Tampa has the most dangerous roads I have had the pleasure of standing blankly in the middle during rush hour.......while taking notes.
😆
I am glad any of us survive that shit.
you don't stand on our roads, we use them as a form a crowd control...get close to the curb and you are considered bait...heading off to the post office once again...the boys love the drive...

Sunday I switched to 12/12. I've got plenty of room to spread the stretch if need be. I decided long ago after trimming my outdoor plants for days on end, to only grow tops indoors. My indoor grows provide a little variety, it's my sun grown that brings the quantity.

Gotta ask. How many of you are using digital controls?
I'm very old school aint changed a thing in 40 some years, no joke.
I still use flouros thru veg, I still use a hps with air flow lense.
The only thing I've changed of late is I don't care to have all these bulk bags of ferts sitting around.
So I've gone to build a soil products.

I used to reamend the medium and just too much to deal with but I might start again since on a much smaller scale now.
That build a bloom mulch of there's, I like it it's got neem ground right into just enough to not be overbearing but enough for gnat control.

Cloning same deal Rockwool cubes, dome, clonex liquid and gel and an old style 18" flouro, thinking of taking that back up again.
Had one of the first mister cloners out back in the late 90's didn't care for it.

So how much advanced technology do you all use?
I started out with a board that had 9 timeclocks and remoted 16 ballasts for three rooms HPS and MH
Now Im ac infinity for my tents and LED lights

I need the heat from MH and HPS. Without them I would have to run the furnace more to keep the temps where I want them. In the summer venting outside keeps the basement cool enough. If it does get a bit to warm I just open a vent and cool things down with the a/c.

Amaze Heaters are a good option if you ever decide to switch things up. They are safe and fairly inexpensive to run.

One of the things I have discovered about getting old is I hate change. I am stubborn and stuck in my ways. ha ha! Everything in the basement is just the way I want it. I did, after years of Big harassing, me go without flushing on this last round. I am even gonna do it on two more plants that are finishing now. Sure is a lot less work. Flushing, although I think it helps the final product, is a royal pain in the ass.

The natives are about to get a taste of a non flushed plant.......If they don't complain I may never flush again.

I do the same and recirculate back into the room from the air cooled hoods.
There's enough of a temp change between upstairs to downstairs.
Plus my furnace goes down to 65 at night which makes the grow room at about 60, too dam cold at that point.

I dont grow during the summer or late spring I shut down for 4 months out of the year. And fish.....
I dodge all the bugs and mold that way.

They are shutting off the electricity this coming Saturday for 8 hrs in my area for some emergency maintenance. My plants are going to get short changed on some of their 12 hrs of light and it's going to get xtra cold in the dungeon. I'm not too worried about the cannaplants, but I'm a little concerned about the house plants. Hoping for an unseasonably warm day🤞

That sucks. With the growing strain on our power grid I am thinking more and more about a generator. I have heard that Honda makes good portable generator. I have my eye on a Honda EU3000. It is just a little over $2,000 and would do in a pinch.

The Generac whole house generator is pricey to say the least. I would love to have it but with instillation and all it is more than I want to spend right now.

If I knew I was gonna stay here I would be more likely to drop the coins. But, frankly this state is becoming less and less attractive for several reasons.

Bingo. I recirculate the heat from the lights back into the tent during the cold months. My tent runs between 75 up to 80 pretty much year round. Night lower 60's but they are fine.

Every year I say I am gonna shut down in the summer. Last summer is the only one that I actually did slow down. I gave all my mothers to BigSur and learned a hard lesson......it takes a long time to get things going again from scratch.

This summer, if I do slow down I will keep the veg tent going so when I do fire things back up it won't be from scratch.

I got a quote for the Generac generator myself. At the same time we were considering refinancing. I ended up throwing my savings into the mortgage and not the generator.

I've been looking at those Hondas for some time, but unfortunately have procrastinated. I'll probably be one of the unprepared who ends up paying twice as much do to an emergency situation.

I have procrastinated as well. One of these days I will be sorry. Our power grid is strained to the max and with all this electric car stuff going on and a real hot summer.....boom.

Plus I worry about a terrorist attack. The whole system could go down. But I worry to much I guess.

I’d like to think I am as prepared as I am going to get. I did my own generator install 15 years ago and I’m using a 20 horse Honda V twin motor pushing a 13 KW powerhead. I put two 500 gallons of LP underground so I should be in pretty good shape. Having my own well, keep as much water as I care for and what my livestock doesn’t produce my neighbors livestock will…
