Chump just got the boot in Maine.
Time for the weasels to rush in and bury this one in bullshit too.
2 down 48 to go. Of course for now they're both symbolic until the Supreme Court weighs in. Hopefully it will give the rest of the states contemplating this the cover they need to go ahead. It doesn't even really matter how they rule, it's actually 3 states down and 47 to go but one of them (Michigan I think) ruled that he gets to stay on the ballot. Every time one rules though it puts more pressure on SCOTUS to come up with a ruling that all states can apply and if the majority are against Trump then it's more likely the SCOTUS will rule against Trump as well.

he can stop worrying about Haley. she wasn't in school for the semester they covered the Civil War and it's causes... :pointlaug
I wouldn't count her out just yet since her answer fits nicely with the Republican agenda of trying to erase that part of American history. So she still may have a shot for the Primary but now by that answer she doesn't have much if any chance of winning the General.

This shows the depth of the division some state supreme courts are capable of deciding that 1-6 was not an attempted overthrow despite the violence, death and fake electoral ballots. I guess Lady Justice really is blindfolded and our democracy is in trouble. People have to want to make the Constitution to work.

Well from what I've heard reported it's not really whether or not Jan 6th was an insurrection, they all pretty much seem to be in agreement on that. The issue seems to be more related to the language used in the 14th Amendment artical 3 and whether or not that includes the President or not. Also some seem to have issue with the fact that in deciding whether or not Trump commited insurrection it has not yet been the result of a court case and therefore Trump is being denied his due process rights. Personally I think the real problem is that given that this is all new territory without any precedent all these lower courts and state election officials are reluctant to take a firm position and would rather that the SCOTUS make the final call. Which if that's the real issue I kind of agree with that. I think it would be bettter for the whole country and lead to less problems if the SCOTUS came up with an official interpretation that all states could go by. Rather then leaving it up to each state to interpret. of course that could still cause issues if they rule outside of an actual conviction in court where Trump was given all his due process rights. Supposedly the SCOTus claims to operate under the concept of stict interpretation based on the original intent of the framers of the Constitution and it's amendments. If that is true then i really don't see any way the SCOTus could rule that the 14th Amendment srction 3 does not apply to the president as well as everyone else specifically mentioned in the language of that Amendment and section 3. I mean if they decide that it doesn't apply to the President then that would mean there is nothing to prevent Biden from just refusing to leave the office if he gets voted out.

he's got what he thinks is a cute nickname for everyone. she's a hell of a lot smarter than he is, but that's a very low bar to cross...:shucks::dunno: he's a lot like his favorite voters, the ones with a room temperature IQ, if that.
Up here the ad says "Nikki "High-tax Hailey". That sounds very orange.

Based on who sold out, like Clarence "The Jetsetter" Thompson.
That's why I said supposedly. Another thing that should supposedly happen if the SCOTUS is all about following the same laws of the land as everyone else is that Clarence Thomas should recuse himself since his wife was involved in Jan 6th to some degree.

At the very least. Even a whiff of impropriety at that level should be grounds for expulsion.
Ol' Clarence definitely got caught with both hands in the cookie jar.

Yeah it's just a shame he didn't get caught with his hands in the Anita Hill Nookie jar all those years ago, then we might have a more balanced court now.

What's that? Republicans really don't give a shit about Border Policy?

they just don't want for the Democrats to get any credit/publicity for supporting any new border measures. they are NOT going to give up the club they keep hitting them with, even if it is good for the nation. it really IS that simple - "fuck this country, i want POWER! :devilish: " you see self-destructive (for their countries) behavior in dictatorships all the time. and the leaders just keep getting "stronger"...:whistling:

Yah and all those power hungry lower level politicians that help elevate their "Choosen One" they get the karma they deserve when their "Dear Leader" takes all thepower for himself and leaves them with nothing, maybe not even their lives. It's amazing how these Authoritarians never seem to learn the lessons of history.
