@Boo run into any troubles getting your new plant moved or did it go smooth?

It went a lot easier than I thought… i’ve got to boom up way into the trees to get some heavy wood to put a chain on the hang this bad boy… I bought a couple of pails of 1300 psi chain to hang all of my plants, and fortunately have a lift to get me in the trees to put the chains up on the limbs… this is without a doubt, the biggest staghorn I have in my collection… I found one growing on a sprinkler head in my fern garden. It must’ve come out of the south end of the northbound bird…

You have all the heavy equipment at your disposal, that works. You wouldn't happen to have a skidder? I was a logger and then a tree surgeon early on.

Please share with us when you lift it up and be safe.

You people grow some strange things in Florida. Bugs and gators as well.
That’s why I still live in Florida. I can grow things year-round that most people can’t even consider just for the summer months. I’ve become very accustomed to the incessant heat and humidity but that doesn’t mean I like it. The heat is fine, but the humidity is just unbearable down here, as you can tell, I get a lot of joy out of my garden, my cars, and most importantly, my boys

I would take 90 degrees with 80 something rh any day over snow with below zero windchills. You’re right that humidity is a bitch but that’s what A.C. is for. CL🍀Edit: but wear your sunblock cause that FL. sun will make you look like a prune.

Florida went to shit the day they passed the saltwater license law.
I left that month Fuckinprickfuckcocksuckin assholes can suck my asshole dry.
Just an excuse to come ruin a mans moment of peace and try and write some tickets.
But they redeemed themselves after they banned Comercial fishing 1mile from shore. The effect on Recreational Fishing was amazing. People were catching fish that they never caught before because they were being netted before they could get close enough. Bastards used to catch damn near everything. CL🍀

@Prawn Connery come convince me to buy a led then tell me which fuckin ones I would need please.
One of the few people I would trust for a honest answer on the led subject.

Bet the answers gonna be expensive.
😆
OK. Buy a LED!

I can organise you a deal on a Grow Lights Australia fixture (a couple of the guys on MPG have bought them), but there are cheaper options that will still give you good results. Shipping from Australia to the US is a bit of a killer, but we're working on getting a distributor there.

Cost is valid, but if you get more yield for extra cost, doesn't it pay for itself?

In any case, the first questions are: how big is your grow space? Does the light need to veg and flower? Is it hotter or colder where you grow? Are you concerned about energy consumption?

The main reasons to switch to LED come down to cost savings on bulbs and power; removing excessive heat from the grow area; running out of head height (LED fixtures are usually low profile, can be hung closer, and can keep plants a little more compact than HPS); and increasing quality (this one will be argued about but, trust me, LED-grown is as good or better than HPS grown – and you know I've grown with both for many years.)

If you are in the States, then I'd normally suggest supporting a local vendor instead of a cheaper Chinese manufacturer. You'll thank me when your cheap Chinese fixture breaks and you have to wait weeks or months for a replacement. Buy local, as they usually provide better support. If you have an issue with a grow light in the middle of flower, you just can't afford to wait weeks for a replacement.

Also check the warranty fine print: some manufactures boast of a "five year warranty" but will only replace the fixture in the first 12 months. After that, you have to pay for shipping and parts. Some things are also not covered under warranty, like having a few dead diodes (which will likely lead to more dead diodes as time progresses).

Hey Prawn - Happy New Year - good to see a man with 'a licence to krill' about -
Cheers mate! Can't see the sigs anywhere – unless I'm missing something?

I was told to get with the times and post in the old farts thread. Denial will only get you so far.

Hope you've been well. The place is looking good. Unfortunately I had a lot of posts in the old Chimera forum which disappeared so I have to restart with the post count again.
