Oh man, chit happens :badday: Sorry my friend. Happens over her too. :yoinks: But it sure sucks when more than one chit happens at the same time  Could be a good omen though - the law of averages now owes you some of it's good graces....

Supah that you got some quality bb, I'll be over in a bit  :joint:

Aww thats alright TML, it happens to everyone.
And who knows maybe in the end you will be rewarded for the 5 more days of veg! :chin:
I also had a little timer problem today and gave them two more hours in the morning. :bat:
Are you at all looking forward to the new genetics you've got?
I hope you have the opportunity to do some breeding! I would love it. :canabis:
Can't wait for some pictures! :woohoo:

Mr GreenJeans - Yeah...whattaya gonna do? I've gotten over it  The extra 7 days under the HPS has given the BB's a little stretch...should be some sweet plants
Come on over for a smoke...don't forget your snow suit eh

Insomniac - Just gotta look at it in a positive light and call it an extra week of veg...you're right
I am very much looking forward to my new genetics...just got too much on my plate right now to get into them. I plan on doing a few seed grows with BB being my only cloned strain, so I should get to them in a few months.
I would love to do some breeding and will probably further planned this summer. I need to build up a stash first, that's my first priority.
I'd love to see how your plant is doing now...feel free to post up some pics and info...would be great to know how you're doing with her

___________________________________________________________________________

I've cleaned out the Veg Box and got rid of any mold that was starting.
I decided not to re-paint to get the plants back in quicker...here's a look:
7622Veg_Box.jpg

A look at the plants within:

You got Freeze then Grape on top and Hempstar-1, and 2 on the bottom.

Freeze and Hempstar-1 were chopped today...took about 4 nodes off Freeze and 3 off H-1

Hempstar-2 continues it's bondage :chin:

had to take a doobie break in between posts :joint:

Hempstar-3
7622Hempstar-3_Still_Un-Sexed.jpg

^ Still un-sexed :wallbash: It's a pretty mature plant now....should show in a few days under proper 12/12 now. Of course my timer issue was resolved
You can see how the new growth still grows in like it looks Mg deficient  It normalizes with maturity though, as you can see. It's been growing like that since birth. What a great vigorous plant though

Blueberry-1
7622Blueberry-1_Day_1_Flower.jpg

^^ I removed most of the mite affected leaf near the bottom on both plants, alot of it was old anyhow and I figured it would aide in getting rid of any eggs that were left behind. Both BB's were sprayed with Trounce a few days ago, but the insecticidal soap will only be used from now on. I have them under good control now, I just gotta keep on'em  You can see how well they've been controlled now.
This plant is a little bit shorter than BB-2, but yet a bit bushier, should be a good, quick, and frosty yielder :yummy:

Blueberry-2
7622Blueberry-2_Day_1_Flower.jpg

^^^ Gettin a good stretch on this one. Really reacting well to the HPS. Can't wait to see what she'll look like in a week...hopefully the 250W can handle these monsters :yoinks:

Things are starting to go back my way, and I'm sure the extra week of veg didn't hurt.
Hempstar-3 should show very soon, and I'll have a report from there.

Everyone hang in there...the weekend always comes around eventually

Hey there buddy!
The blueberry is such a weird looking plant, growth wise. they almost look like vines.
Well since you asked I'll throw some pictures up. My plant is far from beautiful and I am dealing with a heat issue  that should be resolved tomorrow.
I believe this is day 8 in flower. Things seem to be slow but I think she is starting to frost up:woohoo:
Give me some time TML and I'll have a better grow area. Things are tight security wise but should improve! :joint:
Here is the most developed top at week one and then week two:

week 2:
you can pick out the heat stress she got last night. Stupid fans stopped:yoinks:

Superb job on your veg area - looks great. I also think you can get away without re-painting.

The flowering plants are looking great too - hard to guess there had ever been anything wrong. Nice and green, good leaf shape, no noticeable spotting.

Props also on your attitude - an extra week of veg *is* the best way to look at it. You did say you needed more yield, eh? Maybe you're giving yourself some ideas?

