This has got to be my favorite thread on IC. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to contribute. I think I've read(looked at pictures) through it at least 3 times. I'm about 13 degrees north and plan on getting my plants out in the next couple weeks (Skunk #1 and Skunk #1 x Haze). They're currently sprouting/vegging in the pc cab by my feet (which will become my mother cab). Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd throw out a couple questions to you guys. I'm mainly worried about it flowering too soon and not getting a decent yield.

Edit: No questions for now, as reading through the posts(and not just drooling over the pictures) should answer most of my questions. I plan on eventually harvesting my own coco and using that to grow in.

Hi Chaman, I am tico and feel funny to post in English to a person from here, but to respect the thread.
I started like 5 years ago, and to be honest this thread was a big inspiration for me, I grow indoors and in soil, sometimes I produce my own soil or sometimes I go to EPA, I have tried to grow outdoors but I don't have a terrain, so all the times I've tried I have to abandon the plants, or were eaten by cows, etc.
Indoors I started with the jamaican brick we found in CR, and was good for a first timer, then Notherlights and then white widow, but going back to a notherlights genetics from canada, seeds just starting to open. I have the more experience with these, love the smoke, the smell of the plant, and the short and stable size of the gens.
I do not sell or make this for a living, I'm just on the biggest mariguano that you can find!!!!! I smoke all my crop!!! jjj
Actually all the things I learn from growing I'm using to make a more legit project, I'm growing plants to sell in viveros and market places!!! just looking for the right place to rent.
If you think about it, how much a person like you can teach to one of our farmers!!!!
I know that many campesinos don't have the knowledge, and they suffer for that, both their crops and/or wallets!!!
I am a big fan of this thread,
thank's again Chaman

Im at 9 degs north ,recently had to strip out my grow room. Now my only choice is outside in the jungle .
I do sell some weed to live and feed myself and my dog.

Andyo,
Sounds awesome, jejej and welcome to the great out doors ;)

Pests, and little things that craw in the night...jeje na but the main thing is to read your plants once you've got them going. I'm sure you'll have a nice time while your out side and carring for your plants. Make sure above all things the place is safe.

Keep ups updated

Sativas are my favorite jeje lately i've been try'n to regroup genetics, having a hard time so have been messing around with own crosses of random plants, lots if hybrids in the mist of it all are making things crazy...some plants are born just odd from the start, leafs all retarded and some have the different sizes...jejeje other plants dur to the indica in them being prob more than 75% will flower in 12hrs light/night from the very start and not off anything more than a good joint's worth after a long wait. (sup light would be nessesary but now that we are coming into our rain season I'm with my arms tied fighting molds and cutting early...miss my old Ausie, thai, Laos, Panama, Colombian, Brasil, Bangladesh,African, Mexican and many other pure Sativas that I'd play with specialy for these next few months, Crossed some of these hybrids with some Jamican climatized plants i've had going and the P1's I crossed with a Pure Colombian male too try and get the next generation alot more back to the sativa side of things...hope to gian some vigor, and eliminate the ankle bitting indicas that other than smell and taste...are pretty much just insect and mold magnets. I cut indicas a little early too so not too have that Couch locking feeling and actually feel high, the body they have is great...but not enough head clinching heart racing high that I miss...the kind where you smoke...walk away thinking, maybe I should have had another bowl...not realy high yet, then you notice you repeated everything you had too do the last few hrs becuase you'd mess up the first time and forget things all along the way...kinda like a fumbled football bouncing around awkwardly jeje then your glad you didn't have that other bowl, as you laugh at all the crazy shit you've been doing.. I'm a guitly multi-task person, normaly up to several things at once...jeje so can imagine what happens, and this is why I perfer sativas....Indicas can kill half my motivation and leave me knocked out somewhere along the way, not finishing most of the things I had planned too do that day...smoke after i'm done you say...like a reward ? jeje hell no, wake'n bake and keep it going through the day, weed is my motivator :) so Sativas are always going too be my perfered selection.

