Well he is that but no that's not what I was saying. What I was saying is that he's a nut bag that thinks he's a stable genius and I'm having a difficult time deciding on if he actually believes the stuff he says or is he deliberately portraying himself as a nut bag for some unfathomqabl reason? I mean is he laying the ground work now for an insanity plea down the road or does his brain work like a bag full of crazed squirrels.so you're saying he's a whiny little bitch?
I heard an interesting theory as to why so many people believe in the "One Man Army" trope. This idea that only one man can save us all comes from the way we teach history. How we tend to revere historical figures and surround them in myth of being infallible instead of teaching how it was always groups of people who accomplished great things behind the leadership of ___________ who was just some dude/lady who had had enough. Just a subtle difference in how history is taught could be the difference between a smart electorate and what we have now.Well he is that but no that's not what I was saying. I guess what throws me is that so many whole heartedly see him as this super smart guy playing 5D chess and truely believe he's the greatest President ever while the rest of us cringe at the thought he was ever President at all.
Well I would say t's a fairly compelling theory especially when I reflect back on my early school years and the way history was taught and how figures like Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, etc were always elevated to a level that ended up being kind of far from the truth. I wonder if it also helps explain the deep seated distrust we have for authority because when you teach history that way, inevitably the student will grow up and learn more about what really happened and ultimately feel like they've been lied to.I heard an interesting theory as to why so many people believe in the "One Man Army" trope. But then again, a dumb person is much easier to control. Which is why the GOP has been attacking the Education system in this country since before I was born.
It's because they are all caught in a Right Wing INformation Silo and don't want to escape it because out here in the real world nobody likes them.I just don't get why Republicans keep on being so stupid and allowing themselves to be controlled by the petty feelongs of a man that was stupid enough to commit crimes and let himself get caught....repeatedly. Of course I'm talking about thier insistance on moving ahead with an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden even though they have failed to produce a single shred of evidence that he has done anything wrong. I mean the entire country sees it for what it is, a petty attempt to get even for having tried to impeach Trump twicebut there is a big difference. In both of Trump's cases we had proof of impeachable offenses. The only thing they have on Boden is that he fathered a son that while not illegal did reflect badly on his father. By moving ahead on this not only are they killing any hopes of them taking back the senate but they are also risking losing the house in 2024 and along the way they are losing the few remotely respectable Republicans left in Congress. Hell even some of their own MAGA Republicans have gone on record about how wrong this move is. I mean don't get me wrong, I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of actually pulling off an impeachment and even if they do the Democrat controlled Senate will not convict. So if they want to shoot themselves in the foot and kill their chances of gaining power for the next decade I'm only too happy to let them do it.
I hear what you are saying but if itwas me holding a public office, I think I'd rather go out, talk to the people and see if I could come up with something that addresses the concerns of the voters so that they would start to like me and I wouldn't have to hide in an information silo where people act like the like me unless I say something wrong and then they turn on me in a heartbeat Sure I might not get as much money from my corporate sponsers that way but at least I'd have a shot at holding my office and keep having a shot at getting money from my corporate sponsers in the future. It's because they are all caught in a Right Wing INformation Silo and don't want to escape it because out here in the real world nobody likes them.
Seriously. Would you want to go out and have every thought you have be ridiculed and mocked for being pants on head stupid? Or would you rather stay where people tell you that mixing bleach and ammonia together is a good cleaning product?
I get what you are saying and at one point I would have more fully agreed with you. The thing is the very example you cite with how the voters in states reacted when they tried to make the abortion bans more absolute, should have made them wake up and realize their calculations were wrong and that they needed to completely rethink things if they want any kind of a future politically. I'm not talking the MTG's, the Gym Jordans, the Matt Geatz's of the party. They're all fairly young and dumb and all caught up in the attention they get online and for the most part they're lost causes that deserve to be purged from the system. It's because of the feedback loop they've installed the GOP is convinced this IS what their voters want. They fully believe that Likes = Votes, and they're absolutely shocked when their ideas fall flat outside of that little buble they've created.
You've seen it. They still think that reversing Roe V Wade was a popular idea. That's why so many states tried to push it even further and go for total abortion bans only to get slapped around in the following election cycle.
