Castanada takes me way back. " The little smoke". What was that stuff smokeable mushrooms, in the first book? 3 rings of power, or separate reality, so long ago.

It was mushrooms, but I think other ingredients. I believe Oaxaca is famous for its magic mushrooms.

Sounds great. Glad Dubi and the crew are working on a fem Oaxaca line. Dubi is still deciding what he is going to do with the line but said it will be available in 2017. Sounds far away but it's right around the corner . I can't wait to drop some of them and his new Thais they are working on.

Greetings,

I was looking through my samples this morning and I opened a jar of my early harvested, 8 months, Gypsy Nirvana Thai Stick x Mullumbimby Madness x Neville's Haze. The incense like aroma that I was smelling most strongly at 7 months, still evident in at 8 months, and diminishing quickly at the final "I give up" 9 months, has turned into the smell I remember Thai Sticks having. I killed that plant. I need to smoke some this weekend, but I think I made a HUGE mistake! I'm glad I still have some seeds of that line!

The aroma is now more astringent, medicine like, and metallic. It really morphed. My heart is pounding from the memories of adrenaline rushes and trippy views of the world that the Thai Sticks from the good old days had. When the smell and taste was more pure incense like, I was convinced that this plant was expressing Colombian Gold genetics, tasty, nice high, but not very strong. The cure has made a striking change to the aromas, and I hope it has changed the high as well.

I need to learn how to grow those seeds. I'm thinking that I should cross it with Zamaldelica which was easy to grow, strong, and trippy. Zamaldelica and GNT x MM x NHz is definitely my next grow after the Maui. If I'm lucky enough to get males of either to use with the other, I will make a ton of seeds. LOL!

Hi Thai, I'm still around, I'm just lurking in the back so as to avoid talking too much crap. I still really like that ThaixNH21/MM cross. It was haphazard, but so are all my crosses - I plant twenty seeds that interest me every spring and apply the males to the females - it's no high art. The significant thing was that the Thai mother was a clone gifted to me by Kangativa, someone I regard as a true cannabis master, said the Thai was the best he had if you could finish it properly. Something I wasn't able to do over two unseasonably wet years.

Anyway I grew four of those crosses and two were outstanding smokes, yet all had beautiful structural characteristics. One was my preferred smoke that year, trippy and euphoric, better than the MmxThai78s, but you are right for that fact only came to light after a long cure. I had one (below) which was giant and flowered long and late like yours and was the only golden colored one - the rest being green - it was unfortunately the least potent of the bunch. Perhaps you encountered that pheno as well. I say this in the hope that you get a shorter flowering green one next time!

So last year I was focusing on Kangativa's MM crosses, some pure haze purportedly from Sam's garden and, a reputed Laos from an American expat living in Thailand for twenty years who described it as the strongest smoke he has encountered. There was the usual battle with pestilence, weather and thieves and I ended up with two MMs, two haze and one Laos male. The Laos male was ridiculously late but fertilized a haze and MM from which I have a handful of pale green seeds - what I was able to harvest before thieves came thru. Photo shows L to R haze, Laos and MM...

Initially the haze was a revelation with an incredible sweet bouquet and a thrilling vibey high. Yet after six months the high hasn't changed much but the aroma has become more what people call hazy, sort of woodsy and incensey with a tropical fruit background. But the two MM crosses are now just incredibly sublime, really the nicest pot I can imagine smoking with the loveliest euphoric, spiritual, sit up in lotus type high. MM is on the left of some of my own crosses...

Now this year I'm focusing on a cut from one of Kanga's MM crosses that my friend made, which is a MMxOaxacan cross named James Brown (I feel good!) which is the strongest thing I've smoked for a few years...

I also have some Laos, Malawi and HMBB going, and I'm in the process of acquiring some of Reeferman's Vietnamese Hau Bac which I am told is the strongest sativa he has encountered.
Anyway all the best on your adventure amigo, if u wish I can maybe produce some haze or MM x Laos seeds for u down the track, not sure of their viability indoors though. Peace. Stay calm and happy!

Here's the three stronger green ThaixNh/MMs, which as you can see were fairly uniform and flowered 12-14 weeks, with the weaker larger, longer flowering pheno behind ...

Hi Bushy,

Thanks for posting those jaw dropping pictures and the encouragement. I was really astounded by the change after a cure. I met a guy who likes the same kind of weed I do, and has been working on combining two different strains with Thai in it. He is too young to have smoked Thai Stick, but he likes those strains with Thai in the heritage. I am supposed to meet with him this weekend. I'm bringing my jar of bud so he can get a whiff of the terpene profile that he should be looking for. We will roll one up and give it a try together.

Waldgeist - I like the look of that plant. Looking forward to watching it mature.

Bigherb - I have to cut the buds off the stem of the Punto Rojo that has been hanging. With luck, I'll get the job done this weekend. I will jar it up, along with the Jamaican ganja. I was disappointed with my first sample of Jamaican, but now I know to be very patient with it before I even think of culling the cuttings. It took a long time to find those males with a stable gender. The female I grew did not have one single male flower, which apparently is fairly rare for these seeds. It is especially impressive given the abuse I gave it as everyone can see. I'll take a year to decide on these.

I'll post a picture of a pile of Punto Rojo buds for you before they go in the jar. I have not tried a taste yet.
