Pineapple,

That is definitely a keeper. Now you gotta grow it out and be amazed!

On the subject of landraces, I sure wish I could find some Michoacan that is for real. There has to be someone who held seed when the paraquat was being sprayed. Every time I look the strains I find are hybrid with something.

I smoked some in the '60s and it was the most psychedelic stuff I have ever had.

i have one single michoacan cut..it is not hybridzed at all

it is my fave right now ..

it is not psychedelic ,at least not how i am growing it indoors..

there is no sedation thats what i like about it

i hope to self it

it is so hard to find non hybridized old mex seeds

I have contacted with Mexican mota friendly groups in FB. All of them are young kids showing Kush hybrids buds pics.

Also I have many Mexican friends, some of them in Acapulco. All the pics they show are heavily Kush/Afghan hybrids. Friends from Acapulco ask me for Acapulco Gold seeds!!!

I often look for some info and pics from marijuana busts in Mexico in the news, and most plants are squat indica (BLD). Sometimes you can find one with sativa (NLD) leaning plants, at least in appearance. But they are pretty uncommon.

A friend from Oaxaca sent me a few seeds in 2008, but the plants were hybrids with a strong Skunk like stink. I have also grown Sensi Mexican Sativa and you can easily recognise it is hybridized with Pakistani hashplant. You can find the smell and the high it isn't from a real sativa.

I know many old Mexican landraces weren't the best weed in the world. But it is worrying in such a big country as Mexico with a deep rich tradition in marijuana growing and with so many landraces, even the good famous ones, seem to have vanished among this crazy Kush indica fever.

Weed activists in Mexico follow closely the trend of cannabis culture in USA, as in California, Colorado, PNW,... forgetting their own rich tradition. That includes the new hyped indoor hybrid seeds and merchandising.

Poor Mexican heirlooms, so far from God and so close to the United States!

suoreste mexicana from Snowhigh. I know she's not a pure line on her own but this is the most thin leaf of the sisters, tallest and slender flowers.

I have crap loads of seeds I need to freeze and yea sleepy weed is the norm from Mexican brick, but it's not pure indica all the time it's hard to get pure indica from Mexican brick it's mostly Sativa dominant hybrids or pure fast flowering Sativa's 3 months flowering from what I have seen. Lots of stuff has mango or onion garlic smells some grassy and most have a bit skunk I haven't found lemon or pine I do get a bit of orange or tangerine peel sometimes. Sometimes earthy flavors stick to your palate you taste them when you talk but it's subtle.

This latest collection is about 7years at the oldest I think? I need to freeze them their just dying in a glass jar on top of a tile floor that keeps them in the 60s f I don't want to be another poor schmuck trying to revive old ass seeds and failing.

I need to freeze them but I'm afraid I won't seal them right and will fuck them up, damn it. I just need to hurry and freeze them. I should only keep the freshest stuff out. those other seeds I pay for are dying also what a fucking shame being that I know exactly what to do. I could of had seeds from 2003 in the deep freeze still sprouting fine but the laws make people paranoid and they trash things ( not me ) and loosing your collection trying to store it would be the worst thing ever and not freezing is killing them slowly. I will do this soon very soon I refuse to let my seeds die on me

This looks pretty NLD to me... Not sure if jagged serrations are a Afghani thing.. Seems like Afghani, and Nepali ive seen have similar sharp jagged fans. With enough time, and adaption seems feasible.
This is suppose to be 80s mexican bagseed that was backcrossed using a Sensi Mexican Sativa Oaxacan x {Durban x Paki}.

She is definitely special, I'm gonna do some updates and talk about the experience soon.

Hola ahortator,

Very well said and it is very alarming to think the landrace diversity of Mexico is disappearing. I agree we need to save the Landraces and put them in as many hands as possible for preservation. There is no room for hoarding or withholding seeds from the community, especially when it is commercially motivated. Caring is sharing amigo and I have been spreading my mexicans far and wide.

Saludos

i smoked oaxacan from escobar fem and must say good quality to the high, 30min litttle racy, aroused body, red eye happy little disorienting onset ,,,,
and then al day high upbeat,,, but full spectrum happy anti anxiety and calming and productive and not sleepy, very clear and medicinal from my view

it was hard small buds and orange- brown pistils, lime green, tasted strong like christmas tree/mentol pine/

also with alcohol she keep you all night long and easily keep you drink double amount because keeps you always little sobered

@willydread- No, this isn’t Purple Mexican from Cannabiogen. It’s just a sexy Mexican girl that’s purple. Pure NLD, no hashplant in this one.

Here's a red stemmed phenotype of Zamalito's highland Oaxacan. I'm surprised at the diversity of phenotypes in the S1.

The picture doesn't do it justice, this is pretty much my favorite plant in terms of structure. I don't often see this asymmetrical growing structure, it looks like it's growing two tops at a time.

The seeds were distributed by BSC and an S1 generation was made by idiit from the only seed he managed to pop.

Well done with the Acapulcos at that latitude. Was that line also from Zamalito?

I tried to capture some stem details here. Here you can see what it's doing with the branches. Someone wants to bush out! It is also a very red plant and the contrast between red and green parts makes for some eye candy

Interesting. I hadn't memorized the whole Preservation dude story but after doing some reading it seems like my Oaxacan is also likely to be from him. That could potentially make it an older line than Zamalito's ca. '95 one.

"[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]the oaxacan highland red that I called jezebel (hor) was a dead ringer for zamalitos oaxacan that he personally sourced. however, luiz according to below quotes sourced preservation dude's oaxacan. luiz would not give out the sourcing. I made some assumptions it seems from re-reading old posts. don't know. still murky area."
