Thanks for the tip on free buckets. I wouldn't sweat it too much on nutes. Are you using coco or vermiculite with the perlite? What is your medium exactly? If you're in coco then be on lookout for coco issues that occasionally pop up. Other than that just look at the plants and follow the directions on the bottle somewhat.

3:1 Perl:Verm.. Around 8 ph tap.. and TDS reads around 350 ppm.. Not very bueno but I'm gunna work with it for now. Blowing through this pH down esp. with the protekt.
Your right though man. Unnecessary perspiration. They're cool so far.. until I see trouble I'll stick to my guns.

2ml/gal ea. protekt and fp this evening.

Going to have to figure out how much she needs for proper run off.. I probably sucked up about 50% today :yikes:

8 + 1 mutant (back left) Sour Bubbles in their homes.. Well recovered from a little early stress.. 8 Lifesavers will be in their final homes tomorrow.

Looking nice, sure you could just use protekt just once a week or so and be fine... :)

Hello all,

I was considering using Hempy buckets in the future as I may be forced to grow indoors due to City code enforcement. I truly do not wish to have to grow indoors but things being what they are. It is much easier for me to grow outdoors and get a great product in an organic raised bed garden ...practically set it and forget it...sitting on the patio drinking a beer listening to the tunes watching the buds grow. And for next to nothing.

So I have been considering options and was wondering how long does a mixed batch of nutrients stay at the initial pH and EC if kept covered, cool and insulated?

Was thinking about Hempy buckets to start.

Thanks for your replies.

We've answered this question numerous times. There's no reason to run any of that stuff. If you choose to spend money just to spend money then by all means, however I'm getting 5 foot trees out of 5 gallon buckets with simple GH 3 part nutrients. Don't make it any more difficult than it has to be...

DoomsDay is correct. Some of these companies want you to think that growing weed is rocket science. It isn't.

I'm sure I'm also somewhat of a shmuck for even using some off the shelf liquid line. I could probably save heaps if I decided to mix pure chemicals myself then dilute with water, however at a certain point time becomes valuable. Overall, don't over think it, and most definitely do not run something meant to treat pond water issues in your buckets. Little bit of alge will.disappear once the plants take strong hold and begin drinking down the water. But the alge is also telling you to back off on the watering.

I have yet to read a post that states how much pond zyme per gallon. I have read the whole thread and even searched using keywords. I really would appreciate the dosage per gallon that everyone is using that seems to have success with it. Thanks buddy and happy growing

^^^Nail on the head.... loud and clearly.... DON'T PUT THAT SHIT IN YOUR PLANTS.

Plenty people do use it on their plants. It's all over there forum and other forums as well as far a people using pond zyme to replace hygrozyme. I'm thinking maybe we had a miscommunication or we are not on the same page here?

Not to be disrespectful, if so many people use it, why can't you find info on it? Must be top secret shit! :tiphat:

Im guessing here. But He must have had root rot problems in the past. And thinks he needs to use something as a preventative being a hydro set up. Why not use Dutch Master Zone it is designed for this reason. Or beneficial bacteria. Look up using Beneficial bacteria in DWC to prevent brown slim by Heizenburg.

But truth is if your shit is clean you would not have said issues. And that is what these guy are saying. They dont have any problems because they put in the work and time to keep clean.

All pond enzyme is a replacement for yes any over the counter over priced enzyme product like Hydrozyme supposed to be cheeper and more concentrated. But ALL enzyme's are going to slim up any rez. Especialy if you use carbs. I DO NOT suggest using it. But that is up to you. You can learn the hard way like the rest of us. Read any thread about root rot DWC out there and you will get your answers. In stead of arguing here. People here do KISS and keep clean.

No disrespect. Hope this helps.

Making sure there is plenty of run-off when watering seems to ensure a clean and healthy root system. I usually water enough to make sure the reservoir capacity has been completely flushed with fresh nutes. Never had any root problems.

i have started running hempys here on a large scale, i have all 5 gallon buckets hooked together by 1/2 hydro tubing for drainage, each bucket gets a gallon a day of whatever feed, to battle any possible funk issues and to aid the plant i use EM-1 on plain water days.
im pretty sure im the only one with chem coco hempy buckets sprouting mushrooms.

Not using coco but I put cleaned gravel in the bottom of some of my buckets this time around. It's working great and will also help with any top-heavy issues once the plants get large.

Yep...I like the added weight in the bottom...these are getting top heavy. Only been in flower for about 7 days. LOL
