I'm looking forward to seeing all that Thai influence... I hope some of it makes it all the way down to where I'm at, but I doubt it.

Are you going to be running any of the longer season plants outdoors? Doing anything to be able to?

I ran the OHaze/Skunk1 plant outdoors last year. Still have a bunch of buds off it. I picked the last of it in December I think.

I want to make something that tastes like incence, has solid buds, headrushes like a horse, and finishes in 10 to 11 weeks

And grows real big outdoors!

That sounds like a great combination. Incense is the one flavor/ smell that has eluded me all these years.

Its time consuming, and tedious. Every branch is tabled. Every cutting is labeled. Every lable is transferred at repotting each time.
I'm digging for gold, and its worth the work

Gotta tighten me game. Got two mothers in the greenhouse that I lost the labels to... Hoping I'll recognize them when they get a little bigger. Props for the organization, DP!

Use sharpie indelible pens, and make new tape lables every time You transplant to larger pots.

Old Betsy

Old Betsy

Trinity Gold: What can you tell me about "Old Betsy"?

Dr. Purpur: Sounds like a fun winter project... I wish you success in your crossing!

Brain

I'd like to get in on this for 2011. WC Dog, Purple Chem Dawg, Ol' Betsy, Blockhead, Sour D, OG Kush, Blue Dream, Green Crack, Grape Stomper, Cherry Slyder.

Fillthepotmore-- Do you know which Blockhead cut you had? If you got it from Butte I assume it's Sha's cut. That's the one I'm running. How'd she do for you? From what I know about Ol' Betsy is she is early and dank from San Diego. Love the smoke. Possibly northern lights which make sense as she reminds me of Swt#3 alot.

Block Head

Block Head

Brian: Last year there was one Blockhead amidst the "Big Farm" and she was a beauty. There were a lot of ladies with gigantic kolas; however, she was profound and extremely manageable. She easily yielded 8+ pounds (I'll check my notes - it could be more)... And yes, she was originally from Butte's garden.

Thanks for the info regarding Ol' Betsy... A quick google search didn't produce much... I did read it was from San Diego and had the ability to produce 3.5 lbs indoors... If that holds true, she should be quite the contender for the California Hills!:dance013:

I know the old betsy is from san D. It is early fat and dank. It's been in nor cal I heard for 10 years or so. I'm pretty sure IC user Randy California is the dude who introduced it to our little circle of big plant growers but who knows who is who really

Here’s the list from my travels this late summer. Drove over 2000 miles to collect these genetics directly from the gardens of the “Best of the Best”. Here’s what I know:

Alien goopak (fisher)
Alien kush (soulie)
Blackberry kush (tom hill)
Blockhead (Sha’s)
Blue dream (my cut)
Blue frost (sept 26) (butte county)
Bomb threat (Bubba Kush S1 #7 via Nspecta then Tom Hill)
Buddha's passion (trinity county)
Cheese (same cut I've been running for years)
Chem 4 (tom hill)
Cherry assassin x OG (#1) (barefoot via elkie)
cherry assassin x OG (#3) (barefoot via elkie)
Dj's blueberry (elkie)
Gush (Goo x OG) (fisher)
Kush cleaner (oct 3) (sha)
Mendo purps (trinity county)
Mr nice (nevada county via trinity county)
OG kind (nevada county via trinity county)
Old Betsy (nspecta via elkie)
Piña (nevada county via trinity county)
Shire (SSH x SD) (fisher)
Sour diesel (nomaad’s cut)
Tangerine (trinity county)
Triangle kush (tom hill)
Ultimate bubba chunk (LUI x (BK x DC)) (butte county)

Everything is veggin’ right along as the secret projects unfold here. Watch for a grow thread from me this year as work started for the ’11 season before all the plants were even out of the ground. Going to be a lot of fun!

Relax a little, everyone. Spring will be here soon enough!

I ran across a solar powered pump with automatic timer today and wanted to share this with yall. Does anyone here have one of these? I'm interested in getting one but I'd like to hear a good testimonial first. I don't think it'd be good for pumping long distances or up big hills but it would aid in making some large plants....oh and watch the video too if you check it out.

http://www.irrigationdirect.com/solar-powered-rain-pump-with-automatic-timer

You can get it with an up to 8 event per day auto timer and typical runtime of one hour can be recharged in 3 hours of sunlight and it can be run for up to 4.5 hours at a time. The flow rate is up to 198gph and operates at 45 psi. I'm thinking if you had some 12v DC timed valves you could water different sections at different times.

Their motto is "the grass just got greener". :D I'm using a honda wx-10 now but this would be nice because I wouldn't have to be there to water and alot less noise if any noise at all. Anybody seen one of these in action???

I check in here from time to time to see if Tom has uploaded any shots of last season's crop in bloom - something I'd love to see after reading what humboldtlocal had to say about them. Who wouldn't like to see some of these giants? But after all the titillating shots of 8 foot blue dreams in mid cycle - followed by pictorial demonstrations of securing the plants with plastic netting etc. - instead of seeing 15 foot Blue Dreams with bold flowers, all I got is blue balls and a cold shower.

Just playing it safe?
