That’s crazy. We don’t take a lot of meds and probably only the cheap ones. One of my scripts is free…
Part of the issue is what the doctors prescribe. I pay $20 per 500 for my Potassium Citrate over the counter and my prescription for the non-generic prescribed by my Urologist was $100 for 30.

Part of the equation is that the single greatest expense for the pharmaceutical companies is advertising. They wine, dine, and gift doctors to get them to prescribe their brand of medicines.

I picked up a bottle of pancreatic enzymes off of Amazon for $35. I will need to toy around with dosage to see if it works and at what dosage. The problem with these enzymes is they are normally secreted into the digestive system after the stomach. The stomach acid can ruin the enzymes so they may not work at all. I am hoping some of it makes it thru to the small intestines. The prescription version supposedly has a coating that survives the stomach acid but then miraculously dissolves once in the small intestines. Not sure how a coating survives stomach acid only to dissolve in the intestines. Maybe it is thick enough to hold up for an average period of time based on studies but everyone’s digestive tract operates at different speeds. Mine is really slow. I have burped up chili(gross and yes, it was still chili) after 6 hours of sitting in my gut.☹️

Morning everybody, surgery went well. Don't know if I get out Monday or Tuesday, either way I'm on iv antibiotics. A little pain but nothing I can't handle. They feeding me Tylenol every so often, did give me a oc yesterday but I don't like them. Hospital coffee is not that good, but wife is supposed to bring some from home. I told her to get some sleep, she wasn't real happy with me for sending her home, wasn't no need in her not getting any sleep cause your not gonna get it here. You folks have a great day.

I’m confused with all the choices too. I’m getting ready to turn 65 and have to make decisions on Medicare and supplement insurance. Mr Sub kept his regular health insurance he had before he retired (BCBS) plus the additional medicare payment. So far everything has been paid in full except some prescription charges which so far have been tolerable but he pays around 400 a month for both and we don’t know how that compares to what others are paying and what they are getting for it. I guess I plan to do the same unless I find out there is a better deal. Don’t like the idea of having medical bills. We are both in good health. I do have some kidney issues and going to the specialist does cost me more than I like out of pocket. I’m hoping that those out of pocket expenses will go away after Medicare kicks in, of course I will have to start paying that too so you still pay….
‘it’s very confusing and all the tv commercials don’t help and only make me more skeptical about making decisions about it all. 🙁
My wife works for united health care anyone have any questions on Medicare and all that shit, she can help.

Morning Folks .
My ex-s/o was a NP who, along with her staff would have the drug companies take out the staff to lets say The Outback". The company would do their presentation over dinner and urged everyone to bring home dinner for those at home. I suffered those benefits, usually to what She didn't eat and a dinner. Desert too😊☝️

So glad everything went well and they are taking care of you. Ask what kind of snacks they have there. Take advantage of the warm blanket service and sponge baths while you are there. Get well soon Giggy 🥰

You torment me.
Its a path I want to follow but if I take it ,I may never come back.
I have a green egg and the pizza kit ( a stone and a peal) .Requires wood charcoal.
A pizza oven in the house may be trouble.
Humbly said I am truly blessed surrounded by many Excellent and different pizzerias.
I see an uncooked pizza as Frodo saw the ring and knew that it must go into the fire.
I worked for pizzerias and know many folks .They would not like me with a oven, they would feel betrayed. .

In the news today - very good news for Germany -

Germany legalises cannabis, allowing possession of up to 25 grams and cultivating up to three plants for personal use -

About time. Been coming for a while.
Our son's happy

Yes having one in the house I can have a fresh pizza anytime In about 20-30 minutes depending what I put on it providing that I have a dough ready which I have usually. It heats up in the time it takes me to stretch out the dough and put some toppings on.

Morning OFC....I have United Health Care! Have had it since I was 65. I check every year and every year I stay the course. Easy to understand and easy to use.

Unfortunately like Subby I am loosing my current Doctor to retirement. That is the second on in 2 years. I liked this one.... hopping the next on is easy to work with.

It was not unfortunate for me. My retiring doc says cannabis is the devil and says you never know what’s in it…I told him I grew my own weed and knew exactly what was in it. I wish I’d have never told him I smoked. Was trying to give him a chance but he put a red mark in my chart and that seems to be the only thing he remembers about me. I saw notes he made in my uploaded file that I was argumentative. 🙁 I’m glad that he’s retiring. I wish him well.
