Definitely going to do it next year though, I'm totally serious too.
When you coming up this way, weathers getting better everyday ?

Arty, right on thanks :tiphat: I'll relay the message thru the grapevine.

Dan, hey maybe next year you should hop a jet and meet me out there,

Hey sprout, just took down my first full bucket run and looking pretty nice yield wise. Probably could do a little better with a 5 gallon bucket over the 2 gallon that I used. Curious if you could explain/show what you are doing as far as the net pots and the 5 gallon buckets? It looks like the net pots sit in the buckets and not on the top of the buckets?

Dan, shit yes... that'd work me and the old lady been talking about
getting a rent a racer and driving back anyway, been too long since
I made that drive, grand canyon, yellow stone, etc... beautiful trip !

Look what the cat dragged in... what up Cali ?

Garden update: day 56 running on plain Ph`d tap water now.
Last week I dropped the PPMs down to 500 and hit them up
with some Kool bloom powder, ran that for 5 days and then
began flushing them, noticed an almost immediate swelling.

Third Coast, hey man sorry I missed your post... was trying too post
with one hand while texting Carlos with the other, surprised I even
managed too get them pictures up, lol, " multi task'n while stoned ! "

Here's a peak at them net pots... The lil green wires are to pull them
back out easier as they do tend too get kind of wedged in there a bit.
picture.php

After the initial run I took a drill and Swiss cheesed the sides
of the pots too allow much better water/air flow. Since then I've
also eliminated the air stones and just went with a bare ass hose.
It's a bit louder, but way easier on the air pumps and man do they
really bubble like that... gained about 20% increase in yield, so ya !
picture.php

I seen your post in the Zen~den about moving up too 3/4" tubing,
couldn't agree more, my controller bucket had/has 3/4" outlets
so I went that route anyway. I just up graded a buddies set up
for him (same buckets you have) to 5 gallons and he's loving the
way it's going, plants are bigger and seem sturdier as well, win/win.
A step drill bit like this makes the job easier, I punch it all the way
through for 3/4 grommet holes and clean up the rough edges...

Hey Marlo :) thanks just wished I could get in there and take
some better pictures... angles and the backdrop are everything
when taking killer pics and lately I've been sorely lacking in both !

what size net pot is that ? a 3 gallon maybe ? & how much room between the bottom of the net pot & the bottom of the bucket ?
gotta get this info stored in the memory banks for later

Dan, yes that would be helpful wouldn't it... :dunno: I always forget
at least one piece of pertinent information, could be all the weed ?

11" in diameter and they sit just about 2.5" off the bottom of the
buckets, that isn't a problem, the roots grow through the bottoms.

Back out for the night bite... :dance013:crappies were slamming it this morning.

got my shopping cart on amazon filled with 12 site ebb and grow package, and 12 add ons, tri meter, air pumps. the whole 9

now I gotta call a friend with a hydro store and see what he quotes me. lowest bid wins my cash!

when did I recommend the ebb and flood buckets to you? 2 years ago now or more. I wanted to get one since 2011 personally but couldn't pull the trigger cuz I had a ton of working gear already in hand.
now knowing I want the DE bulbs for certain, its my best option to gain the 18" + I lose to my tables. and I wont have to deal with drip lines or stakes and no handwater needed if im lazy about the dripper set up. like always hehe
im gonna blow up the entire 11x8 area and just creep under like the days of old when I filled the whole rooms up. just going with 4k DE I should be able to hack 8+ every 2 months. im gonna need employees! or a trim machine... think ill ask some friends if they wanna throw down on a machine to share. only the expensive ones do a good job and don't beat up the nugs.
im trying to move to cali so I need to automate as many aspects of my room as I can, even harvest. if im gonna get carded up and care take in CA, my CA spot is gonna be bigger than home. that's where the machine will pay off for sure. have you ever looked at the cost of those things? u can buy a damn car

I'm curious about the airlines going to the buckets. Do you use them because you flood for 15 minutes at a time? Oh and how often do you flood? I'm flooding every two hours but was just a guess.

they aren't needed. id use it on the big res to keep the DO in the water up and the flood and drain does the rest.

I plan on timing them like I would a table.
about 30 min before lights on.
and again at 3, 6, 9, & 12 hrs.
they'll stay plenty wet over night getting a flood at lights off.

Dan, excuses, excuses... Lol ! ;)

Cream47, that's a lot of reading, thanks for the kind words !
P.S. your English is way better than CalienteCarlos is, lol...

Brotha Third, Sirs might be right, it's probably overkill but I do
like my shit bubbly, I have a duel output air pump (runs constantly)
and a secondary water circulation pump that cycles every 4 hours
all cooking in my 55 gallon reservoir, still I did notice an increase
in yield when I added the bucket pumps, so fuck it, I'm roll'n it !
I flood 1/2 hour after lights on and every 4 hours after that till
lights off, basically 4 floods per day in flower and 6 per in the veg.

Sir, congrats on the LV 420 cup victory, bring'n home that hardware !
Ya it's been a couple years now since you talked me into the buckets.
I really wouldn't be able too live my life style and grow weed without
"full automation"... be some hungry, dry and dead plants for sure if I
was too try hand watering, just too much other shit going on, ya know.

Was playing at the local sandbox the other day and some mean kids
were throwing sand and rocks at me... I was just playing nice but now...
Now they're gonna get it, went down to the farm and picked up "The BIG"
bike... we'll see who throws dirt at who tomorrow, no more Mr. nice guy !

Oh, and a few garden shots so as too get back on topic...

I gave the Nightmare diesels a two week head start to compensate
for the rapid growth of the Gorilla glue, I think in two more weeks
things should be fairly even bulk wise and I'm plan'n on separate nets
for each strain anyway, but it'd be nice if they were all the same height.
ND on the left, GG mostly on the right, they (GG) are a wee bit skinny
from being in the dang ole aero cloner for something like 8 or 9 weeks...

Flower rooms at day 61, and they're pack'n on the weight now...
Going all "Hard mode", lol !
