Inert gases are supposed to be a fairly easy, non-panicked way to go, but I'd never heard about nitrogen as a primary gas until I heard this news story on the radio the other day.

The more common gases I was aware of were helium and CO2.

Fools the lungs and brain for most of the duration into believing they're receiving oxygen... until they're not. Possibly a bit of panic at the very end.
Must be 1000 ways to kill someone - many would be quicker than suffocation - that murderer just 86'ed in the USA with nitrogen gas should have been topped on pay-per-view TV - with the proceeds going to the victims families -

Morbid curiosity is profitable -

But could one really achieve self-extermination while talking in a helium voice, like Mickey Mouse?

I think that might derail the whole effort, myself.

I've had other injuries - but often when I was not in the UK - and some of them had to pay hard cash to get seen to - here most everyone who works pay national insurance contributions - as a percentage of income - the more you earn - the more you pay -

- and even though I'm 10 years or so younger than you Ben - still I feel the same way - glad to meet another day - after a wild and crazy life - all over the planet - often pursuing high risk ventures and sports - from gutter to penthouse and back again a coupla times - now just satisfied to be an earthbound family man - 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 - with a coupla teenagers to guide and nurture currently - and a solid hard working wife - that has never sworn - or thrown anything at me - yet

I'm jealous, sounds like a very rich interesting life. Also sounds like the family is the real deal, again I'm jealous. Never had kids, wish I had.

Best....

Well Ben - I was getting into my late 40's around 2006 - and projected my mind into the future - and wanted not to be lonely - in my old age - so I travelled half way around the planet - and found a very fertile girlfriend that became my wife - who produced very strong progeny with much hybrid vigour - bless her ❤️

Would definitely make it more entertaining and humorous - something to cheer people up even - 😆
An honest point on humor; if a person can still find stuff to genuinely laugh at, even if from a cynical point of view, it speaks to some degree of appreciation for life. And if there's even a little bit of honest appreciation toward life, no matter how small, it's a good blasting off point to remain a little while longer and see if the proverbial 'Cosmic joke' has any further punch lines to offer.

Back from the grow store. No disguise necessary. Ha ha! That stung a bit. Haven't been there since Oct so I guess they needed my donation.

I know what can kill ya.....A girl high on pot......here is the scoop if you haven't heard.....

A California woman who fatally stabbed her boyfriend more than 100 times during what prosecutors called a "cannabis-induced" psychosis has been spared prison time, a judge ruled on Tuesday. The decision drew sobs of relief from the woman and a rebuke from the victim's father.

Bryn Spejcher, 32, was sentenced Tuesday to two years of probation, according to Ventura County Superior Court records. Last month, Spejcher was convicted in the 2018 fatal stabbing of Chad O'Melia, a man whom she had been dating for several weeks.

Testimony showed she stabbed O'Melia more than 100 times and also stabbed herself, the Ventura County Star reported.

After the sentence was handed down by Ventura County Superior Court Judge David Worley on Tuesday, Spejcher and her family cried tears of relief, the Ventura County Star reported, while the victim's father said the sentencing set a dangerous precedent.

"He just gave everyone in the state of California who smokes marijuana a license to kill someone," Sean O'Melia said, according to the outlet.

Off-color humor warning.

(*I doubt it had to do with pot as a singular trigger, and maybe more so with a pre-existing propensity or condition, perhaps triggered in part by the pot).

That said, I'm guessing he really wishes he'd shared the last of that bag of Doritos.

Oh - does that mean that we can all get stab-happy now - and not have to go to jail for it?
- now where is that can-opener- - how ridiculous - she must have got her psychosis from somewhere else - the last thing I want to do stoned - is to go around stabbing anyone - another case of making cannabis 'the baddie' -

You would think it would be bad business for a heroin dealer when one of their clients OD from fentanyl, but instead they get 2 new clients because they are all looking for the guy/girl with the good stuff.
A study in New Mexico in the later 1990s correlated wide-sweeping busts of heroin dealers with spiked increases in ODs.

The customers in need of satiating the wanting for another dose would sometimes/often step one notch or so further up the chain, and the heroin from new dealers, especially those further up the chain, was often with less cut.

So, every time the authorities in NM did a sweep of busts on smack dealers (which, at that time, NM had a surprising number of ODs, including in rural areas) ODs would sky-rocket.

I was down there for CEUs for my credentials with the North American Syringe Exchange folks, and it blew me away when those dots were connected. Talk about unintended blow-back!!

NM was also the first State, during Gary Johnson's tenure as Governor, to make Narcan widely available to cops, EMTs, family and friends of addicts, etc. But even with Narcan, the more prudish and judgmental found ways to punish addicts by giving extraordinarily high doses to those who were ODed and sometimes sending them straight into withdrawal on wake-up.
