The best part about organics is all the waste, the virtue signaling, the techno babble and the ripoff artists. AKA I read da labels pt 6

Been waiting a decade for one of the digital ganja gurus to tell the community why 50 lbs of signature artisanal craft seed/nut/grain meal should cost $250 plus shipping and tax?

I pay $22.

The best answer anyone can come up with is "Huh? Barley isn't seed meal, it's for da enzymes, da enzymes! Plants love dis shit! "

Da enzymes? Yeah okay, come back when you're finished larping at the Idiocracy convention, friend.

Looks like the malted barley filler content is actually bringing my protein content down to 12%. I read da labels.

No, organic pothead . You don't need karambucha nut paste extracted from the cracks of some sacred cliffs of India during prayer hour. You don't need brand name guru approved seed flours. Stop being weird, potheads. Stop standing in line with your wallets out in front of the Supreme fert outlet and stop posting about it on social media if you don't want decent people like me laughing at you.

These organics woo woo gurus got everyone's soil so fucked, and pockets so emptied, brains so rotted. Feeding protein out of gold plated glass jars, for da enzymes.. Telling everyone they need more sulfur, for da terps, when their plants are sulfur toxic. Yet no one can tell you how much a bale of peat expands to (2.2>2.5,3.0>3.75).Or how many cubic ft are actually in a 4 cubic ft bag of perlite (3.33cu.ft.). No one has any money left for a tissue test or sap analysis to see how bad they are actually fucking their plants by taking youtube advice. Seems that poor quantification and taking people's word for things = the name of the game in 21st century organics?

Will you please explain your protocol in further detail?

I experimented using seed flour and it worked very well for a while. I would grind 10 grams of seed per gallon of water. I did have issues after 1ish rounds as the medium became too dense and needed additional perlite or rice hulls to help 'fluff' it back up again.

This was hard to read. Yes many companies overcharge for products and yes a lot of it is just marketing to get people to spend money.

Protein directly relates to C:N ratios and N availability/release in soils.

I have yet to see a sulfur toxicity in cannabis. At worst I'm seeing additional osmotic pressure in the rhizosphere.

What are u even talking about? ^^ What nut/seed meal are you refering to? For example: there is a huge difference between alfalfa-meal and wheat flour. Whats with da labels? That post looks like a trainwreck -.-

I did what the "gurus" said to do, lol. I went down to the local brew store and bought 10 lbs of their cheapest malted barley. I could get it even cheaper if I wanted to order a whole 50 lb bag, but I only re-up 2-3x a year. I grind it the day I use it with a 30 year old coffee grinder. Each plant gets top dressed with a 1/4 c every 2 weeks, no matter its size. Seems to do the job just fine.

Pretty damn cheap for premium quality. No gurus marketed any products to me. In fact, they suggested that I buy local if I could. And for the stuff that I can't find locally, I'm glad that there are people / companies that offer products of various levels of quality for any budget.

One thing to watch for is heavy metals. Might be worth getting it lab tested to make sure you're not bringing in a lot of arsenic or cadmium or lead.

Ok I’ll play along

You can buy composted chicken manure in 40 or 50# sacks cheaper than flour etc of the same exact weight….. it stores indefinitely in bags & barely smells… it too is organic and functions as a TRF

Flour is more expensive, inferior in application quality & spoils much quicker; inferior in fact in every way unless you needed to make a loaf of bread in a pinch I guess…

What am I missing…?

would like to do a side by side grow with the usual lowe's pro-mix omri organic soil mix and pro-mix omri 7-3-3/4-4-8 poop pellets versuz black swallow tad hussey KIS mix soil (twice the cost of the pro-mix soil) and black swallow 4-4-4 pellets (same price as the pro-mix ferts)

the cheapest organic pro-mix option vs the expensive artisanal living soil option. will be fun to see the differences side by side in a grow

so the cheapest (yet omri certified) organic pro-mix option or the expensive artisanal living soil option. will be fun to see the differences side by side in a grow

I would never buy KIS or BAS soil. Both are very overpriced and overrated. You almost have to mix your own if your going to grow that way.

I started with FFOF and after a few rounds of just top dressing, I added some pumice, rice hulls, and lava rock. That was about 5 years ago. Still using it.
someone just asked me in private my recipe & I replied

“I farm inside like I do outside, KISS

A key part is my medium & indefinite recycling of it, some of my tubs are the same soil recycled pushing 6-7 years outside removal of the primary stem, it will continue this way indefinitely you can see endless bits of old roots breaking down

Initial mixing of soil is important though I just use what I have laying @, nothing is set in stone - in other words there’s no recipe but a knowledge of why & how things work…

My indoor soil is rather heavy vs most and contains sand, peat, coco, turface, perlite, vermiculite, orchiata, pumice, native etc - whatever I have around but the weight & structure is very important & you can gauge this simply by how it clumps in your hand, heavier mediums have a higher cec most often

I’ll add some gypsum here & there but for most part just spade in composted chicken manure (Symphony / Harmony) before each grow and then just water”….

KISS should be everyone’s foundational rules / goals and everything else marketed specifically towards cannabis growers blocked out as unnecessary noise, distraction & extremely overpriced filler

The proof will always been in the pudding ;)
