I have searched high and low for a C-25 cabinet. I finally found one about a week ago. I have some questions and want to gather information before proceeding.

My last micro closet grow was very stinky & I had some fan noise. I want this to be much more stealthy with the C-25 cabinet I finally scored.

Here we go:

I would like to have two chambers going (one veg, one bloom) one on top of the other. Does anyone have some good links or info / tips with this type of set up?

Likewise, please post links to some DIY carbon scrubbers or recommend some commercial scrubbers that fit well in the space of a c-25 cabinet.

Also what quiet inline fan would be best for moving air in the c-25? What CFM rating should I get?

I plan to run a 150 watt HPS that has the ballast attached to the light and four 100 watt CFLs for the bloom chamber. I will use LST / SOG method to maximize yield. I will probably get a louver to attach to the light some ducting and a fan to pull heat away.

For the vegetation chamber I will use fluorescent lights. Either a few 15 inch tubes or 2 100 watt CFLs.

Likewise I did some quick searching for those dark room vents at some sites (great idea by the way). Could not find them. Please post some sites where I can get these.

I apologize if my request seems lazy but I have limited access and time to search the internet (I have to borrow a friend's computer).

10 JLP Ultimate Moonshine seeds are just waiting to be used in my freezer. I will probably give this grow cab a test run with some other kind bud seeds I have before getting the UM going.

I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP

Where did you find your cabinet at?

And btw, there are tons of DIY carbon scrubber posts, just search.

I would not combine veg and flower into one box. You can always stop light leaks when you see them. Unless you are very small you will never know if you have light leaks between chambers. I have seen many designs of dual boxes but they never seem to stay in operation. All you can do with a combined box is knock a month off a grow. The hassle and uncertainty, space limitations are not worth the hassle if you ask me. If you must knock a month off between harvests I suggest you build a separate veg box.

Many thanks!

The Darkroom Louvers will save me time and space! Instead of snaking pvc pipe around on the bottom of the cabinet and painting them black all I have to do is install the louvers.

I can get stuck for hours on this sight reading all the cool threads & taking in all the info!

I visited many Home Depots in my area for months. Most of the usable Mills Pride inventory is scant. One HD had a c-25 that was already built as a floor model. I was actually going to buy this one, but hot damn, when I came back to the store to purchase it there were 3 boxes below the floor model. I could not believe my eyes.

Thanks I will do a search for the DIY Scrubbers...

Alright man I'm gonna search the hell out of my 2 home depots. The only thing that was keeping me away was that someone said they don't carry them anymore.

-Oh and, how much did you pay for yours?

i read your post on maliboos how to do a c13.is ther any thing new.the links in that post do work got some new ones? and if you have some step by step pix that would be kool. im new to this so can you or someone help me get stared. thanx............

I found a nice cabinet at Ikea that works great for me. I paid $112 plus tax. I've got the left side as flower and right as veg. I think complete total cost after everything for this project is around $800. These are pics from when I first built it. I have since added things here and there.

Here is the flower side with 400w hidhut digital hps aircooled by pyrex bake tube, wooden duct, panasonic whisper inline fan, carbon scrubber, timer, power supply, timer. At the bottom is an attic vent painted with flat black. Since pic I have added a fan inside with the plants, an adjustable shelf with holes in it from middle to the floor. I added plywood to the back and left the top open for ventilation.

This is the right side with a veg room and clone room. I swapped the clone bulb to a 6500K one. In the veg room I've got two 65w Fluorex lamps that seem to be working great. The shelf adjusts and has holes in it for airflow. At the bottom is a wall vent. Currently has a fan sitting on the vent blowing cool air into the bottom. The room vents out through that black hole at the top left of the veg room. This is an abs pipe that links into the vent on the other side.

This is the bottom of the cab which was designed with drawers. I made it into a flip-down faux-drawer that I open up for extra airflow. The back of this part is open for airflow, too. I haven't really noticed any light being able to go between chambers since the vent to the flower room works well and the bottom of the pots are over the top of the vent.

I've got more pics that I might be able to put up sometime in the future. Currently I've got the cab in full bloom so to speak.

Of course if you know what you are doing..................................
That is more like side by side boxes but good job. Admire the thought that went into and the skill invoved in building that box.

here's what it looked when i started

Hey Ed looks real good bro..The only thing I would change would be to mount your fan up and down to take away that 90 to improve air flow. The way it looks if you got glass on that hood witch I assume you do is as soon as you air comes in thru the intake it goes right out via the other air cooled hole. Switch so you pull across the room it improves circulation a lot. IMO this worked better for me and dropped my temps 4 deg.

I am gonna do as you suggested with my C-25 and use it stricly for blooming for now. I have been thinking about how to get my rig running quickly and easily and I fully ascribe to KIS (Keep it Simple). I found a good place to set up a stealthy mini bonzai mom veg area where I can easily get some clones and transfer them to the Boom Bloom Box (C-25).

Eddie or anyone else with a C-25 or C-13, do you have any problems with the back board of your cab with moisture? I am thinking of using blue board to reinforce and waterproof it b/c I will be using a DWC hydro set up.

Oh and check this site out below they have a huge selection for use in design.

thanks for your comments. just so i understand, you mean move my two computer fans so they are blowing towards the intake? i think this is what your saying. my temps are consistently at 72. the glass makes all of the difference.

i dont have any problems with moisture, but im not doing hydro. i did reinforce the back with some plywood (3/8 i think). seemed to provide more stability. good luck with your cab

No not at all....what im saying is to take the bends out of the ducting. Move your inline from horizontal to vertical. Use the other air cooled fitting ....it should force the air thru your room then out... instead of straight from your intake then out of your room. But if your temp are that low then sweet your on track. But if summer comes and you want to knock a couple deg off you might want to try it. It worked for me :joint:

gotcha...yes that makes sense. ill probably stick with my setup for now since im 2 weeks into flowering and everything seems to be going smooth. but i like your suggestion. it would give my light a little more vertical range as well. now i have the inline fan in the way so i cant bring it all the way up

thanks
