The Search for Trip Weed

I am so pleased with having read the Nanan Bouclou smoke report here by ThaiBliss. I have yet to experience the female buds of this strain but the male provided a glimpse into the clarity of the head high in it.

Today I did the final seed harvest at 15 weeks off a non-auto AK-47 / Lowryder cross that was a very close second to Amnesia Haze when I did the first seedless harvest around 6 weeks ago. The AK-47/LR had a very balanced head/body high with mild closed eye visuals. Nothing spectacular but it would keep most people happy I would guess.

This harvested bud is overripe for the benefit of seed development so I think it will be a very heavy stoney smoke or maybe even so gone it's rubbish but it's just a resin bomb. I handled a small number of buds <8 all up and my 2 right fingers and thumb were coated in enough resin to rub together an eighth of a matchstick head size hash ball. Its buds are so sticky and resinous it's the only plant that had some bud mould (white penicillium type and not in the plant material but between the bud spaces; living plant material was not being damaged) noted 2 weeks ago which forced me to butcher more than half the remaining plant from initial harvest to save what seeds I could. The buds are semi fluffy but the resin is just phenomenal and coats everything. It has a very strong pine sap smell with a small dash of black pepper and spice.

I think the Nanan-Bouclou pollen I used to pollinate this one may improve it and I have one seed from the butchering 2 weeks ago that I popped just as a germination test but I ended up keeping when it emerged. It's parent AK-47/LR plant described above had very angular serrations and diamond shaped leaflets with a petiole splitting unusual growth to its leaflets. I'll have to dig up the pictures to show this later but I have never seen this leaf style before.

The AK47/LR:NB cross seedling is just putting out its second set of true leaves and they are wide leaf phenotype so far but I'm looking forward to getting a very tiny glimpse into this line and will grow out properly hopefully this year. If it keeps the resin production but loosens up bud stucture from the sativa influence it may turn out nice.

I know that I should probably just make Nanan-Bouclou my next dedicated grow but having smoked a very head oriented Nevil’s haze for the past 4 days I am missing the body high. The Nevil's is so electric and edgy that you get so high it feels as if you aren't at times until you move or change focus and then the high is obvious. It doesn't have a rounded sense of awe of things that I like alot. I rarely sensed wonder or awe with it.

I love the memories of trip weed. I remember them well but only one thing beats trippiness for me and that is weed that leaves you sensing the world like a child and full of awe at the majesty of everything around you. Everything is significant and linked etc. Anyhow enough rambling from me.

I'm going to stress a pack of Nebula this summer, fems from Paradise, and see if I can get some pollen. The strain has the next level high and good structure but needs bred into something with stronger flavor.

Nebula is one of the few modern strains that can hang with the old school, in terms of the high IMO. Its like an indica version of trip weed, IMO.

Sounds very nice and interesting.

As far as feminised seeds go I was in a similar situation but I had very few seeds of each feminised type as they were all freebies given in ones or twos. My dilemma was whether I selfed each feminised plant to get another bunch of self-similar seeds but I have read this is bad genetically so used an unrelated true male to pollinate in the end.

In your situation with more than 2 fem seeds I think it would pay to reverse a branch off all the plants except the selected mother and mix the collected pollen up and pollinate one branch of the selected mother with it. You would end up with a much more diverse group of feminised seed genetics in that strain to then work further with.

Second Hand Smoke Report

Second Hand Smoke Report

Greetings,

I met with one of my old patients last night. While chatting, she brought up an assessment of one of the Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed crosses I grew. She is doing some trimming for me and said "you know that stuff I'm working on for you right now, oh my God", and then did this:
:jawdrop:
This is from one of my indica/hashplant loving patients. In the past she has said that "weed is all the same, some just taste better than others". To her credit, after I explained the type of high I am after, she has identified Nanan Bouclou as good, a "wake and bake" type, and said it tasted really good.

Because of her perspective, I asked her what she meant by OMG. She said it was strong. She went to a party after smoking some, and couldn't stop talking to people. She seemed to really like it a lot.

