I've got three Ironwoods in my Fiddleback Forge collection. It's a classic.

You just fitting handles or you working the steel as well?
I did it all from raw stock.
Made a bit of pattern welded billets out of 1084 and 15n20 which was more lucrative than knives for me.
The need to achieve perfection in a knife is obsessive for some people and impossible to achieve.
Alas now days I just drag out the anvil and forge for repairs or to teach the sons something.
Health aint what it was when I was younger.

I dabbled a little with stock removal. I really enjoyed shaping handles and would buy blanks so I could skip a process. All for hobby.

My welding skills are lacking, but put a junk drawer and angle grinder in front of me and I can pretty much fabricate whatever it takes to get the job done until the professionals show up. MacGyver had an influence on me as a kid.

I am the same way. No one ever told me how to remove a spark plug or weld Two pieces of steel together yet that’s what I do…. it’s really sad to ills evaporating in the thin air with the new generation. They might be great with computers, but God forbid they have to walk away from the keyboarding actually get something done. The lack of people in trade schools speaks volumes about this society that we have created… I’ll bet 90% of the folks that are graduating college right now don’t know how to change a P-trap under the sink or how to replace a pressure switch on their well when the water goes out… God forbid they have to replace a circuit breaker… I came up in the wrong time in life

Throw away crap has ruined us.

Funny you mention a pressure switch. I had just replaced my pressure tank and discovered the switch had gone as well. Instead of another trip to the hardware store I took it apart and fixed it. The spring just need a little bending with some fine needle nose and repeating.

Fixing stuff keeps the thinker young and feels good after the trial and error method finally pans out.

There is no fixing my pressure switch when it goes out. We have lizards that climb in there because when it’s cold, it’s warmer and when they get across two of the buses they cook and take the switch out. I don’t use the resettable type because I want a lot of pressure. I use a commercial square D unit That goes off at 90 PSI… when it gets warm, I’m going to install the third fuel pump in my 60 impala with no more than 20 miles driven. I had to go out and buy a fuel pump for 100 bucks rather than spend $30 on the remanufactured garbage they sell at the auto parts places… I’m such a pussy, it’s 50° outside and I’ve been sitting by the fireplace playing with the boys all day

@Putembk been meaning to ask how your new bb gun is shooting?
Just test shot it a couple of times. Need to site it in. No varmints to blast yet. Ha ha. I do feel a lot more comfortable with this that a pellet gun. Don't want to hurt that Bob Cat or a fox. Now a coyote is a different matter. Pellet gun for them. Then there is my neighbor across the street.....Shot gun.....

Pussy :ROFLMAO:
50 degrees and I'm begging for ac. Blame it on Sunday. And on the 7th we shall sit by the fire with good company and a pipe.

I hit the g13-genius a little to hard. I have an hours less of chores left, but I sat down and it's hard getting back up.

I promised Leah a good home cookin too.
