I don't know if anyone is thinking about using Expert Gardner soil from Wal-Mart, but I suggest that you don't. I've used Expert Gardner for a couple of years with very good results until I purchased some in the new packaging. The composition of the medium changed and not for the better. I can't even count how many plants I had to toss over a 4 week period.

about to join the club! I am pretty sure its not a mills pride that home depot carries anymore but its exactly the same. ordered my 250w hps tonight and will pick up the c13 this weekend. only other big purchase I need is my exhaust solution.

does anyone have any suggestions on an exhaust solution for me thats less than $150? I know I need a carbon scrubber and a fan of some sort but both seem super expensive. I want about 265cfm. are there any cheap fans/filters out there that I am missing?

Get a squirrel cage fan and make your own carbon filter. Maryland hydroponics ,MDhydro has good prices.
Big Up to simon.
Sup Massive crew! Who knew? These little cabs are sure getting alot of attention. We must be on to something here. Answer to question in my last post, Maliboo. Where you are going is a function of where you have been. Remember pictures of the igloo I made my son? Probably not. Well I just started a tree house which is more like a tree platform right now. Awsome tree stand but my 4 year old son will have to use his imagination. He loves it.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. My boxes are unchanged: 2xC22 with 2x600HPS', 2xVortex600s and 2xCan50s. As I mentioned in a previous post, a bad batch of medium really screwed-up my scheduling and I'm just getting back on track. I'm flipping one of the boxes tonight and the other in about a week. I'm hoping for colder weather to start soon, so that I can begin the Winter runs in my big room. I have a bunch of clones on deck - AK (cherry), AK/GG, Misty, Ice/NL, Grapefruit, NL, C99 and some test plants from seed.

Has anybody tried using a c3 as mother room its 24" x 24" x 34" looks like it will hold 4-6 mothers.

I have a box about that size that I use as a cloning chamber. When done with cloning, that's where I keep the moms. My box is ~30" wide and it can fit 12-17 6" square pots, depending. I keep the moms in 6" pots and most of the time flower them after they get too big, starting new moms from clone.

I am just starting to transplant my so far 4 confirmed females. Took the two smallest females and am having them share a pot. Just switched to 12/12 to force the remaining 5 plants to show. They have been vegging for 5 weeks and are about 12" tall. Only need two more females so if they are all female I could double up again or switch stronger ones for weaker ones. Probably should have vegged with the 250w instead of the 400w because of temperatures. Next grow will start in December so the 400w will stay. Because of temperatures which are now 85f but were reaching 90f the plants suffered a little. Some are a little stunted and the old growth was getting a little crispy on edges. This is about my eighth grow so I know the drill. My last harvest of Nir Ice and Indoor mix was largest yet and they got cut middle of august. They were suffering in beginning like these. Which is why I still don't vent hood. Ask any farmer if they have perfect growing conditions. Never. But if things don't go terribly wrong I will again have more produce than I need.

Sumo, how did Ice work out for you? How was its yield/potency relative to, say, AK? Did it stretch much? What was its finishing time?

Ice was good. For me just as good as AK in both potency and yield. They got tall on me and maxed out my space. I've been letting my plants veg over a month and flowering for at least 60 days. One of the buds I let go too long and it rotted a little. That is the problem with huge colas in the summer. This grow is AK again with a pack of Magical Mystery Mix. The AKs look like crap and whatever the mix is is doing much better. Any idea what is in the freebie Seeds Direct, Magical Mystery Mix?

Were they trees? Would you say they stretched 4X or more?

I've had occasional budrot issues, too, especially when I used to grow outdoors. Have you tried Serenade? I use it with all strains that are susceptible to budrot (along with added fans). I spray the plants at ~4 weeks into flowering. The stuff works extremely well.

Sorry, don't know.

I have tried this for powder mildew and it works good. I also noticed that it might have a prevention for spidermites. It also helps with budrot? Wow this is the shit. The only bad thing is you gotta be careful in flower. If the flowers get serenade they will turn pinkish red.

I haven't noticed that effect, to tell you the truth, but it could be kinda cool <grin>. Serenade is a terrific product. It saved an outdoor harvest during a Summer that seemed to have had more rain than sunshine. Its smell isn't exactly enticing, but the odor dissipates after a while.
