Big -- I gots a blue ton of saw palmetto on my land. Sometimes folks come around and ask to pick the berries. I always say OK because I see no use for them.

Do you eat them? Cook them? Make jelly? What...
They are worth a lot of money I know that. I picked them once from the property line in Georgia and traded them at the farmers stand for tons of veggies. He paid really good prices for them. I think they are used in medicine for hair growth as I remember. I think they are good for other things too but I remember the hair growth thing. They are gold. Pick them yourself and trade them for weed at you local veggie stand

I get a colon exam every five years and have had benign polyps removed.

Covert blood on a stick will tell you late in the game that you have a serious issue, where finding and removing the polyps before they grow and become malignant will avoid the problem.

this is true Sir and anyone with a history of cancer or compromised health issues should take this under consideration ….

The Cologuard test is designed to detect cancer not prevent it. It can only detect 42% of large polyps, while a colonoscopy can detect 95% of large polyps.

When polyps are detected during a colonoscopy, they are removed at the same time. If polyps are detected with a stool test, a colonoscopy must be performed to remove them.

The majority of large precancerous polyps cannot be detected with Cologuard. This may give patients a false sense that they are preventing colon cancer by taking the test, when in fact they may already have cancer and not know it.

I have that coming up in 25...I only have to do it every 10 years. Hopefully that will be the last time for me....
is
I got it every 10 years until they found polyps and then I switched to every 5 years. At 80, they told me that next time (85) they will review my health and then decide if it is safer to give me another one or just let me die of cancer if I have it.

at our age a colonoscopy every 10 years is key...I go for my annual MRI this month to validate the cancer hasn't come back...other that aches and pains, I feel better now that in a long time...I do believe Ivan has something to do with that...

Miss Layla helps maintain my blood pressure as well, besides being convinced that I'm a superb cook!

All good data.

Meanwhile, I'm freezing. Winter arrived last night.

The sudden temperature drop had a profound effect on my local wildies -- when I went out with my seeds and peanuts for the creatures, they almost couldn't wait.

While I was still placing some on the ground for the peacocks the blackbirds, dove, and blue jays were all over the feeder I had just loaded. The peanuts (in shells) are blue jay faves. They had them all gone before I got the rest of the stuff out there.

And it is fargin cold. :freezing:
