Yeilding Potential in Cali

Yeilding Potential in Cali

memphis man: Last season in a different area my largest plant (Green Crack x High End) was pushing 5lbs. (I was in the ground there)... This season at the "Creek Garden" I am doing twice as good compared to the prier year. Over half of the trees are bigger right now than they were when I harvested last Oct/Nov... As for the "Big Farm" with the 12 x 12 holes, the Blue Dreams avg. between 9 to 12 lbs. last season and after reviewing some pictures taken in August 2009, the farm was at the same growth expansion as it is right now. About a month ahead compared to last season in overall vigor and size. This is good news! Makes one wake up early - excited for the hard work just ahead. Give thanks... two scripts (12 plants), depending on locations and all the many variables to complete the cycle of a season, 4lbs. per tree is not far fetched... 5lbs. to 8lbs. very possible... 9lbs. to 12lbs. your thumb better be dark green! Good luck with your endeavors & many blessings!

tom and fill thank you guys very much. one more question guys if you dont mind. we get alot of our stuff here in the south from out there and everyone here is always saying that outdoor plants will not produce the really stanky potent stuff that everyone here calls kush lol. some people just dont know the difference and call every good bud that comes through here kush. i know different cuz i do read and try to educate myself but some things you can only gain from expierance. so i guess what im asking is will outdoor bud that has been harvested and cured correctly be as pungent as indoor bud? or is this why outdoor bud normally sells for less?

cool deal feb im guessin the stuff we get here that doesnt stink real bad is just because it was not a smelly strain to begin with. another question. how to your cure all the outdoor bud i know indoors ive always used the jar technique but i dont think that would work for 50 plus pounds lol.

Fill: looking big out there. Very nice to see an update. Thanks.

GanjaD: amazing vigor all over the shop. I cannot wait to sample some of these strains.

I got 4.85lbs from my biggest plant last year in 200 gallons without a clue beforehand as to what I was doing. This year, If my plants were to finish right now at their current size, I'd get 4-5 per. I am hoping that by harvest I am pushing the absolute limits of what a 200gallon smarty can do. Most I have seen from this cut in 200 gallons is a tad over 8. I would be ecstatic if I manage one single 8 pounder. I have equally high hopes for my other main strain, the Pineapple Cough... they are all huge.

I say daily prayers that the season does not throw me any serious problems. Right now I am starting to think about caterpillars. There are dozens of white butterflies in my garden during the day... The bigger the plants, the more work it is to be diligent about prevention and staying ahead of potential fiascos. I am so thankful for this site, this thread and these guys, or I'd not be where I am with my garden.

Las Season Harvest Time

Las Season Harvest Time

Since there is some talk of curing... Here are a few pics. of last season's harvest process... From a large tree ready to harvest, to shucking the fan leaves and pulling off the Big Buds, to laying them on the tray, to feeding them through the machine, tumbling them twice through the chamber, catching them in the harvest tote, and finally placing them on the drying screens.

two things that must be considered in this are
1. the quality of the cut. is it a kush? or what they(the people) call kush.
2. the drying curing process. no matter the cut , drying and curing too fast or "not correctly" will ruin anything period. a two day dry and a two day cure are in no way acceptable unless its your "only" option...
outdoor usually sells for less because there is more of it. but folks who have the right genetics, and a good cure/grading process can still get a fair price for their wares.also to take into consideration is the rarity of certain genetics. if everyone has "blue dream" this year , and everyone is getting 5+ per plant off it, then only the best blue dream will fetch a fair price. as soon as the market is flooded the price will drop substantially.
hope that helps

All the trees are climbing and enjoying the heavy top dressing of bird and bat guano. Hit them with a foliar of Calcium 25 this evening. Blue Dream (authentic as it gets) Boulevard, Mental Floss, and Deep Chunck x Bubba Kush x Who's Your Daddy are passing the 7' mark and are stretching 7' to 8' plus wide. Feeling grateful and blessed. Looking forward to the 1/3 "Larger Corn" claim by Calcium 25! Big up the FARMS - Shower them with BLESSINGS and HAPPY Gardening!
Here's a couple of pics... One of the Mental Floss & One of the Blue Dreams.

In your pics, what is the function of the scrog-type top netting??? My plants are at about 6 1/2 feet now and about 5 feet wide....will the hort be helpful at this stage. Wire cage inside. This is new to me, I'm used to tying down branches indoors to spread open plants.

fill when you say shuckin the fan leaves i understand that part but when you say you run them through the tumbler is that the buds your tumblin to get some extra hash of of them or you running the trimmins through the tumbler?