It appears that the Bangi Haze I selected to cross with my Wicked Weed brought the quality of the high with it. I favored the Bangi Haze selections with the clearest high and the most positive loving attitude it brings. It is irie, and trippy! Some Bangi Haze individuals were stronger, but this beautiful high is rare. I think the Congolese in it's ancestry is special. I will be exploring more Congolese in the future.

If you previously read, I'm again mentioning that the patient that I gave some of the other Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed plant that I grew to said that it was the best I had ever provided him. He likes the kind of high I like, and has tested almost all of what I have been growing the last few years.

My conclusions are as follows. Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed maybe my most successful cross ever. An extended time of testing my Wicked Weed line has led me to believe that I finally turned a corner with regard to bringing back the trippy and cerebral nature of most of what Wicked Weed was composed of. I had used an indica in the line once, and it cost me dearly for many years in loss of the effect that I covet. The recent Bang Haze mother plant appears to have solidified this progress. It is time to move on to the next generation. Bangi Haze is now part of Wicked Weed, and I'm not going back anymore. Any future backcrosses will be to Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed.

I'm reposting the great Bangi Haze mother here again:

Another conclusion is that I got lucky and chose the right Wicked Weed father. I tend to chose phenotypes that are exceptionally different or unusual than most of the siblings. When doing so, I find that the smoke is exceptionally worse, or exceptionally better than the rest of the population. Apparently, I got a good father this time. Both of the children from this cross that I grew are getting outstanding reviews.

I have been growing and judging the same generation of Wicked Weed for about 10 years. The father from Wicked Weed that I chose was more lemony and tart than the rest of the population. It was also more sativa in structure than most, and it had long narrow leaves. I have seen a couple of females pop out of the population that reminded me, phenotypically, of Thai, but both were disappointments. This father of the cross is the first male I have found to look so narrow leaf. It looks to be a winner. I will test one of Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed children for myself next weekend.

Here is a picture of the Wicked Weed father:

Here are repostings of the pictures of the two Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed offspring. It surprised me how the weakling looking mother crossed with a skinny leaf father produced plants that were so robust and productive:

Thanks Mister bliss for your regular posts, I like them a lot

Im into similar highs I guess
I'm growing several Congo genetics this season looking for a clean clear stimulant high, able to focus for work if needed
I read you didn't like the ciskei as much as the bangi haze so it was tossed
How many individuals did you grow?

For this season I germinated ciskei crossings, king Kongo and Durban punch
They might be of your interest as well

Hi 48N,

I grew 3 Ciskei. I have some King Congo seeds stashed away. Please post your progress and eventually you smoke reports on those here on this thread. I'm sure they would be of interest to everyone.

Thanks,

Hi Mountain,

Did that Mekong High sample ever clear up and resemble what you got from the first sample of it? I hope so. It's a shame to lose genetics that make you feel so good. That happens so often though. Something will come around again.

I had one Narrow leaf dropping leaves BH just like yours last season, now I'm keeping the last remaining few buds for a special occasion, is killer smoke, the kind you can smoke and get high all day without feeling wasted in the evening
Hit here with some Queen mother Pollen, a friend is currently growing the offsprings under HPS, looking forward for some cured buds to test.

King Congo should be interesting, the Congo P.N. seems to have some trippyness inside. I had a single Cognition(C.P.N. x H.Nepalese) seed plant outdoors and a clone indoors which had a type of effect I never had with any other bud. A very clear yet mind altering experience, later I found there were some similarities with the effect I got from some magic mushrooms(small dose). The plant looked to be very Congo P.N. dominant.

It's a cross I'd recommend to try if anyone's interested in such effects. Sadly the seeds are sold out but can be maybe found at some seed banks, older stock of course.

Cheers

Thanks for the input Koondense.
I'm sure the Bangi Haze could also use a little backcross to the pure Congo.

