Coronavirus has been listed on a can of lysol for years. Spend some time reading something besides conspiracy nonsense. Virus have been mutating since the beginning of time. It's a mutation of a well known virus, not a bioweapon.

Hello All, I have been very busy lately with lots of things including how to navigate this shelter in place situation as far as work goes. But, I wanted to address this 'scientific' article and the research it was based on. It is a quintessential piece of blatently pseudoscientific propaganda. I plan on doing a little bit of a deeper dive into it and possibly other examples of political pseudoscientific propaganda when I have more time. But in the meantime, you can all click the link above and read it for yourselves and see if you can identify the problems I see with it.
Hint: Focus on the methodology used to ARRIVE AT THEIR 'scientific'(?) CONCLUSION and their field of expertise.

I don't think there was anything unethical in selling stocks because you found out on Jan. 27 about the C-Virus.
It was obviously a bubble - and it's smart to 'take money off the table'.
America completely depends on China for manufacturing. There was a period of about 3 weeks when that was threatened & the market was still in bubble mode.
Anybody who valued their $$ would have pulled $ off the table during those 3 weeks. And sold stocks.

Insider trading is legal and normal for congress people. Several times it has been publicized and they fixed it by making it illegal. Usually it is bundled with other bills and quietly made legal again. Frequently congress passes spending bills that make a great deal of money for people and they are in on it.

You want to watch the state of the economy? Keep an eye on truck manufacturing.
Mid last year Volvo cut production 30% because they already were starting to see the cracks in the economy, and knew we were headed into a downturn.
They did the exact same thing in 2007, 8 months before the 2008 financial crisis.
Go back through time, and it's easy to see that the heavy truck manufacturers are the ones to watch for any kind of economic indicator.
The virus turned what was going to be a downturn into a crash. With the US's response, it turned a crash into a Black Swan event.

The article is just an article. I always think it's more about going straight to the source. So, I'm mostly talking about the study itself, published in Nature. Thanks for posting the link.
