well my setup has cooled down - it seems cutting the extra holes in the shelf were enough to bring me within 5 degrees of ambient at plant level with lights on - so I am happy with that. Will add a bigger scrubber when this one wears out (going on a year this month)

got the other plants in there and flowering last week so all is good :)

here's a picture

nomoreshwag - the c-22 is the next size up and is wider by a foot or two. I'm not sure the depth but I think it is the same as the c-25 (20"). unfortunately with the demise of the c-13 there is no longer a 24" deep wardrobe cabinet.

I'm building two different Mills Pride cabs right now. I'm dropping what I consider to be a decent amount of money on lights, hoods, inline fans, etc because I want to do it right... I'm making a C-25 into my veg chamber. 250w MH, 4" vortex, air cooled hood...
For my flower I'm using a 400w HPS, air cooled, vortex... but I can't find the cab I want. The C-25 that I'm doing now is just a little too small for what I need for flower. Is there one that is about a foot longer? If not, suggestions please.

c24 400hps

the c22 is the same size as this they renamed it from c24,,,,,,,,dwtc

Hey, bros...

I'm up and running again. Started 28 seeds, 7 varieties, 4 seeds per, on 9/23. Varieties started are: Spice Bros. Apollo11, Serious AK47, G13xButterscotch Hawaiian freebie,
RM Love Potion #1, Rez Sour Diesel IBL, DJ Short True Blueberry, and Rez Williams Wonder. As of tonight, with all the no show's and runts pulled, I'm down to: 1 A11, 3 AK47, 4 G13, 3 LP#1, 2 SD, 4 TB, and 3 WW. A total of 20 plants in 3 in. square pots. Got 'em in FFOF/Perlite, watering with a weak solution of ph-adjusted water/FF Grow Big/FF Big Bloom, growing under an air-cooled 250 HPS.

The C13 is all redesigned with a raised floor using 2x2's and wire screen, so now I can utilize the entire floor space with any pot config I want. I plan on transplanting up to 4.5 in. square pots that are deeper than regular pots, then into 8 in. round pots from HD. I plan on bringing 9 girls to maturity with an air-cooled 400 HPS.

The Vortex/CAN filter is now outside the C13 inside a trash can. Ducting runs from the exit hole of the air-cooled Super Sun hood, through the top of the C13, down into a hole cut into the lid of the trash can, then into the top of the Vortex. The Vortex sits directly on the CAN33 filter. The filter blows into the empty space inside the trash can, and then a duct runs out a hole cut into the side of the trash can. The entire trash can is surrounded by a thick padded mattress cover pinned together with big safety pins. So, I now have the entire C13 grow space at my disposal, and the fan/filter is now running so silent it can barely be heard.

The entire setup is still running in my uninsulated outdoor wooden 10x14 shed in my backyard with neighbors all around who don't know shit about what I'm doing. I'll post some pics later when I have the time. Got a sweet 6 megapixel Fuji that will take some awesome pics.

Abbie is back in business guys, get ready for an awesome grow show.

Later, y'all...

OK, folks, got my pics uploaded and here they are:

An outside view of my newly re-designed C13.

The pile of spaghetti you see here is the brains of the operation.

This is the best part of the new design, the fan/filter area.....now I can 'run silent, run deep'.....

The fan is no longer inside, only ducting.

My new floor, I just love it!

And a closeup of the new floor. Now I can put plants anywhere, while keeping the old-style pvc intake design.

And here it is with my babies at day 7 of veg. They had a rough start due to some heat issues, but they are taking off now. I'll get some better plant pics up later on once the grow gets going.

All the best.....

Suspension Lift system

I thought I would pass this on.
I stumbled across these suspension yoyo deals on another site.
I am going to mod my double closet setup this year and these will work perfect for lifting the lights and keeping my top area free.

This is the chepest, I have found them also.

Good to see all of the different cab setups.

AbbieDoobie, I have been eyeing that shade that you have for a 250 to 400W upgrade to my C13 but was holding off as I drilled my 6" exhaust right in the top center and didn't think that the exhaust hose would fit. I see that you have shown me the light however I will need to use a 4-6" adapter somewhere. Who make the flexable ducting that you are using?

Has anyone seen a "low profile" (depth wise) 4 to 6" adapter that I might use?

Peace

mysta177, SEEDYNONO, Closet Funk.......Thanks for the compliments, fellas!

