All of these cabs are wider than they are deep so reflector direction applies to all. There are many ways to skin the cat and if you insist or need to air cool your light then this makes it difficult to run reflector front to back. Your reflector is not as pronounced as most and might not make much difference but in general the reflectors are rectangular and you place them opposite the rectangular shape of cab because of the way they throw light. You are throwing light or it's bouncing off of reflector to the front and back. You can see dark area on left side of cab. If the reflector was throwing light side to side you can see how this would light up more of cab. Maybe the back of cab where socket is would be darker but so what? It's the back of cab. You could also just lower right side of reflector and throw light a little more evenly it looks like.

Good job monkeyman but ideally the reflector works better turned 90 degrees running front to back. My first grow was 250W hps with a cheap duct fan booster $20. Worked and the buds lasted till even larger harvest on 2nd grow. For those just designing cab with lower to normal ambient temps I would suggest starting simple. Maybe there is a reason my system works so well.

Looks too simple right?

Now look. Better? Those little computer fans blow that hot air to front of cab where it goes up and gets sucked out with that 4" centrifugal. When I didn't have the killer fan I used a hood with glass cover but no ducting. The hot air would float out top of hood and get sucked out. Cool fresh air is always being brought up from below. Look how close my 400w is to plants. No burning or wilting at all. My motto is start simple and complicate as needed.

Where di yo9u get those little fans and do you have to wire them? I realy dont want to wire, more of a plufg and go. I do like your set up though.

Nevermind

Edmunds Scientific, surplus computer fans. Yes wire them to any 12v converter. You know, the chargers everyone has for cell phones and such. So you are only wireing 12volts. Not dangerous unless you shock yourself plugging it in.

Hey Sumo

What are the ambient temps in your basement. I'm going to build a c25 very similiar to yours. I'm not going to use a cool-tube. I've got a 6" elicient inline and a 400w hps. Room temps will be 70 f or so. I want to grow some sativas and will need the height. Do you think that will work with a scrubber and exhausting into the room which has it's own window a/c?

Hey guys
Thought I'd share some of my Cali-O, not the biggest, but it's hard to get alot out of her, but i'm working on it.
I cut it at 51 today. Looking for more of a head high, last time too much amber i was too high, it's for day stuff.

P.A. My ambient temps are 65f-75f. Yes it will work. Get a speed adjuster for that 6" because you wont need all of that ,often. Also keep it simple and use a darkroom vent/louvre.

I'm torn between 2 8" darkroom vents and 1 12" vent. The twelve has more area than the two 8" but it cost about $20 more than the 2 8" together. Which should i go with?

I have no clue of your exhaust, but if you can get by, I'd get 2 so you can air coming from differant areas.

I have a C24 though which is a lot wider then a c13. Wouldn't turning it sideways limit my light rather then help the problem?

Monkeyman, flip your light front to back, instead of side to side, just re work the fixture. Heres a few pics of mine.

And the old way i had it

Hey Bostrom!

Whatever works for you dude. I am thinking about using the wire shelf setup. I want to put it just about 6-7" off the ground with a rubbermaid beneath it to catch run-off from watering the plants.

Yea its nice to adjust if needed. I take my plants out one by one, but your idea sounds good, just keep the water dumped out all the time. Maybe sprinkle some bti granules (mosquto dunks) in the bottom..no bugs.
