NitrTiger, whats happenin brotha. Looking good over at your place. Ladies are looking good. Babies coming up strong. I like that name brain warp. Makes my head dizzy just saying it lol.
The reviews I've heard of the Brain Warp actually aren't all that great. Given the fact that only 4 out of 10 beans popped, I can see why. But we'll give them their chance.
I will, however, state that if I need to make room for the GH White Rhinos, those Brain Warps are gonna be the ones to go.
Damn that sucks, with a name like brain warp you would think, but I know we can only hope that its dank.
Thats right on you got those GH white rhinos. Nothing like free beans. I threw down some of GH's Hawaiian Snow thats going well. Dont know how good I can grow it but I gotta overcome my fears some time LOL 12-14 weeks is a long time indoors man. We'll see how it goes in time.
Wow NT, you sure have done a crap load of stuff since I last looked at your post. I have gone through a lot since i last talked to you. Moved again, and got a much larger closet to grow in, and i got a great internet connection thanks to comcast. found out that my meter from fisher is still on backorder and they want me to order a new one or let them know if i still want the same one. backordered for over 3 months now. so i still dunno what im gonna do. i have everything else 'cept for a camera, and genetics in hand. anyhow im back around now, and just wanted to let you know. caught up on your grow situation and once again im sitting on the side.
First off, I've revamped the veg room. Cleaned it up and organized it, and got rid of the fluoros. They just weren't working out. Too large, and both the clones and the seeds seemed to prefer the 400w MH at a distance than the fluoros up close.
As you can see, the veg room has much more space and is much neater now
The biggest clone got moved to its DWC bucket today. Filled it with a weak nute solution, PHed to 6, to just over the bottom of the net cup. Once she gets established, I'll lower the nute level to below the cup, and increase the nute dose. The plan is to do a new batch of nutes every week, since I don't have a TDS meter. She'll spend about a week in veg before she moves over to the flower room. If any part of that is wrong, let me know, this is my first official trip down the hydro road (besides a couple of experiments).
The smaller clone moved into her soil pot to begin her journey to motherhood. Since this is soil that I've used before mixed with unused soil, she just got plain water.
Still only two Mississippi Muds have popped up. I'm starting to get a bit uneasy, but I know it's still early yet.
The Brain Warp seedlings got a dose of the heavy veg nutes last night, and they love it!
Now, let's slip on over to the flower pod, where the Sweet13 is on day 11. Ahhh, seeing all those budsites with direct light just gives me the shivers This is a top down shot, if you couldn't guess
The White Rhino's have all cracked, they'll be moving into cups tomorrow. That'll be updated in the Test Grow thread.
so basically your clones rooted after all hey? cool news, i'm actually doing my first ever earo cloning with a bubbler. one died within hors of being in the bubbler. but the rest seem fine. my mothers are too big and too old. so i took 7 each of the SD 2 and 5 and about 15 ww, the fastest rooted ones will be the new mothers. so i'm hoping my bubble cloner works, lol.
anyway remember one shouldn't judge a plant before smoking her. that Brain Warp sounds like it's worth growing out. in the end it's not the numbers that matter so much as the pheno that you get. this is gonna be all round very interesting, the mississippi mud is another lady i look forward to seeing in bloom.
If you look in the lower right hand corner of the veg room pic, you'll see the other four still giving it the old college try
They've actually perked up a bit after they got out under the MH, kinda the opposite of what I'd expected. My rule still stands - one tiny sign of life and they stay
I did the same thing as far as which one became the new mom. She's the smaller of the two rooted clones, but she rooted first.
Yeah, you're right, everything should get its chance. And it will. At least, as long as I can make the room
Ahhh, just finished my first day of training at the new job, and had to share, because I'm super excited about it. I'm doing incoming call order taking for a shop at home place - at home
Work from home rocks ass, plus you get up to two dollars for each upsell. Work at home guys are pulling checks for 2 grand on big shopping days, plus bonuses.
Did I mention full benefits, including dental, vision, and matching 401k? The paid time off hours started accruing from orientation, and I can use themas soon as I get out of my 90 day probation period.
I went and checked on my garden during lunch! And rest assured, as soon as I've got some smoke (so long since I've had kind ), I'll be tokin' it up at work.
NiteTiger, fuck that work shit. Grow weed man. Number one crop in America hands down man. Lots of money to be made all the way around bro. Work at home growing weed instead. Stop wasting your time answering the phones and take care of your ladies. They will reward you.
