He clarified that of the 19 hijackers, 12 traveled thru Iran to be trained in Afghanistan and 10 of those 12 were assisted by Solemeini.
I believe it was his press secretary who did the clean up duty. Not him.
He was still incorrect. That wasn't the deep states fault.

I think he said it correctly. It was a tweet. The press misrepresented what he said in order to find points to discredit him on. That was my understanding.

Saudis being trained in Afghanistan. The deepstate is global and the idea of friends and foes is sometimes muddied. Saudi Arabia is our ally, but they were involved in 9/11. See, the notion of friend and foe is less important when you are staging pretexts for wars. If I had to bet on who is correct, Pence with daily intelligence briefings, or, the deepstate media who has no evidence and has been discredited. I'd put my money on Pence this time.
