And they happen to be responsible enough to not be trillions of dollars in debt like the US.

For people that don't live in the US and don't know much about the place other than " news " reports. . .

many, many people here kind of feel that they are living in an occupied country. . . that their country has been hijacked by a government that no longer respects the will of its people.

It's easy to say that America is the imperial monster of the world. The fact is that before world war 2 we were largely isolationist. Now after having to go back to Europe twice, sacrifice hundreds of thousands of American lives and plunge our country into an even deeper debt than we are now it should be of no surprise that the US was forced into the "world police" role.

If you were a president during the days of the Soviet Union, would you have let them spread unopposed considering the world was almost overrun by tyrants in the 40's? I think not. Think of that... Europe may be your socialist model now, but they exist because soley because "Imperial America" saved them from the Ottomans and Germans, then the Germans, then the Soviet Union! Living under somones umbrella does not make you peace loving!

In a world full of wolves you need to be a wolf, that is unfortunate and sad but the truth about human history. The actions of governments are a result of the will of the people. Anyone can criticize the "oil wars" in the middle east, but how many of you sacrificed using motor vehicles, or plastic products, or food produced using petroleum fertilizers? Not one of you! You stand on a podium and bellow cries of peace and liberalism but go home and continue consuming the products which necessitate war in the first place. The simple fact that you are using a computer or smartphone to be on this message board right now proves that your consumer activity has supported child labor and pollution overseas! You see; the academia-fueled, I'm going green, elitist, peace loving speeches are filled with great ideas and they love to spread the blame around but never seem to look in the mirror.

Citizens of the US and Europe live lavish life styles which are only maintained by the very actions you speak of. Sure, much of it is terrible. But would any of you give up your car, your computer, your stable food supply, your medical supplies in order to end these wars overseas? The truth is anyone who REALLY cares would resemble the Amish, they would absolutely not participate in modern products because everything is linked to the global stability of oil and natural resources. But none of you REALLY care beyond speaking on forums and using the recycled paper napkins at Starbucks. So you can pontificate about whats right and wrong, but every dollar you spend on goods that fuel this system it might as well be you putting the bullet in the chamber or dropping the bomb from the plane.

No wall does not equal open border... actually cross boarder illegal immigration is down and a huge portion of illegal immigration problems are from folks that arrive on airplanes with proper paperwork but just stay beyond what they were supposed to,

The wall would not sove our problem and would be more of a pholosphical statement than effective. Thats the problem... its a waste of time and resources. For it to be effective would need to be heavily patrolled, that costs money too. . Its not the Mexican that have lowered our wages, its the weakening of unions (even if you dont belong to one they pull wages up for all) we accepted the narrative it was okay to weaken them to help the top and the benevolent top would share more with all if they did well (lie). Its come from corporate welfare disguised as the safety net that should exist, as in letting walmart pay people so little the corporation gives out advice on signing up for safety net programs to its worker, turning a blind eye to companies hiring illegal workers and allowing them in effect to pay starvation wages. We must quit kissing the ring of the billionaire class while blaming every woe on the poor.

Remember the slams against the mexicans and muslims to scare us of them are the same things said about irish, polish, the chinese, etc at other times in our history...

Agreed ("regarding invasion")... and an excellent point. But invasion isn't immigration... it's 'forced control'.

so how do they get so popular and get voted ??

By promising one thing in their campaign and doing another when elected.

But the real issue is a rigged election system that only really allows two choices, that have both been bought and paid for or groomed for the position already.
