sidebar,,, when i was in Spain it got brought to my attention that people in europe do not even know what skunk is.... that's right,, they have no skunks in EU,,, so it is beyond hilarious to me when i see one participating in these discussions.. It would not be outside of reality to even doubt Sam remembers...

I have said this numerous times, it seems so ridiculous. I'd imagine it's because the US is the trend setter in cannabis and our European friends like anything we like, I mean how many clones do you see originating the the UK making it big in the US, but vice versa the brits clamor to get ahold of and work with hot american clones. When you get down to the nitty gritty almost every popular strain of today is based off of American genetics whether is be NL, haze, skunk, OG, sour diesel etc..

There is nothing on earth that stinks like a skunk, it's absurd how something so awful could be so wonderful.

My theory is that mexican weed was sprayed with artificial skunk scent to divert the dogs, this is why the odor profile is so rare to non esistent. My theory holds water because I was seeing mexican mids that stunk like a skunk in the late 90's , if there was a true skunk stinky plant of any value around as recently as the 90's we'd all know about it.

i and a few other folk sent ghani's and etc south of the border in the mid-80's. it got bred,, and shipped back up via arizona mostly but some other ports of entry.. man a few guys got rich on that shit back then remember? coming in at about 200- 600 depending on who you were and then right there competing with 5k a untit,,, yeah man , i remember the mids lol.. sometimes it was the uppers and a chunk of change was there to be had..

Ive said this story already in this thread. But Ill say it again.

I can tell you I was given a girl that was pure skunk. Its had huge fans and stayed semi squat in flower. I had no idea what it was. Until we grew it for the first time. A guy felt sorry for us in our first place and he gave us the cut. I went home one night for work. When I got back the next night the lights came on the AC did not and the whole place was cooked. We were at about week 5 that round and I still trimmed and got rid of what there was the plants were completely brown and toast.

It was major indica and I think a pure Gani nothing like these thin eaves and the double serrations like people describe that never seems to be skunk to me.

But it was absolutely road Kill skunk ass. Several times we had to throw buds out due to the smell factor. Once on a cruise we got so scared how bad it reeked after we cut open the vacuum seal. And when we lost that plant my brother said it was karma we lost it because it was going to absolutely get us in trouble. And thats how we looked at it.

If it wasn't for that cut I would absolutely agree with the spray for scent theory.

I used to think the same thing back in the Mid 90's I thought about trying to figure out a way to spray skunk on some flowers to compare for myself But never did.

Ive tried everything I could to go back over contacting the people from back then. Even drove through the old neighborhood Facebook every path and it sucks.

Did you ever even smoke a Skunk #1 pre 1985 or did you miss the biggest Cannabis history?

My seeds were always guaranteed to germinate 99%, I used to say 100% and just give a few extra so they got over 100%.
No one ever asked me for any replacements in 40 years of seed sales, millions of seeds per year, few can say that.

I smoked Skunk in the 70's dude. Someone smoked to much psychoactive cannabis . I really dislike people that think that created something that was already around before he thought he made it .
