TOTALLY RANDOM POST II

I always thought it was about spiritual and emotional struggles, and seeking Cosmic/metaphysical consoling or acceptance.

When we did a teach-in in 2001/2002 re. the USA PATRIOT ACT, Homeland Security Act, etc., at the end of what was a trying time, during open mic time (an opportunity for folks to express themselves), a younger vibrant woman with a beautiful voice came to the mic and sang, without notice, an a capella version of, 'Let it Be'. A memorable time.

It was the cherry on the sundae, and I collapsed into a recliner out back, behind the curtain.

I started using a grinder in the past few weeks. I grind a bud then pack my bong bowl with enough for one huge bong hit from the pile I grindered up. I get really high. Now I need a good grinder. This one was $6 at the cornerstore

dang!!! it was 5:30am and suddenly I hear a buzzing nearby my right ear, I turn to see a wasp circling me & the swag lamp over my table, about the 3rd swing w/my fly swatter sent it tumbling to the ground where I promptly did a little 2 step on that flocker.......

We use a 1-1/2 hp with a #32 head on it, and a sizable feed tray. Trouble is, so few people roll 1-kilo joints any more. Hard to find a proper occasion to bring it out. So it sits under a bag in the basement, and reminisces about the good old days, back when people actually used that giant paper in the Cheech & Chong 'Big Bambu' album..

According to an article in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner (newsminer.com) a group of graduating seniors (and others?) thought they'd celebrate their event by holding a kegger..... on school property.

Was this an example of a failed effort at hiding in plain view, or evidence that it's become WAY too easy to get a high school diploma?

Driving into town yesterday, listening to the radio (Alice Cooper's show on the classic rock station) he played 'If 6 was 9,' the classic Hendrix tune from the 'Axis Bold as Love' Lp.

It initially sounded like Hendrix's tune (though I admittedly have a compromised stereo in the vehicle I was in, and lots of road noise). But as the vocals kicked in, I could tell it wasn't Hendrix, though the instrumentation sounded nearly just like Hendrix.

I wondered if this wasn't a re-make/'cover' by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band or maybe Johnny Lange.

Nope, after being very impressed by the whole thing, Alice announced after it ended that it was from a Todd Rundgren Lp where Rundgren did a whole side of an album as covers, including the 'If 6 Was 9' cut, with Rundgren playing all the instruments involved, including the guitar work.

I was really impressed. Well done!! The things I missed back then!

"If the Sun, refused to shine
I don't mind, I don't mind...
If all the hippies, cut off all their hair..
I don't care, I don't care.
"cause I got my own world to live through,
and I ain't gonna' bother you..."

Yo!! Jimi!! Thanks!!
