I thanked Hempy for his seeds .
I gave some to a friend as a gift . No trades were involved . None of the 100 or more seeds I received germed.Including the 10 I sent to a friend to see if there was an error in my germination technique .

No shame involved . Since that incident I have made my own seed . So I don`t have to beg .
Those seeds are now in the 4 corners of the globe being enjoyed by members of the community .
My conscience is clear .

Elmer pm me begin for seed and he told me he had lost orders as they entered threw custems so i thort i would help elmer the lier out after he hassled me i felt sorry for him and sed i had f2s i could send him that were old but i still get 70% to 60% germination.

So i sent him a lot and told him theres inuf there to germ and get good numbers up from to select and find good plants in as friends have.

I had an acedent and other things to deal with elmer the bull shitter then pm me a abusive nasty pm for not sending them yet so i explained and still sent them when i should of sed fuck off elmer.

Then elmer the bull shitter PM me and tells me GET THIS SHIT he send seeds to people to trade for other lines and they are not getting any to germinate priceless.

I told him why did he trade seed when he was told he needed the numbers to get good numbers up to select from so he lied to me and i have every reason to not like the guy. - hempie

...i couldn't agree more, this passive hydroponic technique goes back to the time of the Romans and probably before that, ...like you say, 'hempy' is just a convenient name that happens to fit, it is 'hemp' we grow after all, lol. ...frankly, this is the reason i continue to use the term and not because of any 'homage' to the 'man'.

it's the TECHNIQUE that is important, not the name or the container size and the technique has evolved and been honed by MANY over the years so it AND the name belong to the community and not ANY one man.

Hempys are pretty much only known in the cannabis circles ..... the rest of the world calls them by many names , but it all leads back to it just being a sub irrigated planter .
we call them hempys cuz for some reason when dialahempy called them his hempy buckets we just tagged along like all good robots should .

I dont use hempy buckets...

But its always been my impression that they are virtually the same as a bato bucket....

A bato bucket system generally uses perlite, drip feeding and nutrient recycling....


The bato bucket system generally uses no vermiculite ....since you can drip feed on any schedule.....


To me a hempy is little more than a manual bato bucket.....



I hope none of the hempy loyalists are offended but its really hard to invent anything thats really new.....



The system I use now....is fairly close to a bato bucket..... but instead of perlite I use turface.....


which makes reuse of nutrients much easier.....


Irrigate once an hour during light.....


Bet you cant do that with a hempy.....

...yeah, i don't know anything about the system you describe but the 'hempy' technique is simple and passive, that's it's most attractive feature, it's elegant simplicity.

...anyway, like i said above, i'm growing a form of hemp in mine so i'll continue to call mine 'hempy' buckets, if i were growing beans in them i'd be calling them 'beany buckets' i suppose, lol

...dalaihempy may have thought he was naming them after himself to feed his ego but what he inadvertently did was name them appropriately after the plant we all love to grow so to my way of thinking, 'hempy' just fits.

...he's long gone from these parts anyway and the troll who used to make an issue of it has been banned so maybe now we can just get on with the discussion of growing the ganja and helping new people learn how.

Hempy is NOT a "nobody". Regardless of the history of this type of growing, Hempy was the first person to use and share it with the cannabis community, and for that, I give him respect. He, and nobody else, made this type of growing popular, and I thank him for it's simplicity and effectiveness.

i must agree with hush here and to give a good example i will share my newest contraption:



these are two 10 litre containers, perlite or lava rocks in the bottom, topped up with coco.

i use automatic feeding system that i mentioned in my previous posts:

this time i will flower my bonsai mothers here. they look rough due to long time with scarce lighting and feeding. but they will soon take off

i really hope to see more setups in this thread, rather than vicious circle of debate about the name and/or creator of this bucket... for like 10th time...

.these are the last seedlings from my last 60 bean seed drop . got clones of them all going so i'll have the strain if i find keepers . the Biesel has been with me for a long time but i dropped a few seeds of it to pheno hunt with , cuz i know theres better pheno's of the cut i had been using . the guy i got the seeds from had a much frostier pheno than the one i've been running . so .... a hunting we will go !!! lol

These are 2 mango haze from seed, about 3 weeks old in coco hempys, very light feeders! Trying this light fixture for the 1st time. Its hortilux daylight 315w CMH.
