I cant wait to try out my new dirt. locals call it potato soil. it feels almost sandy, really easy to dig too, supposed to have good drainage. this whole area was all once used for farming until the cost of the land went too high. a big change from the hard packed clay i was on before.
It seems like a waste to not incorporate some of this native soil in my new mix this year, anyone ever heard of this type of dirt for ganja growing?

Next year i will grow Himalaya Gold in Romania , Bucharest (lat 45) .

yes you will Marian and you have a great plan already...proper planning is the best! If you have good sun you will probably get much more than one pound. Try starting your seeds march 15 if you can and if possible grow them indoors or in a greenhouse with supplemental lighting and then put them outdoor may9 or so. The bigger the plants are when they go outside the bigger your harvest usually.

I cloned all plants including Males. I threw them into bud on 12-23-10, then moved the 13 Males There are 20 3' tall girls. I hope to make a minimum of at least 35 crosses.
So basicly this is a Multi task run. Its a breeding project, its a find more mothers project, and Its a sort through all the plants in preparation to put the best of the best out in the Orchard. No surprises, No hassling with Males outside.

OG Kush/Master Kush/Sour Diesel. I think it will make a very big outdoor plant. Im going to put it into the 300 gallon hole. Smells like ripe tropical fruit, and gives the massive headrushes

Hey Nomaad...it's Yankee Grower. Had to come back and help REv with some stuff and reclaimed my first online handle. Hope all is well for you and the family.
Have you ever checked into expanded shale for your soil mix? I did some research into it a few years ago and there's a company over in like Martinez at the port where you can get the stuff for cheap by the yard. They have a few different grades/sizes. One grade they had was old production and very cheap. Think the newer stuff was coming from another furnace and more expensive. Anyway neat stuff I thought...a bit like perlite but not. Pretty sure the company I was chatting with was TXI. They were gonna let me load up a pickup for free to test the stuff out.
I still think the compost from Full Circle Compost rocks. Not too expensive by the pallet coming from the other side of the Sierra's.
Zeolite is another interesting thing and recyclable like expanded shale. Provides a nice CEC boost among other things.
I think mainly gonna work with tomatoes this year...literally...LOL! When I get my post count up will give you a shout. When you get going with those CCM's lemme know. May not get down South for a few months.

I've got my chicken wire and slowly stockin up on FFOF soil cant wait till May got my little patch of woods picked out as well though i'm avoidin going back there till its time good luck happy growing to all

I had a question that I might have missed in the thread, but hopefully I could get some help on it.
I would like to grow my medical garden on a part of my property which is unable to get power from the main property ( b/c of a road as well as other obstacles). That being said, I would like to run supplemental lighting similar to TomHill's method, around the end of April, till around the solstice.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to have some sort of power source on a timer in a remote area to run 12 x 25watt cfl's? Can I use a car battery? Perhaps solar panel kit? Both??
My experience with off grid power is minimal so any and all help is appreciated,

I can be done via 12 volt deep cycle batterey + DC timer + Solar panel + charge controller. Mke sure you get the 12 volt CFL's. 1 25 watt cfl draws almost 2 amps at 12 volts dc. They draw more at start up. In theory you can light up one 25 watt cfl for 100 hours on a 200 amp hour DEEP CYCLE battery. 12 x 2 amps x hours a day. I think you will need a few batteries and a few panels top keep them charged or you can charge them with a generator.

I was wondering if the general outdoor pathway ones would work, if I put two or three around each plant. Also the Solar led christmas lights look interesting. Aloha icmag family,
Winter time is passing and with the recent sunshine in Nor Cal, I am feeling grateful and inspired. Hope everyone out there is staying healthy and strong while getting excited for the "BIG" season of "GROWING LARGE PLANTS OUTDOORS" come spring!
Personally, I'm getting amped for April... Currently I am caring for a room of Mother clones who will provide a plethora of beautiful baby girls this spring. There are a few hand selected from the 2010 Farms; however, several strains were gifted from an array of International Cannagraphic Magazine's finest growers in Northern California.
From the BIG FARM of 2010 we have the now infamous Blue Dream, who last year came from Grey Beard's 12 lb. Mother. Last year's Blue Dream Blvd. exceeded expectations and in average weighed in at 11 to 12 lbs. + per tree. Thus, once again, this year's Blue Dream will be Queen of the crop and in high demand.
Other favorites from last season who will return to the field are: Blockhead, Flo, Glo, GDP, GDP x AW, Cheese, Blue Dream x Cheese, Blue Frost, Bubba Chunk, and Blue Dragon.
As for the new recruits: Cherry Assasin #1 x OG Kush, Tangerine, Old Betsy, OG the Kind, Pina, BBK, Buddha's Passion, Gush x (Goo x OG), Shire, MPK, Mr. Nice, Trinity Kush, Blueberry, and Kush Cleaner.
As for Trees from Seeds... The Kish was a surprise in 2010 and came in at 12lbs of dense aromatic flowers too; needless to say no cuttings were taken... however, there are more seeds and they will be planted. Then there's a couple of "Big Names" that will be taking root this seaon: Black Widow (AKA White Widow) and Medicine Man (AKA White Rhino)... More on seeds later as well as new pictures...
Would love to hear what others will be planting this season and all info regarding the new recruits would be greatly appreciated.