Maybe the Double Congo is still available over at TSC VIP section.
https://www.tropicalseedscompany.com/shop/vip-store/46-double-congo.html

Price is pretty high though..
Bodhi price :D

prices get better when you join the vip section... a Lot better
but i just checked again, you only get better prices for the ones in the vip section, when i ordered last year you got better prices for all strains when you joined the club
theres a couple of strains i think you cant see without the account

for example a turkish landrace... i thought id mention this because my father told me turkish hash was very trippy "like lsd" and this is the trip weed thread. lebanese was the nicest and turkish the trippiest
but the description states narcotic and sedative so i guess its a different strain
they used to have another turkish strain in the outlet section, maybe from another company and just sold by them? i cant remember

the amount you spend for the club you can use on your first order so its a good thing to do if you plan to spend 50 euros or more

Albanian Indica

Albanian Indica

I can confirm that..south balkan ganja can be strong!!
I smoke a lot of albanian low-mid grade, the effects range from narcotic, euphoric,up,stony pony, dreamy and trippy/psychedelic....but common line is STROONG effect. 5 years ago I smoked a weed sooo trippy that I think...this weed is laced with PCP,so out of controll, manic, dissociative, when I close the eyes I can see my bedroom but like 30 years before with old furniture,I can see out of the home and see old woods behind my house, that was chopped long before, out body experience with mind, a really soft warm white and really hard sharpened black, weird body sensation where I roll in an assembly line, very trippy experience.
n.b I never took Pcp, I do not know how the furniture was 30 years ago,low tolerance can explain some shit...but also now I smoke like one time a week for job paranoia ,but don't blast me off like this and I'm smoking a very good dry sift, stong yes ,psychedelic some but no alien shit here
Yes i can confirm that power of some albanian indicas.....i had an almost out of body experience...
So narcotic,so heavy,so many side effects of dark thoughts....and when you made the mistake and close your eyes....it was scary as you made a speed run in space.....you feel like a zombie!
I don't like this type of indica...this days i'm getting bored of this weed....its not high this thing!it ruins every day...
BUT this is one of the most beautifull albanian weed i have ever smoke....traditional alban, fruity, euphoric, chill out and verry happy high.....some people told me that it reminds them of indica white widow of the old days!:)
but i can't make the comparison!

Oh, memories...
Albanka was the most available when i started smoking, was always in a range of bad import weed coming in truck tanks and was always seeded, highly pressed in bricks.
The effect i remember was ranging from mild to explosive, once i had too much and passed after a very intense mind bending experience.
I always wondered how would it be if it was not pressed but kept in a jar, some of those buds had very potent sativa kind of effect.

Cheers

Yeah for sure some people agreed that albanian ganja can be strong, the cons of this type of weed are the side effects,in few words you become lazy as fuck if you smoke too much too often, but this cons is with almost all weed :) i've found the 90 % are hybrid effects, very strong up and then deep down, another interesting effect is that, this weed stimulates a lot serotonin and dopamine receptor more than other type, and then down more, but the experience worth the apathy then
In my opinion bad transport, storage ect.. can have some impact in the high, and not that bad, maybe more potency but ruined the high, like some sort of heat cure,a little cobbed for the compression, that can explains the strange high ratio of potency,to me

Hi koondense....
Those were some good days of powerfull Alban weed...if we had hold those seeds!!!
But i rarely remember of Albanian sativas....
All were indicas.....the small number of sativas were of poor to medium quality ....nothing special....but some albanian hashplants have that special effect of beautifull charas-hashish type of effect...euphoric and up high and the body floating on air!
This is the second time in my life having this beautifull albanian hashplant in my hands...
Unpressed....i have never smell something like this.
It smells of rose jellys with sugar and rosemary...
When you open the bag it smells like east-arab country shops (with water-pipes nargile-tobacco and incense)..
The taste is hashy-medical-herbal(levander,sage)...
and the high if like the best sativa charras....
Like your body and head and mind floating to the clouds...but its a pure albanian hashplant!
Cheers-Salud-γεια μας!