Blessings,

Eskimo,
Thanks for taking the time to come by and post my friend....I remember Loaders Bang, Bushman, Mulumbimby Mandness. I miss those strians dearly. Had some home trouble a while back, and lost all my genetics and have been starting from scratch. jeje things are awesome now at home and learned alot from mistakes in breeding last time so hope too get somewhere soon. jeje lucky I have more than 2 seasons a yr and can get the inline breeding going fast. jeje kinda went off there...my intention was to say hi, and send a strong hug your way. I hope things are cool & calm on your side. Themisto

NOM.ZEB,
Sorry it's taken forever bro...yeah I root my sativa clones directly in dirt, and under normal conditions in my greenhouse, no sup...actually the first weeks i've got them in indirect light till the cutts start looking happy agian, then start too move them out from the shade little by little till finaly full fun in the sun. Sativa clones I take soon as I see some nice preflowering going. That way I they won't streach tooooooo much, idea isn't for them too grow in my case, its just to flower faster while I wait for the mother to finish jejee the wait can be long and clones normaly come in a few weeks sooner. I've got some pics of cuts I took when I had to cut back my latest Colombian. I keep the soil pretty moist specialy the first week, secound week I water every other day, third week I hope they got some roots jeje cuase I wait a day more here and there too...in my head stimulate the roots too search for water and get stronger, and prepare better for when I pull the cutts out into sunnier days.

Indica clones or hybird clones due need more light suplemented, or they flower on the spot and get a bud on a stick...Lolypop bud.

Hope that answered your question..., jeje years later.

Leroy Brown,
Hey, plans for the green house..are still just plans. I did do some better ups in my current one, and things are going great ! I do feel that I need more air circulating agian in these last few days the plants have been madd flowering and then suddenly....shitty weather. High humidity in midst of fat flowering and now things slowed down agian...jejee mother nature thinks shes funny...but the good side is I get a rebirth and a secound rejuvination on all flowering plants...just got too be carefull with the inside of my buds as they fatten up, air flow in there gets little too none, and the darkness in the budds is a perfect home for mold, even in the best sativas. Air flow is esential.

kamyo,
Reallly sorry man you had a great question in a crictical time...sorry. Yeah skunks flower sooner out doors for us at our latitude. Some suplement lighting at first months would improve wonders in the yield, but give a longer flower time. Then just flower under natural 12/12 light we have. I'd start them in a cab, or indoors for about 3 monts say out most wet season. Oct-Nov-Dec where more humidity asures more females and young plants love humidity..then pull them put side little by little Jan-feb-march for the killer summer days to flower wonderfully and not rish mold. Skunk #1 is mold prone. Just my opion. Suerte !!!

T.rips
Lots of sites online about home prices, the law sucks just about anywhere you go. Its not legal. They love to mess with you...even if it's just to hold you for a while and make you pass some awefull shame front of people...try to cary the least amout you need is what I say, oh and leave your favorite pipe at home. I had to pay a cop $20 to get mine back, now I carry a spare glass one. They stop cars all the time randome, cops are more about than ever...before you'd be lucky too see one, now they pop up out of no where often. People are layed back, the law isn't. Don't be fooled.

Aleph,
Thanks for stopping by and the kind words. We pretty much are all here to learn from another, one mans mistakes is anothers teachings. Not to mention there is no one correct way too do it...every plant even sisters react dif too dif variebles. Some will do better in X conditions. So there is too much to learn, too much too try out ! jeje B.J.F said I grown too be an old man, but I am still young gardener....something like that. We'll prob never get it prefect, jeje but every time we grow it should be better then the past.

Northen lights is awesome !! jeje very indica, needs some light time but def a favorite, WhiteWidow is very nice too, to think it has a Brazil and High land India sativas in it flips me out jeje cuase it starts like the fat indica Afghan is it ? from its genetics and then finishes like the Inidan/Brazil sativa !! jeje thick buds also got too be watched carefully for mold. Love how both the Northern and the White Widow can sit in my bowl and taste like hash hit after hit, and takes for ever too finish, jeje flip it over...WHats this still fresh buds to smoke !! jejee the white widow expans soo nice too. I have alot of crosses with the brick Jam, and been try'n too work with it alone too. Got a few generations going inline breeding...still 3rd gen down the line and I still find the tall Sativa one now and then ejej thats my favorite style Jam. The shorter more indica ones that don't produce much and jejejee in the end I don't do much after smoking but just sit around ones are my less favorite. Don't get much done when I smoke those jejeje But great for smoking at night before sleeping.

Andyo,
Looking very much forward to any of your out door growing posts in the jungle !!! jeje man you must have too piss all over the place too keep animals from eating your plants ;) Id try too get a jar full of live Praying mantis, and lady bugs too hope and setle in on your plant to protect them and home made Bug repelents (drop of dish soap, lots of garlic and Habaneros liquidfied and in a spray bottle ) and look into some plants that you could plant that might atract the bugs too them and away from your MJ plants. These are some simple things.

