Robrites, Beautiful spot you got! Antelope, Elk, Mule Deer, Big Horn Sheep and noisy snakes. I'm certain you have gold too, a goodly bit of it at that. You're area is famous for "fine or tiny gold" everywhere. Nice lumps come out of the Burnt and John Day. Further South it is loaded with fines evenly distributed in the soils, concentrated in river valleys. Worse case comes you could set up a spiral wheel and shovel in material and concentrate out your gold. Good trading stock down grid. "Lost Blue Bucket Mine" is out your way too. You should look that up.

Mines are pretty wet. Mines do make their own water though and it's usually quite good. Forest Service/ BLM has been gating them off for the last few yrs. Seems the powers that be want us all to stay topside when they go underground. Generator would show up on their infrared flights for fire watch.

fwiw, if anyone thinks they can just bug out after some event and hide in the woods you're trippin. They came through and gps all the camp sites, wide spots on the road, anywhere one might try to set up camp. You'd have to get way off road and set up a new camp and make Dakota type fire hole. I know that's some tin foil hat stuff, but it is what it is. Once shtf they don't want us up there.

Oregon officials propose policy tweak to nudge marijuana stores into new regulated market

State officials are considering a proposal that would allow marijuana stores to sell existing inventory even after they are licensed by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.

Under current rules, stores licensed by the liquor commission may only sell products from state-licensed producers and processors. Those goods are subject to strict new testing standards and are tracked under the state's seed-to-sale system.

The proposed temporary rule would allow retailers to sell what's already on their shelves, even if it fails to meet new testing standards. The products will be entered into the state's tracking system.

Officials said they hope such a policy shift would motivate retailers to enter Oregon's newly regulated market for recreational marijuana, which is expected to roll out starting Oct. 1.

Since last fall, the state has allowed Oregon's medical marijuana dispensaries to sell cannabis to anyone 21 and older under a so-called early start policy administered by the Oregon Health Authority. By year's end, all recreational sales must shift to the liquor commission.

Many retailers who plan to sell to recreational consumers aren't in a rush to make the switch because they want to sell existing marijuana flower, cookies, other treats and concentrates and extracts.

It's unclear how much of those products are in the system. The health authority in June began tracking marijuana moving through dispensaries, but officials said on Friday said they are still analyzing that data.

"We have heard for some time about the disincentives to come into the system," said Steve Marks, executive director of the liquor commission, the agency charged with overseeing Oregon's regulated recreational market.

Regulators worry the potential lack of licensed recreational retailers will have significant implications for the rest of the industry. Without enough stores, for instance, newly licensed marijuana growers and processors won't have a market for their products, Marks said.

"We brought them into the system," he said. "They deserve to find a place where they can get their return."

Allowing stores to sell existing inventory also could address a potential supply problem caused by the lack of accredited labs, Marks said.

That's wonderful news Robrites! I've been wondering about it. There was talk of a grace period to sell remaining product but this is better. We have tons of 100+ mg edibles on the med side that, after October 1, don't meet the new rules. Plus lots of rec side products. I'm still confounded by the new medical limits

Aota,
Medical limits?

Yep. In addition to rec edible dosage limits going up to 50 milligrams on October 1, ommp goes down to 100 the same day insanity. It only forces cardholders that actually need those strong edibles to buy more it's crazy

Yep, more laws for "legal weed".
I'm glad I don't have to get bent over by shops now a days.
It's insane how anyone with good product now charges wacko prices.
People are paying 65$ a gram for dirty arm farm oil around here now.
Just nuts how people think everything will get cheaper with legalization.
4 years ago, no way you could have tried charging numbers like that unless you had the clear.
Now can't go get fire bud anywhere in the city unless you're willing to drop 240$ a zip.
It's just sad. I'm more than disappointed

Seriously. I went to the only spot in Eugene that carries dirty arm farm and intended to get some live resin. No chance at that price. I grabbed some echo electuary super lemon og for much less. Our biggest seller flower wise is resin ranchers animal Cookies. We got their 'dry sift' rosin in and have to charge $60 a g. I got one tax free with a 15% employee discount and it still wasn't worth it. I'm also shocked at the sheer volume of lower grade herb that passes up here. It truly blows my mind. Lots of "what's your cheapest gram?" And lots of middies smokers in Oregon. No offense, I know that's not you guys. 😃

Only noobs, tourists and people with no connects bother with the dispensary scene in Oregon.

There's a whole lot of noobs and unconnected people. Sales don't lie. Also, there's a tremendous amount of folks in the older generations that have just come back to herb after decades of fear. The majority of people who use herb in Oregon are not like those of us here I believe. They are regular folks that work regular jobs and have never grown.

Yeah... But there was a time you could go get straight fire for 125$ a zip in shops...
I don't care who you know around oregon, hook ups or not, dispensaries used to be a feasible option for medical before it went legal.
Even growers were coming to grab a half p to hold them over between crops.
Now, they are exactly what you say, a tourist trap.
