High Baby! As i said the plants are not much good. Genetics have fizzled, they dont produce that punch they had a year ago.They spent almost 4 days in buckets w/no light while i built the garden. Very inventive there TBug....Nice. Beat me to it !! I actually had thought about using the fence post too but I was curious as to the amount of light that might penatrate(sp?) into the post, thus creating(for me atleast) algae. I still haven't gotten all of my supplies together as of yet so I might just see how this works out for ya before I go ahead and decide on the 6"PVC or the 6X6 posts.
I planned out another row plus having them alot closer together and more than 4 to a row....along with a much bigger rez. But everything else was pretty much the same.
EDIT:Ment to ask ya.....Do you use a filter on your pump or inline? If so, what size? And what size were your sprayers? Thanx's man.

Listen to the answer I give here****well first the post are 5x5 for a cross sectional area of 25 square inches. the pipe of which you speak, has a radius of 3" and a cross-secional area 9 times pi. (approx 27.4 square inches) Ultimately they are pretty close in size but the square has its advatage in "useable" space. Roots tend to fan out when they hit the flat bottom. plus you have an NFT(thin film) type of flow to the draining nute soln. The other added feature that has NOT been presented as of yet(was saving it) is that I intend place reflective insulation panels between the rows so that the root chambers do not have contact with light or the growroom air temps. Cool dry air will vented into the root partitioned area, then up via another vent to the grow area, then ultimately carbon filter and out to the wash room. I felt that the round pipe would hinder my seperation plans.
If was to use pipping, id want 10" or bigger and that gets kina pricey capping and drilling. tuffer to drill and cut IMO. 6x6 posts would be ideal, but i doudt they make them.
Yes, I have a filter and a pre filter on the intake of the pump. you dont want anything to clog the misters(they will anyway from nute build up). In fact my boxer had to get his FAT F@#!'n head into the res and knocked the filter off. came home to some sad lookin wilts cause most were clogged. Any size mister will do. But the ones I chose are pretty easy to un-clogg. just pop the red part off, the shit is forced out by water preasure, then pop the top back on.Peace and be safe, TBug

Great tutorial!! Aero intrigues me and I love aero growshows. It certainly is more efficient than DWC IMO....I love the SQUARE tubes....I read a while back that they were more efficient than round PVC.....

I have an aero grow very similar except I moved my sprayers to the top of the tubes because the roots overgrew them and buried them so they could no longer spray and it became pretty much a NFT. Hopefully you don't run into this, but by the looks of your setup it would be pretty easy to change the sprayer positioning. Best of luck.

The planter cups sit flush instead of being teetered on a pipe. With all that mist flying up and around, seems like a much more "airtight" setup. Maybe less of a chance for light getting into the tube as well.
This is a pretty cool setup. I'm going to try a single bucket bubbler first though. I'm a bit cautious of change. If that goes well for me, I'll definetly be stopping back by to get a look at this again.
About how much do you think the average hydro grow costs to operate throughout the lifecycle of the plants? (from a nutrient standpoint)
