Funny u say that... I known for the worst pics ever... Every now n then though i get one like this.... Was taken with my shitty metro pcs phone 39.99 one.. Been though hell cracked busted scratched up... I actually have friends ask to come by n take pics for me.... Not sure if its jokin or 100% serious....
But thanks for the compliment.... Imo that pic does do the plant justice.... But imagine it with a competent photographer.... or in person....

holly molly!

I just found this thread in all its epic-ness!

I havn't read it all the way through yet... but man.

Thaibliss's definition of trippy is definitely not my definition of trippy. Nonetheless I think I seek a high of a similar sort. Perhaps not the same herb though it is always so subjective.

There was this shwag I smoked in central America in the late 90's and its high haunts me in a good way. Like this moment where everything felt as it should that endured the length of the high. It wasn't the strongest by any means it wasn't racy, just up clear focused with strong antianxiety anti-depressant qualities. Like that moment when you have just finished a good book and you are still basking in its glow and it all came together the way it was suppoced to.

It was full of seeds and I just tossed them out. ugh. It had a flowery lemony citrus scent was bricked and very sticky. There was also this kind of fermenting scent and the bud was extremely dark and I think some fermentation probably had occurred.

I have had a few sativa indica hybrids since with limonene terps but none had that warmth and like spiritual component that the shwag did.

As far as "trippy" the way I conceptualize is nothing compares to when I first started smoking which was also shwaggy patty. I remember hearing echos and rolling down hills laughing in a swirling echo chamber of laughter that was a part of some like meta cosmic rhythm I had tuned into. It all made perfect sense, everything was one big cosmic joke. There was a delirious quality to the experience.

I also once picked up this batch of super spicy outdoor like peppercorns and cedar, I just remember the guy saying that it was very rare super old school. It was trippy yet clear and euphoric it had a warm upward pull through the chakras that was easy to direct and focus but it was trippy in this way that like... what ever I would focus on I would constantly have like mini epiphanies that would get more and more meta until they returned to right where I started in my focus. It was really social smoke too but in a different way than that shwag from central America.

I also once came across a strain in a dispensary that had a sharp acrid guava smell that was very distinct. It was a hybrid but it had a clear sativa effect that felt incredible. The terps were so distinct and narrow that it limited the high, I always thought that one would be amazing in crosses though. Like that one crossed to the shwag in central America or something that would expand the terpene range.

What I typically think of as trippy are strains that have this component to the high where my focus seems fixated in a way I feel somewhat forgetfull while my mind is racing in a way I do not enjoy. Which I have experienced with some of the modern power hybrid clones that seem to focus on only a particular aspect of the sativa spectrum. It depends on tolerance but if you quit smoking for a while, like several months, and try some of the modern clone onlys it will trip me out, but it isn't necessarily pleasant until you get the tolerance to a certain level again. I don't really enjoy most of the clone only popular strains but their is no denying their distinctness and power.

It pisses me off that I reminess about this golden moment in the Fng past. I want some smoke that will treat me that way now!

Welcome Croissant,

I'm glad you found "The Search..." thread. You obviously have been on the search, and know exactly what I'm talking about. See my quoted snippets of your post above. I'm happy for the great post about it here. Thanks.

I wish I could share some of my SAGE or one of the good Bangi Hazes I have had. My "life is good" SAGE sounds a bit like your "everything felt as it should". This is also the feeling of Thai Stick after you endure the adrenaline rush, or build up the tolerance that you mention. You might find what you are looking for in the Big Sur Holy Weed.

well since it's a party,

i figure the mental/spiritual environment of the grow has something to do with the high.. if you're looking for a trip, don't treat your plant like a piece of hardware. and try not to cultivate preconceptions and expectations. i'm sure someone tosses these thoughts in the convo every 10 pages or so when spirituality comes up.

the other criteria i keep my open for is *parallel* leaves - as seen in delta-9's famous mekong haze pic... my seedsman haze did that, and i very rarely see it exhibited in all the sat strains online.. i'd like to see it again, so i'm saying... look for it.. ribbon leaves on the colas, not thin not pinnate, ribbon...

i bet i could look through a hundred pages of this thread without seeing ribbons.

man i get all sad looking at that. $12 for a pack of 10 seedsman originals. then i had to split the country. can't civilisation preserve one decent thing while they're busy thrashing my ass?

I'm getting all kinds of bad vibes with this LA Confidential. The weather has been great, reaching in the upper 80s everyday. Even when the weather is great, this area just promotes mold with the cool and dewy mornings. This L.A. Con should be grown in L.A. I guess. I love the peppery hashy smell, but it is going to have to be one great high to tolerate this mold magnet plant again:

This Nepal Jam is much more mold resistant, despite being a bit late for this area also:

Bangi Haze, Black Afghani Domina, Fruity Pebbles, and Easy Peasy are in the shed. Fruity Pebbles is the hands down most pungent, but that Bangi Haze is sooo perfumy and enticing.

My old faithful personal line, Dank Dank, is the second most... well... dank. The buds are twice as big as the LA Con's buds, yet not a hint of mold... so far (knock on wood). I just hope I find the Burmese, Seeing God, or Skunk #1 high come through in one of these plants. It is starting to smell very hashy now that it is nearly ripe, like the Purple Looker strain in the lineage that all the WLD lovers worshiped so much. Time will tell.

Fruity and hashy, but I know there was lemon menthol in there also. I feel pretty good about it when I smell it. Brings back good memories.

I have a lot of sampling and culling to do this year.

afaict the thing with l.a.c is taste or "mouth" - creamy thick smoke, good luck keeping the mold out and taste pure.

haha lol yes...

It reminds me of in that FIlm the Truman Show, where he pines for the girl that got away and he spends his intimate moments trying to reconstruct her out of the images of other women.

What do you mean by parallel? Are you referring to the leaves curling at the ends or something else? Whichever it is, the look of the leaves is far more likely the result of improper nutrition and possible poor environmental conditions as well, rather than some perceived oddity.

Some photo's of my thai crosses and my Cobs of Golden tiger x Zamal

the wispy buds are the ones that I was talking about being ugly but ultimate in flavor and trip quality.

The Crosses all came out this year

The one with lattice is one plant grown sideways !!

it was one of my first grows, no doubt imperfect. perhaps you want to concentrate more on the term "ribbon".

Hi Lacocina nice buds and those cobs have every chance of being something very special.
Those are my two favorite strains what you cant get from them isn't worth getting IMO
Feel free to post pictures and high reports. (Sorry for highjacking Thaibliss but I had to know)

With that product you'll kill mycorrhizae too. You can decrease the chance on budrot significantly by giving Ca. If you have mold you can give less water or do wathever to lower relative air humidity like higher temperatures, or even better cool air is coming in and hot air is coming out which is done easy in a greenhouse, impossible outdoors and inside the air in the whole room you grow in must be ventilated, not just the grow tent, or part of the room you grow in, because at the end that air stays the same.
If the plants grow outside you can shake them off in the morning.

You are not highjacking the thread at all. That is exactly what this thread is for. I want everyone to discuss trippy or highly cerebral strains here, as well as how to best grow them, breed, cure, cobb, use, memories of, politics/history, how to best photograph them... Blah, Blah, Blah...

The simplest and cheapest way to prevent budrot is spraying with 1 part skimmed milk, 9 parts water. Might sound crazy but has been proven as effective as chemicals.
