I love Black Box talk, I had my biggest success this yr.

I used an old tube free standing car port as the exterior frame.

On the inside I built a raised bed with big posts at the corners so I could 'guy line' the frame to the posts. Much like on a windy day inside your tent.

Then I used an old pond liner as my Black out. This worked fantastic.

I used 2 x 6 bolted to the frame, on the outside of the pond liner in 3 places. (All on the north side of the Frame)

Then I attached some heavy horse ropes on what would be the south side of the pond liner. I used these to throw over the top of the frame, and tie the pond liner down.

So, here are the pics, I'm sure I'll need to elaborate, but this design worked with the free things I was able to salvage.

I live in a VERY AG. area, so if you do not, and need something like a good cheap pondliner, then I recommend going to CL, and looking in a known AG area up to a couple hours away. You can find it.

I'll answer questions whenever. Also, my entire Owl's Production line of seeds (Purple Ticinensis, Heaven and purple Skunk) came out amazing. I highly recommend Felix and Owls Production for any sort of elevation growing. Only 3 buds had mold and everything was down by October 12th.

The Black Box pics were Diesels and they came down on Aug. 24th.

Peace

I'm going to go with a more car port style green house. I hate pulling the tarp over the hoop house. It was total bull shit.. I am going to be using the triple layer fabric from Forever Flowering and put it on a track that I can pull for the walls and lid to black it out on the inside of the carport frame with the green house plastic around the out side. Think theater curtains...

Light deps are the shit and where the future of growing is. Leaving plants out all year is cool and all but you can really push the limits of what cannabis is and can do by blooming things out side and manipulating the light cycle.

For example, if Nomaad started his Pineapple Cough or Cough flowering in mid may to finish in the peak of the sun in August...the bud would be of amazing quality...etc.,.. I think that the spectrum of the sun and variety and time of year something was bloomed will be the next evolution of what separates things in the marketplace...

Big love to all the growers , trimmers, hash makers , drivers , pilots ... every one that makes cannabis possible...i love you

I did run the PC in a light dep and it finished in early to mid August. The nug was inferior to that of the one full season PC plant that triggered earlier that the rest and finished completely... That's the best PC I have grown yet.

But your point (that photoperiod control in the greenhouse is the shit) still stands, if i had been set up to pull tarp on the PC as soon as I felt they were big enough for me, they would have triggered at that point and finished up alongside the one that mysteriously triggered earlier than the rest or earlier if i had so decided.

Very large, single plant pop-up light dep tents made from the breathable material that could be deployed on a whim would fucking rule.

Nomaad - What you were saying about how using a individual dep to get whatever strain to finish in any area is what I was talking about regarding being the future of cannabis !! that shit rules!

The black box worked out for me better than expecter this year.

I running 25-30 different strains of Sativas, Hazes, and a few indica mix this winter as part of a breeding project. Some of the clones will be in the garden next year.Aside from that Im running some Headband from 707 now. I love that stuff. How Big does the real 707 Headband get? Is it worth running in a big bed?

It takes a copious amount of steps and work to get cannabis out there....For that, you gotta respect and love the process and the game. On a side note, isn't it time our posts had an automatic draft saver like gmail? There's nothing worse than typin up a fairly lengthy post and either ic jams up or your power supply gets tripped on by the dog or somethun......I'm just sayin' it's 2010....and it just happened to me.

I can picture your light dep Trinity up until the ceiling, the walls are fine but I'm wondering about the roof.....I was thinking something along the lines of poles going from one end of the gh to the other in a semi kind of arc or just straight across the room on the ceiling and having the fabric on i-hoops so you would simply pull it close and then there would be a dedicated area for the fabric to fold upon itself down at the end of the arc or pole run for when you open it back up......it wastes a little gh room at the end of the structure but it would make for a fairly easy tarp pull......this makes sense in my head but feel free to elaborate if I'm missing the target.

@ Nomad, patent that shit man and get em moving, it would be like a mini dep dome, shit i think i just came up with the name....those would probably be greeted with a fair amount of reception....

I have been thinking about trying to make exactly what you descibed, for next season. (something like the pop up hampers you see only bigger). I would love some input on what size (width and height) you all think would be best. Height would obvioulsy be adjustable, so I mean maximum height.

Two weeks ago I was pretty much sick of the the sight of it all, now you guys start the light dep talk and I am getting all excited for next year!

they make pop-up cubes for shade at the beach that are at least 5x5x5. integrate that with the light dep fabric and you've got a product. if anybody goes into production I would appreciate about 99 of em at cost.

or check this shit out:

One of these days I am going to find myself a partner who has product development skillz. I just don't have the time.
