The Mill's Pride Club

Just wondering... Do you guys run your power cords and your entire grow from a 120v or 240v sockets... How many amps... Any breaks?

Where did you drill the hole for your power??? Im guessing where your ballast is...

I posted this earlier but it got overlooked.

so if you were growing in a c22 (c24) and used two 8 x 8 inch darkroom louvers and a 256 cfm fan then would you maintain negative pressure in the cab still?

I am wondering what temps you guys are keeping in your cabs with the doors clothes? What ambient temperatures are you guys experiencing in your rooms where the cabinet is housed?

I run a c-24 with a 6" vortex 400 HPS cool tubed, with 2 of those exact darkroom vents, and yes...still HELLA negative pressure...still sucks the doors closed...

Not too great, half the price on amazon for a set. :)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...760958/ref=sr_1_3/002-7464805-7289636?ie=UTF8

I run a 400w switchable. 4" Vortex, with two 8x8 vents installed and there is still plenty of negative pressure.

The C13 was my original cab but I've just picked up a Hydrohut Mini, and it will become the new flower room and the C13 for moms. I remember looking at bc-trichromefarmer's cab waaay back on the original OG thread and saying I WANT THAT, and basically copied his design with a few tweaks later on.

I buy those expensive 3M filters for your AC/Furnaces and cut them into 9x9 squares with tin snips, and use white duct tape to attach them to the outside of my darkroom vents and replace every other month. You'd be surprised how nasty they get in a month (I double layer too) literally brown. I'm very clean, and a smoker, but glad that nasty air isn't being vented through my girls.

Something to keep in mind.

Most recent (and last) C13 flower run, but haven't taken a new pic since 30 days flower, shit I think I'm chopping these plants tonight at 51 days. BOG Lifesaver.

How did you get your plants so tall with no bush on the bottom

Can someone give me some direction to some tutorials about providing electricity to a cab grow... A complete step by step from.
1. Power required for 400w hps, 265+cfm inline.
2. What kinda ciricut should u run to your grow ... Can you add a circiuit to your outside Breaker just for your grow and run an extension cord....

To sum this up here is a direct question:

Can you run an extension cord from a socket w/ 120v 15a socket, Into a power strip. Thus powering a 400w hps (HOW ABOUT A 600??), temp/humid gauges, 265+cfm inline. With no electrical fires/breaks or overloading the circuit.

I understand fully how to grow cannabis outdoors, and what it takes to set up a 400w indoor cab.... But not how to power it 100% fire proof and safely...

Please dont overlook this Q. with a few "NiCE GROW BRO" posts. Cause i dont wanna keep flooding this thread with stupid questions. Thanks.

I prune all branches that don't make it to the canpoy as well as all popcorn budsights on the bottom after the stretch is over. Not only for light but for room and air circulation as I'm packing a lot of plants in there.

hunt, your questions are far from stupid. in fact, they mark you as a smart (safe) grower. i am a rookie and my electrical knowledge is very weak so i cant answer you . i hope that one or more of the old pros steps to the plate and helps you out . also, if you hunt around, you will find a thread on electrical safety . sorry, but i cant remember where i saw it . good luck.

I'm not an expert but that's exctally how I do it. 4" 185cfm inline, 400w HPS, plus two smaller circulating fans in the cab, and an 8" fan on top of the cab blowing on the ballast. All plug into digital timers into a nice powerstrip, with an extention cord plugging it into a standard 120v 15a socket. It's the only thing I run on that circut... My setup runs from 7pm to 7am for flower. I've been through 3 flowers so far without a hitch, an electrical one that is. If you need more specifics do some searching around or someone less stoned than I can chime in.

Yeah you're right. I checked my order history and I got two (of the link I posted) for $39.98 total.

Thanks man thats what i was looking for... You pull off a few grows on that 120v/15a...

Oh and just to make sure...

the timers plug into the power strip right? And the appliance plugs into the timer?

Edit.

If you have a small veg/mother room attached to your cab is it cool to have its own powerstrip with say 4-6 45w cfl's all hooked up to their own power strip, then the power strip plugged into a extension cord , which is plugged into another timer and into the Original extension cord.

Wow. The thread is finally getting the attention it deserves. To help those starting out I will lay down some opinions. In my opinion only vent hood if absolutely necessary meaning you have high room or ambient temperatures. This way you can easily move light up and down so you don't need moveable shelf. I keep my light very close to plants. During stretch I may raise light a link every other day. This would be hell with shelf meaning you wouldn't be keeping light real close to plants to avoid hassle. Right now I have my seedlings just popping under 400w hps and thermometer says 90F. Some people would panic thinking temperature is too high. It's not. You have to shade thermometer to get air temperature. In the shade my thermometer would probably read 80F which is fine.
Start with "soil" especially in these small cabs. I don't think I could increase yield with hydro in a c13. I think it just unnecessarily complicates grow. I use miracle grow moisture control potting mix which has coco in it which I hear great things about. The coco can hold a lot of water without getting too wet if that makes sense. I can water and leave grow for a weeks vacation no problem. I also use miracle grow ferts just because they are cheap and readily available. Nitrogen is nitrogen. I also don't fert much because the mix has time release ferts which last a month or more.
If I have a philosophy about growing it is this. Keep it simple and complicate as needed. I say these things to help people get started and to keep them from overcomplicating their grow.
