St0n3r I've had good luck taking clones during the first few (2-3) weeks into flower. Taking advantage of the stretch and the lower shoots you might cut off anyways you also get the added advantage of only cloning girls if growing from seed.

Anyone else using these sash locks? I just put this one on and I like how it works and looks

So here is my cabinet - temps are nice 72 max at plant level 78 max on the shelf with the ballast - ambient 70.

got four confirmed girls in there now and one boy that will be going somewhere shortly before he spills his pollen uncontrolably...

I'm thinking I should move the lamp down, but the edge of the bright spot is just at the top of the bigger plants in the back - should I bend the bat wing and lower?

neways thanks for looking - still gotta fix the back wall with something - I know :pointlaug

Maybe lower it a little, I would bend it to give it a better spread. What size cab is that? Very nice setup. Use the hand test (put your hands near plant tops) to see if the light is too hot. If it's not then consider moving it down. The good thing about those bat wings is that a small amount of airflow, even a pc fan, can be used to blow across the bulb and cool the light. Just make sure you circulate the air well if you do that so that the hot air off the bulb doesn't increase temp.

I used a lock similar to yours. I used a window lock on the front and then on the inside of one of the doors used a hook to make sure the doors stay shut.

hey sauce, thanks - the cabinet is a c-25 warddrobe. the top section is just for ballast and fan - all the growing is going on in the lower section. I'll mess with it tonight and bring it down a bit.

What size buckets are those and how many are in there? It looks like you sqeezed in 5x 3gal buckets but I can't quite tell.

Thanks

Sauce - they are 2 gallon buckets - standard home depot issue - and I have 5 in there now but I can fit a max of 6 total. That is the plan for the cabinet, but I think 4 is also going to work out well. They are DWC and the airpumps are outside the cabinet.

Nice you managed to make the most of the floor space. How is managing ph and ppm in a bunch of small buckets? or are they linked?

Is this the stuff people build their own hydro huts out of? http://www.acehardware.com/product/...y+film&parentPage=search&searchId=18927134872

I want to buy a bunch and use it to light proof my cab and eventually build a room out of it for a 1kw. I would feel more secure doing one grow with a 1kw and then taking a break and having bud all year instead of a few 400w grows.

What im thinking of doing with my cab is building another wall out of this poly stuff between the doors and the plants. this would light proof and seal the cab perfect. this weather stripping keeps coming out of place and its making me angry.

Id like the install a zipper vertically in the middle of the film so i could have easy access to my plants.

is this the correct type of material? how would i go about installing a zipper? is it tough to work with? totally light/air proof?

Ston3r slow down. Have a cup of tea. These cabs can be light proofed easily and you have a month to do it. You don't have to be light proof during veg. First make sure cabinet is on level ground if not shim cab untill it is level and square. Read instructions on how to adjust hinges. The hinges can be adjusted in all directions. I have been using mine for over a year and am on my 8th grow all on same weatherstripping and still light proof. That is really the only real advantage these cabs have over a home built is that they are true and square and look finished.
Plus people tend to go overboard on every little detail. Plants are not light proofed in nature. Often at night there is enough natural light to see clearly. Now that aint light proofed.
Also who am I to give advice on growing? noone untill these ladies started filling out making me look as though I know what I'm doing. Well it's not me it is the plants who know what they are doing. Ak48 at 3 wk flower. I could start screaming who gots the trees!!!! But after going back a few pages it is quite clear mrh2o gots a monster tree. Oh well. I still gots the treeees man!!!

they're not linked. I just change them all at the same time and just mix them up at the same time and let them go for 4-5 days and then dump and mix fresh. not the most efficient.

EDIT: nice grow sumo!

Yes you can use that but panda poly is the best, it's black on one side and white on the other so you have good reflection without mylar (still optional) or paint. Also I wouldn't buy it at Ace because it's a hardware store and will cost more than a large store like Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

There is a zipper available that you can tape or glue on there. To get it air sealed you would need to tape it or glue it really well, it will be light proof as long as you cover cracks with tape. Buy a lot of tape or glue or some kind of fastener.

Sounds like a lot of work but they probably work really well.

Cool cab sumo.

It's finally time that I'm able to meet the requirements of this club!!
After using a 400w and cheap ass batwing hanging in the closet I got off my lazy ass and put the C-25 thats been sitting in my room for months empty to use. The only thing that I didn't have laying around from previous grows was an aircooled hood, and thats only a fed-ex shipment away...
C-25, 400w HPS, 4" vortex...thats all the big stuff. I don't have any ventilation cut yet, so I haven't lightproofed either. With the doors closed using the cracks for intake I was running at about 77 F at the tops and 73 at the pots. Sooo much better than the upper 80's that I was getting using the whole closet :woohoo:
I'm planning on picking up a clipy fan today. Where can I get one of the dark room vent (lovours?) things that I was reading about earlier in this thread? (havent had time to read the whole thing. But I will!) After that it will be lightproofing time, and then I'll pretty much be done :joint:
And lastly for now (breakfast!) here is my lady that I chopped yesterday. Good thing she was ripe, I don't think I could have fit her fat ass in with the rest of them.

Sauce - it is a bit of work, but it allows me to tune the ppm to what each plant wants - I have one strain that just loves the nutrients (1100ppm) and another that is a very light feeder (700ppm) if I had a single res or linked buckets I'd have to run both at the lower ppms. Having separate buckets keeps root rot from spreading and allows me to do a perpetual harvest too.

nomoreschwag - looking good man - steer clear of the round mini-louvers I got from builders depot as they are not light proof as described. B&H photo has some, here's a link

Thanks Suga! Ordered the 8x8" square model. Figure that should give me plenty of intake. Especially since I'm only using the cracks around the doors now for my intake and keeping it 3-4 above ambient! LOL.

Lowe's carries a Cinchtite Tarp Zipper, in the seasonal area. It is a 7' peel and stick tarp zipper. Self adhering, just peel the tape off the back and stick to any tarp. Once attached, unzip and cut through the tarp with a razor knife. Instant opening or use two and make a doorway you can roll up. About 7 bucks. Great for greenhouses too.

I don't have an Item number but the bar code is: 0 41072 06025 7
not available on line from Lowe's.

A question about the C22 it comes with a partition that splits the cabinet in half. Do most use the partition or not. Is the partition needed for stability (I plan to add real wood for the backing)?

What kind of filter are you using with the louvers? A furnace filter from HomeDepot works well.

Ohh yea most deff. Put one on and check it in a week you'll be amazed. When you get your louvers you will be able to take the louvers off a put filter in between. Just remember to clean them frequently.
