Yeah Dan, I meant he 3 x 3 flood trays. Do they make a 4 x 4 flood tray? I'd like to get a 4 x 4 flood tray to go in my 4 x 4 tent to catch all my sloppiness.

I am defs interested to see how that net of yours fills! With the hydro halo's on a timer, how much do you get off those 4 plants
?

Thanks

i average 6 to 8 oz's or more per pot ,strain dependant .

Could someone enlighten me how you go about re-potting and up-potting in hydro, with a mix of, say, 3:1 perlite/vermiculite?

Do you start your seedlings/clones in small containers like if you were growing in soil, and then up-pot? Or do you put seeds after germination (in rockwool) right into the final containers?

(Thinking about it, maybe it's even *easier* to repot in hydro since the roots won't stick? So basically just remove plant from smaller container and put into bigger one?)

Start in smaller containers and then up-pot. Choose a non-watering day, so the roots will be dry.

The whole rootball should slide out with just a little help.

You can trim the roots before putting them in a bigger pot, but that's a different discussion, and there are plenty of threads on that topic.

Hope this helps.:tiphat:

thats the beauty of a hempy bucket ..... no transplants needed !!! you stick your clone into the final bucket , feed very lightly for a week or so untill the roots hit the rez . & then fill the bucket to runoff & let them veg . when the roots hit the rez ..... you'll know cuz of the sudden explosive growth !!! BTDT many many times !

this is coco hempy , but growth reacts the same as verm/perilite mix .

Dansbuds, what size are those white buckets? I have a bunch of 2gal but black that look just like them. That looks like my future setup! 6 DTW Coco 2gal, 2x4 tent, 400w.

So in the beginning, when a seedling or clone hasn't reached down to the rez yet I just keep wetting the substrate - only when the roots have reached I water *good* so there is 30% or so overflow to fill the bottom? (Sorry for many noob questions). Makes sense.

Will I be fine with watering once a day once transplanted/sprouted? Or twice a day? I am a little afraid I will let them dry out, coming from soil....

Putting seedlings in two or three gallon buckets. Those seedlings will grow to two feet in yogurt cups.

once a day or every other day ,depending on the medium & how fast it dries out . & yes , you'll see the growth spurt when the roots hit the rez & thats when you feed the rez to runoff .

whether you start them in cups or in the final pots .... they will still take a week for the roots to reach the rez & start to grow . so why waste the time & stress to the plant with transplanting when you don't need to ???

As I said, so I don't waste so much nutes.

how do you figure your wasting nutes unless you not feeding the cups ! you still have to feed them no matter what pot its in ! your not using anymore nutrients untill its time to fill the rez . & thats only 1 time , then you only feed to refill .

:dunno:

put them into your finale container when roots are full in smaller pot and when repotted the roots will already be at res level. no fukin around.
