I knew things were screwed as soon as the OLCC got involved.

Then when residency requirements were lifted for rec and adopted for medical it was the most obvious act of greed.

IE if you work in a lumber mill in Idaho and want to move your family to Oregon so you can grow medical cannabis for your epileptic child, and keep a decent paying job at a mill...you can't because you don't have enough years of residence. Even if you can grow four plants it doesn't protect you legally for growing medicine for your child..

However if your a rich person from out of state you can come in and participate in a new law you didn't even vote for...

length-of-time residency requirements for patients?

wtf? when did that happen? that's outrageous

So does this mean that when I drive from the Valley to Bend to stock a patient, that I could get Fed time for crossing a Res with a couple ounces?

State slaps Portland dispensary owner with $40,000 fine in fraud inquiry

State slaps Portland dispensary owner with $40,000 fine in fraud inquiry

The woman at the center of Oregon's first fraud investigation into a regulated marijuana business clearly knew about a fabricated letter that made bogus claims about her enterprise in an effort to lure investors, the state inquiry concluded.

The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services this week ordered Tisha Siler, CEO of a Northeast Portland pot dispensary called Cannacea, to pay $40,000 in fines for multiple violations of state securities law, including selling securities without a license.

The case against Siler is a "classic example of investment fraud in which an individual uses a new and potentially profitable industry as an enticement" to back an illegitimate company, agency spokesman Jake Sunderland said Friday.

He cautioned people to do their homework. "Check before you invest," he said.

Siler has 20 days to appeal the order to an administrative law judge. She said via email that she plans to file a challenge. She denied preparing the fraudulent letter on Oregon Health Authority letterhead and said she didn't "ask or direct anyone to do so. Period."

Sunderland said an extensive Oregonian/OregonLive article about the state's investigation helped bring the case to a close. The agency started looking into Siler and Cannacea last year.

"Leads generated by ... (the) story helped us direct our investigation to a place where we were able to confirm that Siler created the documents," he said.

Katy Young, an attorney for Green Rush Consulting, a California company that did work for Cannacea, said that after story published, her firm hired a company with forensic computer expertise to determine where the fake letter originated.

She said the expert determined that it came from an account associated with Cannacea and Siler. She said another email that included Siler's feedback on investor material also came from a Cannacea account. Young said she forwarded the computer expert's findings to Dorothy Bean, an attorney with the Department of Consumer and Business Services.

It was that analysis that led the state to link the letter to Siler, Sunderland said.

Siler told officials that Green Rush or one of the company's associates created the letter "without her knowledge or permission." (The company isn't affiliated with the Portland-based Green Rush Advisory Group.)

"To the contrary, the ... letter was created by Siler" or by someone else "at her direction," said the state's 11-page order, signed by Patrick Allen, director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services.

The state concluded that it was Siler who provided Green Rush with the bogus letter and that she had personally given the letter to one or more prospective investors.

In late 2014 and early 2015, four people invested a total of $225,000 in Cannacea, the state found. Siler earlier this year informed the state that Cannacea had temporarily closed; on Friday, state officials said the dispensary's status hadn't changed.

Siler also told state investigators that she didn't review materials created for potential investors. The materials contained numerous false claims about Siler's business. But the state investigation found she had, in fact, reviewed and made revisions at least once.

Among the fraudulent claims: that Oregon regulators personally invited Siler to open medical marijuana dispensaries; that regulators would pre-approve up to six dispensary licenses with limited red tape; and that Siler would be consulted by state regulators crafting rules for recreational marijuana.

Had a surprise random full inspection by the OHA earlier this week. My first as manager and the shop's first since we opened. It went well! I was a little surprised since we're at the end of our run with them. Full rec and OLCC supervision is coming soon. The inspector was there for hours and super meticulous. He was generally cool and easy going relatively. I got to hear some funny stories of other not so successful inspections. Like when a hot torch was quickly stashed under a couch and started melting it.

Rec edible limit goes up to 50 milligrams on October 1 and I think flower limit goes to an ounce. We can now sell rosin, hash, and kief to everyone. Restricting them at all was silly. We're going to have some resin ranchers animal Cookies dry sift (lol it's kief) rosin in the shop real soon.

I sent my door man up there. Any specific highlights I should tell him to grab?

I was going off of what there website listed in what breeders had stands there, when I showed up I realized all of the breeders they listed went to one seed bank tent.
I was under the impression they would all have individual stands. Kinda disappointing but no big deal.
Way too late now but if you send someone back tomorrow I would say the highlights are all the dj short old world genetics gear at that seedbank.

ROGUE RIVER — Rogue River police say a man walking through a park discovered a portable toilet filled with marijuana plants.

The agency posted a photo on social media Wednesday, saying it's the largest seizure of pot the department has ever made.

Marijuana grows are common in southern Oregon, which has some of the nation's best conditions for outdoor cultivation.

Chief Ken Lewis on Thursday said police still don't know how the pot got there. He said it could be anything from a pick-up point to a disgruntled resident making a statement about all the marijuana grows.

Lewis said a public works employee checked the toilet three hours before the discovery was made and it was empty. People playing tennis on a nearby court saw nothing suspicious.

Guessing angry Landlord. Actually betting those are late showing males.

Sorry had to laugh at the article. The Chief of Police said "potential pick up point." lol. Ya that's some high dollar shit there. lol.

Also says it's the largest seizure of pot the dept has ever made? wtf? Should move there and plant acres of it. Sounds like they never get out of their cruisers. ffs. Mayberry or Rogue River?

Cut down 6 males in the last couple days. Two of them were monsters over 8'. I hope my neighbors up wind are doing the same. I think that it's important not to just cut them and throw them on a pile somewhere. I cut them and pile them up, cover with an old blanket and spray them with water a few times a day. The water will ruin any pollen. Takes a few days and they are total mush. I have yet to see an open pollen sac while doing this. (I did take cuttings from them first. Bodhi Seeds all)

I guess my point is please double check your stuff. I got duped by 6 possibly 8 this year. Waiting on two to throw yet. I've been to other's gardens and they have shown me their prized well grown plants. Both growers bummed when I pointed out they were males. Experienced growers at that. My excuse is I never really grew from seed before. I imagine there is a lot of that going 'round. Hopefully not upwind from any of you.

I sacked my biggest, most vigorous and healthy plant 5 days ago for this reason. Super bummed as one of two I have going of this (trainwreck x hashplant) X (royal Kush x OG kush) I brought seeds of up from Humboldt last year. Luckily I have a smaller one that's super flowering now but it was a real bummer. My Cherry Skunk is in full flower and Blueberry Headband is headed that way. I replaced the male with an xj 13. All seedlings

Inspector Etiquette

Inspector Etiquette

Look Clean and Straight and Proper

You ain't no Hillbilly

And you ain't no Hippie
No More, Brother

You are a businessman now.
Look and Act like it.

Quote from one of "Oregon Weed's"
Many deep cover agents...

"I had the Inspector at my house today inspecting my new shop. He's way cool and has a big hand in determining what growing laws even hold court in our county. He is pro-farming. This is what he said verbatim. "If more people would make their grows look clean with professional built wood fence (like yours) and look like an actual business, there would be so many less problems. Its these shitty tarp fences and the general lack of cleanliness that people are having with growers as their neighbors. We get reports about 10 foot tall tarp fences that look like garbage more than anything else combined."
