i am convinced that darkroom vents are the way to go, problem is, i can only find them on-line. tried a large camera store, they havent stocked them for years; home depot has heard of them but likewise do not stock them. has anybody found a "brick and mortar" store that has these things ?

I filter the air both at 1 1/2" elbows and at darkroom vent intake. I use that black air conditionaer filter over darkroom vent and in elbows I use this stiff blue washable/reusable furnace filter stuff they sell at both some Home depots and Walmart. In elbows all dust collects just on one side of filter circle. You could just use like a half moon piece of this stuff to catch dust because as air shoots through this elbow it has to switch directions real fast to make turn and I guess dust has trouble switching directions like air and all ends up on the outside of turn on just the edge of filter. I filter the air to keep dust off of buds and to keep from clogging carbon filter I am blowing into.

How about 60 sqft of flowering screen in a C24?

How about 60 sqft of flowering screen in a C24?

Here's some pics from my nearly completed C24, complete with an external exhaust system, 2 x 8 inch darkroom louvers, 4 x 200 watt hps lamps, Bio-Tubs, 4 C99s from Female Seeds, and over 60 SQFT of flowering screen!!!

I give you the Tube(s) of Green, inspired by some Czechs at
www.grower.cz who are doing crazy things with vertical scrogs and 150 w hps lights. Search: G_MAN or prenda over there for more info. (Yes, I'm hunkering down for a long vege period, but what the hell else am I doing?)

Here is what is currently in my C13

6 x Kenny's Mix vegged for close to 12 weeks in 1 gallon pots then into some 4 gallon square pots that I found. Currently at day 45 of flower.

Smelling real good!

Peace

bostrom155,

Thanks and yes, I kept them in the 1 gallon pots for the first two weeks of 12/12 and then picked the best 6 to transplant.

Hello HashAssasin. Looks like you have lots of bud sites there on another killer grow. These are my biggest plants yet. I topped/femmed the tallest plants and they all turned male. All five of my females are trees. They are all over 3 feet tall. I couldn't grow any taller plants. Everything is maxed out. 3 Ak48 and two Shishkaberry from seed at 5 week flower. I think temperature played a big role in size. The temperatures were ideal this grow.

Ok I gotta asK>>> What size plywood should I use for the back of the c-24??
I searched the Mills Pride web site but they still list only the c-13 and c-22,
even though they both been discontinued.
On the c-13 i think it was 65''x 30'', is that still true for the c-25?

mysta177, that filter will definately help. Better to be safe.

wickedpete66, I got them at the Victoria location of http://www.pacific-hydro.com/ I think the webpage is new.

sumo, great to see your grow. I topped mine to create a canopy. Those buds look like a great size. They are growing right into the reflector. I guess the stretch has stopped? My Shishkaberry are just at the end of week 7 of flower. Should be about 10 days to go now. What temps you running? Mine runs 65 - 80.

acidblue, I used 5/8" thick melamine covered plywood for my C13 back.

Peace

Hey mill's pride growers.

Hey mill's pride growers.

Hey VE I see you made it over to the cab section. How's the veg comming? Still gonna flip'em come end of the week? Those were great shots of that cylinder SCROG the Czechs at
www.grower.cz did.>>>

lookin forward to your system as you get into flower.

I have 2 small Shiskas (cuttings from a talented fellow med user in my state) that I am training to a SCROG for the first time and it's some bit of work. This is my first grow well (1.5 cause I have some NL in flower :joint: ) I have broke 2 necks so far.. :pointlaug , but I'm learning the sqeeze and bend trick and it's making things easier.

That cylinder is going to take a lot of tying but hell yeah it's worth it!

My first post here and my cab's are not mills pride, but hey they were just going to the landfill so I grabbed them. :woohoo:

Much thanks to all you folks, vets and new cabbers alike. I would have never tried this without all the info you posted at sites like this and OG.

I only found OG maybe a month before it was lost :badday: , but I remember a guy named Nimby who was an excellent cabinet grower and great innovator.I took much inspiration from his work. I'm sure there are many others, they know who they are. Thank you.

The cabinets work great for my situation not so much for stealth reasons, but plain lack of space.

I saw another cabinet growers thread/club so since mines not a mills pride I'll probably keep my posts over there for the most part.

Anyway my cabs are 24"x31"x84". I'm going to try putting 800 watts of lighting in the flower cabinet and if it goes well I'll try for a total of about 1000. :pointlaug That will be months away though. Getting to 800 will be challenge enough.

