Haha, sorry to be a thread killer!

It is nice to have a little discourse on the unique area the Kushes originate from. As it is, these native strains are in great danger.

a global market in cannabis in which licenses to cultivate and sell cannabis are provided by central governments is a strategic solution to winning the "War on Terror" and countless other conflicts from Congo to Colombia.

I couldn't wish for more! Unfortunety after having my crops seized by gov't forces, I'm a glass-half-empty-kinda-guy right now. :bashhead: :frown:

OK, now back to the pictures! Looking good, Afghanicus!

ah well since the thread is dedicated to "Real Kushes" just thought I might take the liberty of expanding that to "Kushes and Reality" for a second :)

"Real Kushes" and " Kushes and Reality"... you have reason, i´m agree with you. I think that when we are talking about Kush also we must talk about the differents locations and the reality situation of this region. Good work ngakpa. Your info is very important and interesting.

I love this thread.

Peace and love.

The closest ive had to any real kush is probably Hindu or Master.
Bubba is similar to my master cut but the master stays more squat with barely any stretch both have that kush spice. My buddy finishes his master/hydro in 45 days flat and all of the heads are already white & foggy and the buds are super chunky. Whats the most pure ghani/paki plant youve worked with bub?

Wow... This thread is seriously awesome.

ngakpa, thank you for all this wonderful insight and information. I would absolutely love to visit this region of the world and experience the culture and scenery.

And I certainly hope these genetics are not lost in the future. It would be a horrible loss for everyone I think. I hope there are people out there doing their best to preserve these lines.

Anyway, great thread. I love learning about all this.

many thanks for the kind words - like I say, the more I learn about these regions the clearer it becomes to me that these plants and the politics of the region are intimately and unavoidably intertwined... legitmised cannabusiness is the way ahead for stability and propserity in the Kush region - how many more generations needed before that first legal crop can work its wonders? enogh preaching from me anyway, Ngakpa

I don't know that I can add more Grizz. In the late 70's-early 80's, broadleafed short plants that reeked of skunk & fit Clarkes description to a T were a dime a dozen out of the region, & the situation seems much different now.

It is evident that Hindus from ancient India's (Hindustan's) border states such as Gandhaar and Vaahic Pradesh were massacred or taken as slaves by the Moslem invaders who named the region as Hindu Kush (or Hindu Slaughter,or Hindu Killer) to teach a lesson to the future Hindu generations of India. Unfortunately Hindus are not aware of this tragic history. The Indian government does not want the true history of Hindu Moslem conflicts during the medieval ages to be taught in schools. This policy of negationism is the cause behind the ignorance of Hindus about the Hindu Kush and the Hindu genocide.

From this article....Hindu Kush means Hindu Slaughter

Short but sweet explenation of why it's called what it is today.

Anyone know?

Anyone know?

How do the Afghani farmers breed? Doubt if they do any serious breeding and cross hatching... just my guess of course. My experiance in Turkey in the early 80s showed mr that the crops where for HASH only, as the plants them selves where not very good at all... Perhaps the Bad bag of buds I got from the Kurdish was already seived for hash?
I remember it took me a long while to explain to him I wanted BUDS and not hash... he just shrugged his shoulders and came back a few days later with what I wanted...... He was right. Why on Earth would you want the Weed its self.
They make hash because the Herb its self sucks. Now the question is this.
Do they just shuck the seeds and Grow Males and Females to get seed for next season with little regard to taste and potency, Sort of Land Race like.

Or are they breeding for High End Pot now days.... Mabe they always did and I just got some Seived Bud?

I know your talking about Pheneotypes with Hindu Kush... Did someone find the killer Pheneos out of the hundreds of Bad Pheneos in the Landrace and breed them as IBL?

There is or at least was a reason they made hash out of the crops.

Oh and Mr. Hill thank you very very much for your work with DC my Favorite for the past cpl of years!
