TOTALLY RANDOM POST II

Headed in to get a back-pack/duffle with hidden straps, wheels and an extendable handle, legal for carry-on size restrictions on aircraft.

Stuff that I looked cross-eyed at 20 years ago, wondering who the hell would need such a thing??!!...

20 years later... ME!! That's who!!

It's demeaning in a way to meet age head-on, and come to the realization it's winning.

It's like my driver's license is being taken away, and I'm being given a pair of training wheels or an adult tricycle!!

Next thing you know, they'll be feeding me pre-ground food!!

Who's to blame for this??!! There must be someone!!

As it is, I already grab the larger grocery cart, no matter how many items I'm buying. Took my younger son a while to catch on that I wasn't intentionally depriving him the 'gift' of steering the cart through the store as a matter of meanness; it's my fucking WALKER, for Christ's sake!!

Yeah. Same here! I have false teeth now. I take Cialis in order to jiggle the Missus. My spine is as stiff as my dick used to be. It takes me an hour before I can focus on tele after trimming my grow. But my hearing is fantastic! It is said the hearing is the last to go ...

Nah, I had specific ranges of tone in my hearing that were scuttled 25-30 years ago; aircraft/helicopters, rock concerts, motorcycles, chainsaws, machineguns/firearms/ported firearms, and who knows what else.

The most commonly hollered word in our home is "WHAT????!!!"

The television in our bedroom has speakers that face the wall behind it. (who thought up that shit??!). Close to full volume, it frequently sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher to me. My wife and younger son want to get me wireless head-phones, but if they think I have difficulty hearing them now, just wait 'til I'm wearing a head-set!!

And paying $4,000 to $6,000 for a hearing aid offends my sensibilities.

Still doing OK in the conjugal relations department, but for a guy who once carried 100 lbs. of gear 20+ miles a day on a fairly regular basis, and did farm work, logging, etc., the new and somewhat abrupt limitations (brought on by a seriously pinched spinal cord) are humbling, indeed.

I may get some of that strength back following some spine surgery, or I may find that I would've been better off to just let the limbs, etc., fail at their own pace. I'll know soon enough!!

Picked up the roller-pack/duffle. JESUS!! It's got enough pockets for straps, etc., it may draw more attention at the airport than I really need!!

I share joints with my dad like its totally normal. I couldn't imagine doing this 10 years ago. Turns out he really likes Strawberry Cough and doesn't care much for indicas. What are some strains I can grow for him? I'm thinking he would dig good ole' fashion blue dream.

Only strains I might recommend, Squall, would be purely my own preference, from the limited varieties (maybe 20?) I've grown, and the very limited couple I've sampled from the rec stores.

Like your dad, I prefer Haze or Sativas. Even some of them put me down and make me more worthless.

I can speak highly of Strawberry Sour Diesel, though I killed her for not pulling her weight in productivity. She was pretty stellar.

Super Lemon Haze barely escaped the hatchet, as she's not a huge producer, but did better for me that the SSD, and is pretty darned good.

A very cerebral high, morphing into a bit of a body high, and also now deceased here, was Barney's Farm LSD. Very smooth smoke, more of an up high, etc.

Tijuana by Blim Burn Seeds, while bad-mouthed in the reviews/write-ups, was quite pleasant and potent. She was a better producer, though not huge, but with my mix, had weaker stem structure than was ideal, and I guess I got bored with her.

Goji OG (I have 2 of her) is awesome; good structure, good production, good high.

And currently, my Ghost Train Haze #1 gets pretty high marks, though she's been kept alive for her potency, unique stone, scent, and flavor.

Widow Bomb? My version is from Bomb Seeds; their Widow Bomb. Medium high in production, potent, but mind-enhancing, and a great 'thought-provoker' for me. Unique scent and taste as well.

For posterity, I picked up a gram of Acapulco Gold, at a local retail outlet, grown by Greatland Ganja. Classic stem to bud structure of the way-back original, and pretty potent; if I recall correctly, some place near 15% to 17% THC.

There's only maybe several hundred other strains out there, and the numbers keep on increasing every time someone chucks some pollen. Ought to be an easy choice.

Thanks Moose. He once smoked too much LA Pure Kush and it almost floored him lol.

Strawberry Sour Diesel sounds promising. Love SD crosses. A favorite of mine was Loud Berry which is AJ's SD x Spicy Jack. Wish I still had some more of that stuff.
Goji OG has actually always been on my wish list, just haven't picked up the beans yet. I'm a firm believer that you can go wrong with anything Bodhi.

I've heard you mention Ghost Train Haze #1 before, so I'll keep that one in the back of my mind.

With recreational shops opening in a little more than a month, I hope sample a lot of different sativas. I've always been a more Indica guy, but the last year or so the pendulum has been swinging the other way.

You're welcome, Squall.

As energy changes with age, some find a couch-lock more inviting, and some of us (me included) suffer couch-lock just waking up each day. ;^>)

I thought about it a bit more, and I've probably grown maybe 30-40 varieties over time, rather than the 20 or so I originally estimated. Many/most/all had their own unique pluses and minuses.

I think the idea of sampling items from the rec stores, and finding one that suits taste buds, effect, etc., and going with that, is a good way to go for your Pop. Acknowledging that different phenotypes from the same strains, not to mention variances from different cultivation techniques, feeding, etc., can create some notable differences among plants that are supposed to be the same critter; that can change things up a bit, and lead to elation or disappointments too.

We've had some varieties that out of 10 seeds, we sometimes saw nearly that many different plants... from the same packet of seeds.

The difference between truly stable genetics, and someone chucking pollen and calling themselves a breeder. Like referencing a madam at a brothel as a geneticist skilled in family planning, to some degree. ;^>)

But we've all got our place under the Sun. ;^>)

I figure Mick Jagger & I are like matter and anti-matter; he claims to not need coke anymore, as his motor's perpetually running. I constantly need jumper cables, and the only thing perpetually running for me is verbage. Yes, I wake up talking. Sometimes surprised to hear what I have to say in that half-wakened state, myself. ;^>)

Mick might like a true Indica, where as anything shy of a stout Haze or Sativa for me, and you may as well slip me 3 Quaaludes; the effect will be about the same.

I received a seed order last year, and the freebies (thankfully, mostly un-grow-able, they were in such bad shape), were 3 seeds from a seriously hardcore Indica,
resulting in the most sarcastic and monotone 'Thanks' I've heard uttered since someone bumped into Eyore while being pulled by a kite on 'Windsday.' ;^>)

I hear ya Moose and think its about time to up my game. I originally started growing to simply opt out of overpaying for subpar weed. Mission aaccomplished, however, there have been times where I knew a plant was special and I should take a cut, but didn't have the room. It would be nice to have a few strains on hand where I can expect consistent results.

Sorry for the tragedy, water. Sometimes life changes abruptly, sending no advance notice. Stark reminder of each and every minute's uniqueness. Sometimes those left behind need that check.. Though the price of the lesson is steep.
