Hey Fellows,

Great thread. Anyone here try cashcrop nutes by dutch-glory. I am using them in coco, and loving it. Also they are organic so that's another plus.

Salt Build-Up B-Gone

Salt Build-Up B-Gone

Seeing examples of the smart-pot, I punched my plastic grow bags full of little holes, just to see the effect... I used a tool dressmakers use to trace patterns – a wheel with pins on the side – the result was hundreds of holes, making the plastic seem almost mesh-like.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm if the roots did grow more dense, but what I did notice, was that I stopped getting salt-build-up.

Looking a bit closer I saw that instead of moving up and sitting on the top of the coir like a white crust, the salt precipitate through the holes in the bag, and collect on the outside, away from the roots.

No more monthly flushings. I just wipe the salt away, with a clean cloth ,every now and then. Happiness.

Well THAT'S interesting. I hope this happens to my homemade airpots. I'm making mine out of window screen.

Ggreat thread, been enjoying the sporadic reading i've been doing for some time now. I'm currently starting up my first coco handwatering grow and have a few questions for you pros...

I am going to be handwatering about 50-60 Two gallon grow bags every two days with House and Garden A&B, cannazyme, and some cal/mag. I might add some kind of carboload or sweetener like Sugar Daddy and will be adding PK 13/14 or Atari's Bloombastic for boost starting the 3rd week of flowering. What I am confused about is how to properly water these guys and drain the pots on the ground. I don't really have any idea how to go about setting up a system so that my 60 grow bags on the ground can run off 10-15% water without sitting in the water that runs off. Am I shit out of luck and going to need a tray if I don't want to put a saucer under each individual pot and empty the run off after every watering? Also, does anyone have a recommended amount of water for each pot or is it basically just don't let the coco get dry in between and measuring the amount given to each is kind of overdoing it?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Problems again with coco

Problems again with coco

Well I must say, I am not sharing the "awesome" feeling you all are about coco. this is my 2nd attempt with it, and again something is going wrong. pH is 5.7-5.8, 150ppm of Cal-mag plus, 100ppm of Liquid Karma, 400ppm of PBP Grow and 8ml/g of Grozyme for a final ppm of 650ppm.

Should I be adding more cal-mag?

i would recomend to use coco specific nutes..

I am using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro for Soil/Coco, says right on the bottle :S What is a good base ppm for water+cal-mag mix before adding everything? Is 150ppm to low? I am using 0ppm water and adding 150ppm of Cal-Mag, and then adding my nutes.

Thanks

Some feedbadck plz guys.
My clones are 10 days out of humidity today. I began my Lucas method from here on, 2mL a gallon of FNB, i am gonna use superthrive a drop a gallon every other watering, until flower. i have been giving them 35ml of water every day, since out of chamber, 1st week the received nothing but superthrive, and tap water. day 8 1/4tsp Floranova grow, 1/4 tsp floralicious plus, 1/2 tsp cal mag, and some superthrive. bout 500ppm after -160ppm for tapwater.

CHECK OUT THE ROOTS ON THESE BAD BOYS, 10 days old (+10 days in humidity chamber)and there roots are more impressive then any growth. This is exactly what i have been trying to do by daily watering, low amounts. In 10 Days i already have some roots starting to spiral in the cup. The top is definitly getting a little dry, i increased water to 50ml a day now. Am i already supposed to transplant? i mean this was the root mass of my previous grow, but it was about 3x the height?!

I watered one of the clones till i got run off today. he weighed about 350g when water came out, he wont be dry for about 4 days now but i needed a good idea of wats goin on.

My run off PH was perfect, 6.0 : ) 5.8 goin in
my PPMs were 1420 on the dot. Whats does this say? should i flush them all, is that wayyy to high? i dont see nute burn but is this responsible for pale appearance? i dont know what is up with the slow growth with this volume of roots, and also why are they so pale, i hope they take off soon!
Never had this happen before, could it be the 1/2 tsp of cal-mag i gave 1st feeding 5 days ago????

well have to see, they look very happy today, especially after their watering and a mist. Even my 2 slackers, are going well.

please take a look at the pics,Any IDEAS!!!??? COMON!?:1help:

1420ppm does seem pretty high for that early in veg. I think 600ish is a good number for mid veg, and 750ish to peak of veg. That always worked for me other then in coco, as I am having some problems myself lol

bonecarver_OG when you mix your distilled water with your tap water, what is your final ppm of you water? I think my problem may be cal/mag problem as I am not adding near 5ml/gal of the Cal-Mag Plus. Anyone have any input on that matter?

Cheers

metal god,

This is straight from hydro stores mouth, all three of them for coco.
5mL every watering with cal mag in r/0 water(or cal-mag deficient tap), 10ml every watering if deficient.

@ metal_god69

Here's a thought out of left field....

You know how the manufacturers ALWAYS say to mix your nutes by adding the micro first. I don't know the real science why, but I think if you add the bloom first, then some stuff in the micro gets locked out or precipitates out of solution.

If you are adding the Cal-Mg+ before the micro, maybe try switching it up.

Yeah...crazy idea. But, who knows??

im at work right now, ill post what my ppm is after 5ml of cal mag. i do remember it does shoot it up a lot. you try getting a water test, and see how much your tap contains nutrient wise. also, from my exsperience with my last run, i would give it 3 waterings with 10mL and then back to 5mL. haha i turned a deficieny into nute cal mag burn.