What's up, caba? That cab you rescued sounds interesting. How are you getting 800 watts, two vertical 400s?

Damn, it's interesting you mention NIMBY. As much as I owe the Czechs for this grow, I also owe NIMBY for his super-simple take on Bio-"Buckets", the Bio-Tub! It couldn't be cheaper to setup, and couldn't be easier to maintain, provided you use RO water.

I'm on my 8th-9th week now without a reservoir change, don't own a PH meter, and only bought a Truncheon TDS meter a month ago, as I knew with the huge vege I needed, I wanted to push the plants to their limit on nutes. Awesome growth, beautiful, full, white roots, and branching/internodes everywhere again, with little or no maintenance. Setup includes: 8-10 gallon tub (6-8 inches in height), netpot filled with red lava rocks, and an $18 powerhead from Walmart Pet section, and @ 6 ft of air hose to connect to the powerhead. Total cost is @ $35, and setup takes minutes (and you don't need a freaking engineering degree to hook things up, and don't need to be concerned about leaks; the only way this tub's leaking is during an earthquake!). One tub can support two plants, and these two plants would easily, EASILY fill a "conventional" horizontal scrog screen in a C22 or C24 type cab (2 feet x 4 feet). Let me stress again, EASILY. Also, the system's almost completely silent, as there's only occasionally a bubbling sound (no 4-8 inch dropoff waterfall required).

I also loved his reasoning for growing C99, stealth dresser conversions, and an awesome auto refill reservoir option that kicked serious ass. He also stealthed out the back of a linen closet for his grow thak was slick as hell. I learned a lot from him, and wish NIMBY the best whereever he is. And no, he's Not In My Back Yard either!

O.T. NIMBY, if you're out there, shoot me a PM (we did on OG several times; I had the funny/timely writer's name).

Hey Vern, I haven't ran 800 watts in there yet, but hopefully soon.

Right now I'm testing the temps with a 400 HPS for the canopy and x2 of the New Wave t5 2' -4 bulb lights with mixed spectrum 6500k/3000k for side lighting.

I'm running +6-7 degrees over ambient with the 6" vortex running at full power (449 CFM) with these three lights and thats with the 400 watt ballast inside the cabinet :pointlaug so I think I can get the temps a little lower.

The 400 watt Future Brite ballast drives the 400 HPS at about 420-430 watts (love those electronic ballasts) and the 4 bulb t5's are 96 watts each, so I'm currently running around 600 watts making about 70,000 lumens in the cabinet.

I'll have some pics in a few days. Maybe by then there will be a noticeable difference in flowers on the t5 side. CF

Hey guys, thinking of putting 2 x 150 HPS in with my 400 in a C24, I put one in on the right side. Pics in a bit

You guys are amazing.
I have been inspired.
If my girlfriend gives me the green light on this project (I am selling her on how stealth I can make it) then I plan on putting together a cab of my own.

I have a HydroFarm 430w HPS (http://www.plantitearth.com/store/product.asp?pid=456&catid=54). I would like to put it into a Mill's C-24 (or whichever one is 18"x4'x6'). I am especially keen on Sumo's approach and will use darkroom vents and small computer fans for airflow. I intend to put a 6" inline Vortex blower for exhaust through a homemade filter.
My major concern right now is my hood. I know that I need to modify it so that it can fit into the cab properly (prependicular to the doors), but I am worried that this reflector will limit my ability to properly cool the light and cab.
Can I put some ducting above the light for exhaust or do I need a new reflector/light?
Lastly, what type of yield can I typically expect from a c-24 under 430w?

Depends depends depends. 18" x 4' is 6 square feet of floor room for buds. I don't know if you're going to have a seperate cabinet for mother plants/veg/clones but I'll assume you do. So that gives you 6 square feet to flower under with about 4 feet of vertical grow space after you subtract out about one foot for the light's space, and one foot for pot size. Personally I'd put 3 plants with very big pots in there and LST them (tie them down so they don't grow straight up) and you should be able to pull at least a quarter pound (4 ounces).

Howdy all. By all means build a box. I haven't paid money for ganja in the USA going on two years. And with some very small transactions to a friend ,recouped initial investment. Self sufficiency rocks. How are your ambient temps? Your hood couldn't restrict air flow unless it really takes all the width and length of cab. That isn't usually the weakest link. I only use 4" vortex but have low ambient temps. Although this grow is a little stretchy on three out of five plants but I think it was the seeds. Funny how noone has posted since May and then some dude discovers the pertinent info within. We may have saved yet another soul who was condemned to buy whatever weed was available. Good luck.