Hey Guys

i_score - Thanks for the well wishes  it's always nice to have some good mojo on your side when starting a new flowering project
I plan to overgrow the world! (250W at a time:wink: )

Insomniac - :biglaugh: I had the same thought the first time I seen the BB clone..."wtf is this" :chin: When the leaves started to curl and mutate, it really scared me...thought I done something to mess up the plant. Then I did some reading and found, if your leaves don't curl...it's probably not a true Blueberry :yummy:
I don't understand why I can't get the stems to go green though. I remember last time I flowered, they did green a bit. I thought a longer veg would cure that  doesn't seem to have a negative effect with this plant though.
I'm sure it'll take me awhile to dial this strain in...considering I'm still a rookie.

Your budsites look great for 8 days. I can see some frost already forming and looks to be some future dense buds. You'll be surprised how quick it goes from here man
Gotta hate tech troubles. Too bad about the fan, Just remember most of them are out of your control...and we're humans and we can make mistakes too.
Are you still doing that under CFL's?
Can't wait to see your happiness of the first harvest

Mr GreenJeans - I just went back over my whole thread and realized I've never shown a shot of the veg box before...even when I built it :biglaugh:
See...theres always something new goin on at the Air Canada Centre, even for the old-timers.
Glad you like my ghetto setup. You know me though...if it gets the job done and it doesn't take me more than 5 minutes work...I'm in :joint:
I hafta hand it to the Safer's Trounce
8378applause.gif
a job well done. It will be replaced by DE of course, but has served it's purpose. I love to be organic.
Gotta stay positive in the growing game
Don't wanna grow out more than I can handle in height with the 250W, I'm sure this grow will be testing the limits :sasmokin:

From The Bottom Of The Pile...Day 10

From The Bottom Of The Pile...Day 10

Sorry for my absence. I've been both busy and lazy.

Things been going slow here anyhow, and I'm starting to feel the pinch.
I havn't harvested in a long time and my interests havn't been so high lately.

Here's a Day 10 Flower update

Blueberry
7622Blueberry-1_Day_10_Flower.jpg

^ Blueberry-1 - These plants are starting to flower very slowly. At first I thought I might have had another timer issue, but everything seems to be in order. I think it's the cold lights out and big temp difference that's keeping them slow.

7622Blueberry-2_Day_10_Flower.jpg

Blueberry-2 - This one was tied down to keep an even canopy. Growing like mad, but flowering slowly.

Hempstar

7622Hempstar-3_Day_10_Flower.jpg

Hempstar-3 - Is a lady :woohoo: It's clone showed first...then was culled. It's been showing for 2-3 days itself now.
This plant seems a little stunted from the transplant  A place where I never usually have problems. Could be the cold too.
K...the light growth thing is starting to get to me now. Plant seems healthy, dunno if it's a pigment freak or some sort of def.
We'll see how she turns out.

I havn't culled Hempstar-1 yet, but it looks like I must to make room for the BB clone...I'll still have Hempstar-2, Grape, and Freeze ready for next round...I'll have my fill of Hempstar :yummy:

Hopefully we'll see some well developed fuzzy spots at the next picture update.

Hey there TML
I was wondering when we would hear from you.
Plants look lovely, especially that Hempstar. I don't know about the coloring maybe check out the sick plant thread in my sig for any help :chin:
Can't wait for the frost show. Let the snow fall upon your plants..in a good way of course :yummy:

Take care man :joint:

They're looking great my friend. Yes, the cold can really slow the plants down. Vegging is a bit slow for me too this time of year, I think when the temp drops below 55 things start slowing down. Still, they're all very branchy, going to yield for you for sure!

Nice to see everyone

Sleepy - I'm guilty also of not posting much lately. Been finding myself being lazy and watching more tv than I should...I guess the winter will do that to you though :badday:
Thanks for spending your time reading up on my thread...once I get motivated to do something it eventually gets done and not much holds me back, so I guess resilient would be a good description

Insomniac - I'm sure once the flowers come in good I'll be more excited to update.
I checked around for possible problems with Hempstar and the only thing I could figure is Mg def. But, I use epsom salts, tap water, and there is also Mg in the ferts I use  It could possibly be genetic...it doesn't seem to do any harm and normalizes with maturity.

Mr GreenJeans - Ya my lowest temp drop has been down to about 12C (54F).
I have them raised from the floor so the buckets are not in direct contact with colder floor, and been keeping watering to a minimal to try and keep soil warmer.
Both BB's are nice and branchy and should definately yield well  dunno bout speed though.
Gonna be real nice to see buds again!