Where you must be carefull is getting to your spot...leave no track, take alternate routs, and you can't make a clearing thats too big or it can be seen from above...too little and you only get direct light for 3-4hrs tops (10am-2pm if your lucky due to surrounding trees and brush the rest would be indirect light) you might get longated nodes and week plants streaching and giving less yiellds. the Buds would ne airy too unless the could get some fun in the sun, very interested too see how it goes in real life jejeje not just what I imagine in my head. Please post ! jejej thanks, and be safe bro.

Highlighter !!

Colombianas !!!! jejeje From bricks I had too go back to buy'n and smoke'n jeje man it was horrible looking around from dealer to dealer till finaly finding what I was looking for !! jeje back in the day Colombiana Gold. and Colombiana Creepy genetics...still need too find me Colombiana Red damn it !!! And at the same time I've been doing the same with Jamican bricks...some shitty bricks out there fell'as jejeje but out of the running around and who knows how many bronquitis sufferings jejeje i've found a few keepers indeed.

Jam short and indica.
Jam Sat/indi bout 50/50
Jam Sativa (my favorite)

Colombiana Gold.
Colombiana Creepy.

I've mixed these together, and i've also been working with seeds my friends here started too give back too me from crosses I made whiles back and they then played with on there own, jeje interesting things pop out of the ground thats for sure, many of which have been more on indica sides and not realy my style, but jejeje much appriciated and enjoyed...just hate that they go so quick !! jeje yields are small. but they give me something too smoke while I wait for the Saly's

here are a few pics...lost the rest some how. I hate this iphone...Sincornized on another computer and erased all my things more than once.

Blessings

can't see it... but I had started 5 Colombians in a 3 gall pot. One went hermie at 3weeks, and pulled it. One flowered, and finished under 4 months and was little under a meter tall, just one long bud, no branches. Saved those seeds jejeje

2x Creepy style ones...grow up really tall can then as the flowered they just couldn't take the wieght, and become like flexible vines, had too tie them all up, jeje Creepy cuase they creep along the floor if you let them drop and just see lots of Colas sticking up jeje but they would be in too much shade too tied them up towards the light as much as I could. They finish at about 8months plus. Got those seeds, mixed them with Jam, and my friends and mines crazy mixes too see. these buds are more fluffy and airry but really crazy great high so hope too fatten them up with the hybirds and get a better yeild and with luch a more mold resisten plant and vigor.

The tall one jeje cut her back 2x...the first time she was still young, and jsut barely sexing. Hit the roof, cutt her back about a meter and half (4-5feet) bout chest hight. Then she grew back real nice, jeje but lots of colas starting to flower hitting up agains the roof...su cut her back and took clones from all the tops. They are doing great ! and as she flowered agian she hit the roof all over...but the wieght of the buds was too much and snaped the main stem...I tied up the branches too the roof for more support, the branches came back to life !! jeej and are getting really fat now.

We have been going into summer for a while now...some reason people up north can't get there shit strigh jeje and are still talk'n about walk'n around in shorts with a sweater...Untill winter hits all ya'lls up there jeje we keep getting really sunny nice days...then suddenly a patch of rain for a few days. This has been making all my plants fatten up incredibly. They all rejuvinate each time....so not mad, just worried now jeje cuase the humidity gets too be tooooo much around the really fat buds now, soo I'd be much happier if summer just really kicked in and let her finish beautyfully !!! Starting seeds now sucks...got too really water them, keep an eye on them from birds, and insects that love young sprouts too. Not to mention I seem too get more males in dry weather.

Well I didn't post the names and crosses....looking back now, gone try and figure out whos who and see about posting the info.

oh and really cold windy nights, and hot days have made all the points of my Colombians go a nice nice nice purple !! jeje like a nice purple haze this show'd me the other day jeje Except mine has a sour diesel, gas, sweet xmass smell jeje can't put a finger on it just yet, but is a nice example of a Colombian Gold/ can't see the yellow gold triat leafs cuase i been pulling them as they yellow out too not call out too much attention...yellow marijuana leaf sticks out alot in a green mass of buds. Reminds me of a Corinto monster Raco used to talk about jejeje

Thanks Chaman. This thread is legendary and should be a mandatory read for any outdoor growers, especially those growing in the tropics. It's amazing to watch a pure indica grow to only a few inches before flowering. I'm a few weeks away from harvesting a pretty well-balanced hybrid (Sam's skunk/haze mix). She's about 18 inches tall, so I'm sure there's enough sativa in her to keep her in veg for at least that long. Either that or just hybrid vigor. Always wanted to be able to post pictures in this thread. Grown at 13n with days starting to get shorter. We're right in the middle of the shortest days at about 11.5hrs daylight.
