So the smoke from the fires is good for all the outdoor marijuana plants? Won't the smoke penetrate and effect flavor and be harmful to the leaves? with the smoke so thick and heavy and choking right now I imagine a horror waking up tomorrow and all the pretty flowers shriveled up , wilted and dead. I do hope that everyone stays safe and all marijuana plants are going to be safe through this very trying time.

Smoke is not good for the ganja. It's hot enough, but its not bright enough with all the particulate matter in the air. I'm getting weird stretching and not bulking up. Since July I've had smoke in the air, and the back half of my harvest is suffering.

Peace

Thanks DAT (Digital Analog Transfer, I used to cart one around and record shows. Several times I was accosted by staff, never gave it up!)

This year is one of those, plan for the best, made do with what you get. Thank the lords I run Light Dep greenhouses, cause the full season doesn't look like its going to finish anytime soon, with any sort of top grade.

Who knows.

Peace

Smoke adds some CO2 to the atmosphere which should have some benefit, but its probably outweighed by the amount of light that the particulates block.

The smell of the smoke is so much worse at night. Why is this? I purchased a Honeywell air purifier that has 100 CADR for smoke , 106 for dust and 100. For pollen for a 155 square foot room, which is the size of my bedroom. It isn't killing the smell at night it is horrible. Cant really sleep well . Dropped 139$ for this air purifier and it doesn't seem to be making a dent. So bummed. Its sopposed to rain Wednesday. I can't wait!!

It's bad up here in central. Like can't see across the property. But luckily I got a big climate controlled shop for me and my girls.

Sucks about low light levels for you outdoor gents. I used to get lots of clouds on Big Island. Sometimes for weeks. Yeah low light makes flowers airy. Sometimes it wasn't evident until harvests weigh ins.

Coldest winter in years.
Hottest summer in years.
Worst smoke in years.

Trying to figure out why I moved here from Hawaii in Nov!! haha!

You were very smart, Mushroom Brew, to build a climate control grow op. Weather on the west coast is extreme.
You moved here from Hawaii because the cost of living is cheaper. Plus , unless your into surfing , there is nothing to do in Hawaii. After the smoke clears out, you got to go the HellsGate Rouge River Jet boat ride in Grants Pass! oMG it is so much fun!! And there are so many other beautiful places to go mushroombrew! I know it hard and depressing right now but things will get better after the smoke clears out. Please remember not to do any heavy activities right now because it's so unhealthy it's best not to exert yourself. You can check out AirNow webpage and type in your town to see your air quality today.we got raised to Very unhealthy. Some parts of the state are almost Hazzardous. I wish you much success here in Oregon.

Yup you guessed it. It's prohibitively expensive in HI. Power is 55c/kwh! My friend owns the only medical grow on Kauai. And they are rquired to do all indoor yikes!!

Thank you for your kind words. So far I love it here. Happy people.
It's a better life for me here. Thanks for the air now site!

Pot growers in states where marijuana has been legalized for adult consumption are grappling with the problems of supply and demand that have challenged other commodities. Wholesale U.S. marijuana prices dropped to $1,614 a pound in July, from a high of $2,133 a pound in September 2015, according to New Leaf Data Services, and while that has been great for pot consumers, growers are less enthusiastic.

I have no idea how indoor growers even get a whiff of a profit in the Rec world.

Best of Luck to all my Oregon peeps, I wish we could all get together some day.

Yeah the smaller growers will unfortunately fade away unless they gat creative and find a unique opportunity and be able to aggressively market quality and product. One such art form that has been dismissed by many pot shops is Hashish. An ancient art form forgotten bythe likes of technology. Maybe one day it will come back like viynal records did.
The westward winds are due in tonight! With cold air and moisture. What a welcome relief!