Hiya TML

I hear ya - have to do the same where in my basement location. One thing I've found helpful is to use barely warm to the touch water for watering / ferting the plants - the little bit of extra warmth seems to help during the winter. I have my plants either set on a 1/4" plywood board on the floor or up on a cheap table when they're short.

Looking great my friend - can always count on you to give me my vicarious jolt of blueberry growin!!! :yummy:

Maybe a space heater is in order..I took off the register grid from the central heat to get extra flow and heat in the grow area..
Lets get those babies fat and frosty.. :canabis:

Hey TML your hempstar looks Mag def for sure. I've been fighting with an AG-13 for a month now and had the same problem, but mine was a lot worse than yours. Cold temps are a pain in the ass!!!! They seem to lock out a lot of nutes. They cause a lot of problems.

are you running your lights during the day or at night? Try running them at night when it's the coldest it might help a little? A space heater will also help.

Did you find any DE yet?

Looking good you lazy ass!!!!!

Mr GreenJeans - I'll have to try the warm water solution. Maybe if I fed them with the warm water before lights out, the root zones could possibly stay warmer longer.
I'm sure one day you'll find a good BB strain too. Untill then you're more than welcome to as much fix of my BB as you like :friends:

packn2puff - I'm an awesome thumb-twidler too :pointlaug
Fortuneatly for me there was ducting running through there and I did add a register soon after I first set it up as a grow room.
Unfortuneatly this area is unfinished, and in a Canadian basment I guess the added heat register just isn't enough.
I'm thinking I just may have to insulate :yoinks: and turn the heat up a degree or 2

garlic city gro - Thanks for the confirmation on my diagnoses
I love the positive effects that the cold weather has on producing trich covered quality buds, but the slow growth and possible nute lockouts it brings is a pain in the ass.
I do run my lighting at night...I would complain about it being cold...but then that wouldn't be very Canuck of me :biglaugh:
I've yet to find DE, though I havn't been looking very much lately :bat: Laziness and procastination set back in after the Trounce did such a wonderfull job.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks for tips and advice guys :friends:

As for the space heater...Space heater would be easy...I have plenty, just none with auto thermostat shut offs, so I'd have to manually turn it on/off :dueling: also for the extra 900-1500W I might as well just upgrade to a 1000W HPS and generate my own heat :chin:

Things have been progressing nicely the last few days...and I think Hempstar-3 will get some extra feeding this week, she's always been a nute hungry pig and maybe she just wants more....then again maybe she's not processing what she has already well  We'll soon find out.

I'll get a pic update in for the weekend

:bat: TML are you ready for your spanking :asskick: :whip: :moon: It's time to stop using the epsom salts and invest in some Botanicare cal-Mag. Since I started using it I have had no problems with Mag def. ( with the acception of my AG-13 that is really cold sensitive and it locksup the Mag).

Day 17...Just a petite update

Garlic - I'm always ready for a spanking :woohoo: I just usually prefer hot college spring break girls to preform the spanking :yummy:
Hit the shower and have a shave and I'll think about it GCG :chin: j/k
This is the first time I've dealt with a serious nute lockout. If I have repetitive problems I'm going to have to invest in something.
I 've fixed the cold problem and fed her in well...we'll see what happens.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Well...Hempstar-1 was culled the other day :cuss:

RIP :badday:

There just wasn't room  She had a very thick stock and pungent sweet candy smell...but I needed room for the survival of the BB clone to thrive.

Grape, Freeze, and Hempstar-2 Still remain in the veg cab with the BB clone. I regret not keeping the H-3 clone now, I would be able to easily fit another party cup :bat:

Well...I've taken care of the excess cold problem
I first stuffed some insulation up at the top where the ceiling met the floor joyces and then covered them with garbage bags and tape :biglaugh:

I also extended the duct work and added a angle vent hood. This was to get the air blowing closer to the floor to trap it in longer (I heard heat rises :biglaugh:)
I managed to raise the temp in the growroom by 3C lights on and 4C lights out. Now I'm sitting at 24-25C(75-77F) during the day and 15-17C(59-63F) at lights out with 40-48% humidity :yummy:
I covered the new vent with an air filter...hopefully bugs and such can't make it through in the summer time. Should help keep it cooler in there then too

I'll snap some pics on day 20, then make them a little more frequent from there on.
There was some good progress this week