This is my fourth grow in my beloved C13. Since I'm growing in an outdoor shed, I have a limited growing window of October to April. I've calculated that I can knock out 2 whole grows during that time period without the need to run an A/C, so I got rid of my portable A/C unit (it sucked anyway) and now I'm able to take advantage of the cool weather.

The little heater is a Lakewood from Walmart that keeps the cab in the zone.....today the temps were between 74 and 79, with the temps outdoors ranging from 40's to 60's. It's amazing I've never seen anyone else show a setup such as mine.

HashAssasin....hey, bro, I remember you! How's the grow goin'? Which one are you on now? The reflector I'm using is a Sunlight Supply Super Sun reflector. It fits perfectly in a C13. I have added 4" air-cool fittings and glass to my reflector. The ducting I'm using is rigid ducting from Home Depot. Go only with that, do NOT get that flexible shit, it rips and tears and is not as efficient in air flow.

This is my first attempt at doing it air cooled. At the 250 watt stage, I don't think it's gonna matter all that much, but when I switch to 400 hps, that sucker will get hot, but then again it will be into November by then. I'm thinking I'll save a few degrees going air cooled, but then again, I may want that extra heat in January/February, so I may go non-air-cooled then, and switch to air-cooled in March. I just loving tweaking this shit! LOL....

Take care, y'all....

Wow this must be the advanced class. Beginners could get a little lost with all these high tech cabs. Those light adjuster things look fancy but I see a wing nut on the side and if it is that type of operation where you have to use two hands and loosen wing nut then adjust and tighten wing nut I think I will just raise my light another link in the chain which I can do with one hand once again opting for simplicity.
Mrh2o, what a first post and first grow! I consider it an honor to host it. Even going hydro but what else for Mr h20.

I have never seen one. The adapters imo suck. I had that cheezy adt from home depot and that thing is big as hell. :chin: you might get some tin snipes and cut a couple of inches off. I just used metal tape and put half of the duct so it could suck air from both under the light and from inside the hood. This dropped the temp 4 deg. And I get the lil ladiez a lot closer.

AbbieDoobie, the grow is going very well as I finally managed to get six of DJ Short's Flo to clone and they are currently in veg.

sumo, those light adjusters don't require the wing nut to be fiddled with once you set the tension. You can just grab the light and pull down or push up. I have a pair but cannot use with my current reflector due to it's light weight.

mysta177, thanks for the tip.

I have beeb busy this last week harvesting a few outdoor and greenhouse grown Shiskaberry and am tired of trimming. One more to go tomorrow. It has been a great summer.

Peace

I must say, you guys have a very nice thread here and some great looking boxes. Well thought out. Mysta, thanks for the invite.

AbbieDoobie, I like the PVC bar on the left side of your cabinet. If anyone else hasn't noticed, it runs from top to bottom and gives something for his "clip fan" to hold on to. Very cool idea. Hmm, pun not intended. So he can adjust it up and down with no problems.

Xtbudda, those light suspension systems are really neat. I believe all you have to do is, lift the light to 'unlock them' and take it up and down as needed. Not really sure though. Lowe's has something like them to hang plants. The lead that goes down to the hanging pot is beaded. You lift the pot to unlock it and pull to the side to give yourself some slack. (self retracting) Then pull back the other way and the bead will lock in place. I have seen them in the 'inside garden area' and also in the Hardware section with hanging supplies. They are around 12$ a piece so mail ordering the 'Sun Lifts' sounds better.

I am working on a grow area myself but am still toying with what I am going to do. I have a small box for little plants but it is small. My project is a metal frame that I can cover, say 2-1/2 by 3 feet, on wheels. but it will stand out.

Mainly, I am in the Southern US and it gets hot here. Luckily we have some cooler weather now but mostly it stays hot. Like shorts on Christmas day hot. Winter is usually during January and February. Then after a few weeks of spring and it seems like summer again. I spoke with a guy by the Moniker "Mike's Big Balls", and his idea is to grow big during the cooler months and shut down when it starts heating up. That way, the risk of getting caught growing is less. Higher numbers during the grow season though. Our state is backwards. If your growing, you will most likely get charged with "manufacture of a controlled substance", a felonly. Doesn't matter how many plants you grow but the more you have, the worse you will be off. So grow big and bury the rest.

Anyway, that is my situation and what I am thinking about. Talk with yall soon, Joe.