SW of the fires

Bulking just fine here in "organic" no till raised beds.
Y'all this is perfect, this is by no means toxic to plants, hardly. The Co2 is a great additive and the diffusion of the sun is helping plants by not having to fend off UVB from the sun....I still say even with the overcast and I am close too, the PPFD is still pushing 1500 umol/s/m^2....try running that inside with CO2.....it would bring smiles....

The ash is the problem, some places were reporting 1 inch!!!! but again free ferts....and hardly in an amount that would suffocate many plants let alone a weed like ganja....

Stay safe and inside if you can. I am wondering if this gets to P town on the edges, already jumped the Columbia! into Skamania and burning some where around Beacon and the great dispensary store in East Bonneville too :).

People stay off SR14 to watch our side burn.....please!

Is that $480 a one time fee? or is it yearly? Is that on top of the $200 per/patient I pay for?

I went to the site read everything they have. It looks like just another money grab for the OMMP growers to stay in the program. When you live in a county that voted against Rec it's not like we have much of a choice to go to Rec/OLCC.

Am I reading this wrong?

Peace

Yes, the $480 is on top of all other costs to grow OMMP weed. The $480 is the cost of the CTS (Cannabis Tracking System) for inventory and tagging. The inventory ID tags themselves are another .25 to .45 cents each, depending on how many you buy at a time from Franwell. You also have to attend a mandatory training session on the CTS system before they will allow you to use it. Rec costs for the Franwell CTS system are included in the annual OLCC license fees. However, OMMP CTS users will have to pay the separate CTS fees to use the system. I cannot find anywhere if the OMMP CTS fees are one time or annual. The devil is in the details, which will not be available from the state until 2018.

Yep, some asshole 15 year old kids from Vancouver, WA started the gorge fire by lighting and tossing fireworks into a canyon. Smart ass motherfuckers were giggling like it was a big joke. Then they tried to flee the scene, but the state police stopped them in the parking lot. Now they and their irresponsible "parents" are going to be on the hook for MILLIONS in fire suppression costs and damages. Especially now that it has crossed into Washington state. No place for those little fuckers to hide now. IMO, they ought to be thrown into the fire.

The fire spread fast yesterday and today, and is approaching east Corbett. Corbett is now on evac notice. They fear that the fire will head south and into the Mt Hood National Forest and into the Bull Run watershed. They banned logging in the Bull Run area and as a result, that is all primed now to go up in a flash. The Bonneville Dam and power system is also in jeopardy, as is the power grid leading into and out of the gorge. I-84 has been closed for 2 days now from T-dale to Hood River. Also all train traffic is stopped on both sides of the gorge, and no trucks are allowed on WA Hwy 14. Auto traffic heading west on I-84 is being diverted to Hwy 14 at Hood River. Traffic heading east is being diverted to Hwy 26 through Sandy, and then around Mt Hood and down Hwy 35 to Hood River. Truck traffic heading west is being diverted to 35/26 through Sandy.

Smoke is thick as fog here. Ash is piling up. I am watering my property like mad. My now blooming weed seems unaffected by the heat and smoke in the greenhouses. The wind is supposed to shift to the west overnight and we hope that the fire will be blown back and stall out and stop advancing west. The humidity will also increase with the westerly winds, and temps will cool off. It may even rain some here on Wednesday/Thursday. But the gorge is scorched badly. Really bad. Its going to be a eye sore for years to come. Like the Tillimook fire areas were on Hwy 26 and 6 when I was a kid.

Hashish has been replaced with dabbs (shatter, wax, etc.) and oil. These kiddies these days do not know what real hashish is.

We can only pray for westerly winds and cooler weather. And an improved education system in southern Washington State.

I was a teenager in the UK around 1990. Bud was non existent. We were all hash connoisseurs. There were 9 distinct types!

But I wanted to try bud. I remember an Aussie friend describing bud to me. It sounded so wierd. I was a kid and had no idea where hash came from...I just smoked it haha!

I started indoor growing way before Amsterdam was a "thing"

Funny how quickly times change. I bet in 20 years people will be getting cannabinoids into them in all kinds of ways!