Just giving you shit man. I know peeps have to work, just sounded like you were selling the job when you started talking benefits and 401k.
Hey when it comes to cloning whats going wrong? How you cloning. I consider myself the cloning master if you will cause I have just about a 100% success rate. Have you seen my home made clone machine? You can build them many different ways, with different styles of operation with near perfect success rates. You can clone in a glass of water if you maintain the oxygen level in it. If you need any help with cloning, I am more than happy to help.
Heya BG! Yeah, I think I've found a job that goes hand in hand with my lifestyle about as well as any could
damakkus - I think my cloning problem is just one of lack of experience. Part of it may also be that the clones came off of a reveg, I've heard they can be a bit tougher to clone. But probably just a lack of experience. And even with that, like I said, none of the clones has actually full out died, just taking longer than you would expect.
And yeah, I know, most guys with the equipment to run a 4kw grow aren't out hunting hourly jobs, but I'm the exception I'm one of the few that can't make any cash off of it - just don't have anywhere for it to go. If you'll look back in the first couple of pages, I was talking about how I may downgrade my setup, depending on how much this round yeilds, since 4 ounces would cover me well until a new crop could come in, and anything over that would just kind of pile up.
But nah, I wasn't selling the job, just extremely psyched about it. Not often you find a work at home position that offers benefits and pay like that.
I took a look back at the clones and I can see a few things I might be able to help you on. From the photo I could see 4 that wouldnt make it without a humidome. They should only fall like that for the first 24 hrs then perk up. If they dont perk up they are not taking in and retaining moisture. To help with this I take a cutting and place it in a glass of cool tap water for about an hour before I place it in the cloner. Now another thing that I am not solid on 100% percent but from my experience run only pure water until the stems start whtening to build the root formation. The stem will start looking a little bumpy where the root tips are going to form, this is the time I have found is best to add nutrients. If pics will help let me know. I think I may have some that have not rooted yet. Here is what my home made machine looks like.
Yep damakkus, I agree 100%. When I saw those clones droop over and not come back up, I knew they were in for a rough ride, especially without a humidome. Didn't help at all that I forgot to trim the leaves back a bit. But yeah, pure water is all that's in there. A humidome of some sort is definitely on my list for the next round. Rooting hormone too
As it stands tonight, I've got two that are almost certainly goners, but two, surprisingly, have put out tiny tiny sets of new leaves. No roots, but new leaves.
I'm guessing what happened was the large leaves gave up their moisture a lot quicker than the rootless stem could replace it, and died off. However, the stem was taking up some moisture, just enough to stay alive. Kinda like life support. Now, they've been able to put out new leaves, but those leaves aren't big enough to convert enough energy for rooting.
We'll keep an eye on 'em, see if they can pull through, because they are fighting like hell, and I gotta give 'em that chance
BTW, all the White Rhinos went into peat pucks tonight.
Nite Tiger, IMHO if the unit is working properly no humidomes or gels will be needed. And this I know for a fact. To root a clone all that is needed is oxygenated water. Is it possible the next time you go to clone to show a pic of your bubbler without the lid? also Kinda in action minus the clones? The photos I saw of your unit from the outside you should have just near perfection results if not perfect. Something is a mis. I am sure it is something minor.
I am glad to hear the WR went down. I went 4 for 5 on The Church. The 5th has a chance but I dont have the time or the space to wait on it. Few more days and if not its gotta go.
Yep, I can do that. Only thing I can think of that might be outta whack is that the air hose has slipped over to one side, which may be disrupting the bubbling action. Come to think of it, the two that made it were on the side the air hose slid to.
Like you said, little things
And yeah, I know that the humidome is necessary, but I can't help thinking that my 23% RH couldn't be helping any
Either way, it'll be a while before I'm doing any other cloning. The main point here was to preserve the Sweet13 genes, and I managed to do that, if only by the skin of my teeth
Nono, the humidome is NOT necessary at all and I do know that for a fact.
I am glad you were able to keep your genetics going. The next time you clone or anybody else, it shouldnt be by the skin of their teeth but rather with assurance and confidence of success.
Sorry I came in here like I know everything, I just wanted to help when I read you were having trouble with the clones. It is the one area I do shine in and wanted to pass that knowledge over to you. If you ever need help with it dont hesitate to ask. I am more than happy to help.
